Another Mustain Update
Arkansas quarterback Mitch Mustain will visit USC again during spring practice, probably around the time of the spring game at the Coliseum.
``Right now, I can’t say honestly where he will transfer but he loved it out here and he is coming back to watch spring practices,’’ former Arkansas and current USC wide receiver Damian Williams said. ``He’s trying to sort things out and make a decision.''
Williams spent last week in Arkansas and said he talked to Mustain every day.
That sounds pretty encouraging. I would have love to see Mustain as a Trojan.
Come on, Mustain DID say that he would make his official announcement in May, so why the constant posts about his non-decision?
If the coaches have said that Mustain's enrollment at USC is "a done deal" and all indications are that he will join his high school and college teammate, Damian Williams, then let's just wait it out. After all, he is still an enrolled student at Arkansas and will remain so until May. No need to rock the boat while he is still there, creating resentment and uneasiness among his former teammates and students.
Mustain's a good kid and will surely be the next great USC quarterback once Booty is gone after this year.
May is not so far away, so patience is needed rather than constant blogs about his official announcement.
Scott, I see your back with the Prom Queen teases again. STOP or put out (in other words, no more news on the Mustain until there is news)!
I hope he never comes... Trouble and drama always seem to follow this kid. We don't need him.

Sanchez is a more gifted QB than Booty and far better than that Ozark Mountain donkey Mitch Cumstain. I'll take Aaron Corp any day of the week over that douche.
If Sanchez really is more gifted than Booty, then how come Booty easily beat him out this past year? How come Booty will easily beat him out next year? How come he hasn't done one darn thing since coming to USC (other than get arrested, of course) and continues to sit on the bench?
To say that Sanchez is better than Booty is the height of lunacy. Sanchez doesn't come within a time zone of Booty, and from all appearances, it's doubtful that he will ever see the field again once Mustain comes.
Booty is worlds better than Sanchez, and Mustain has already done more at the college level than Sanchez will ever do.
Agree with trojanq84 that not all Latinos are criminals. That said, Sanchez clearly is a troubled person who has had numerous run-ins with the law, but it was not due to the fact that he's Latino. It's a personal conduct issue and character flaw with Sanchez; not something that has to do with his race.

hate to be the one to break this to you, but both Kiffen and Sark said last year that Sanchez was more gifted that Booty. However I'm sure you are a better judge of QB's than they are.
What is this fasination with Mustain? Read up on him and you'll start to understand many people's concerns. I really don't care but if I had a choice, I'd say we don't need him. Ask yourself, what type of person quits on his teammates just because he's not getting his way... I question his character.
And why are you calling him "America's #1 QB of All-Time" - are you his mother or are you in love with him... something strange is going on.

Actually, neither Kiffen or Sarkisian have ever said that "Sanchez was more gifted that Booty." Sarkisian has consistently said that Booty is far ahead of Sanchez, but that Sanchez would get a chance to compete for the starting job. Obviously he didn't get it and will not get it next season either.
I have seen both in practice, scrimmages and the very rare occasions that Sanchez came into a game. The talents level displayed wasn't even close. There is no surprise as to why Booty got the starting job over Sanchez. If Sanchez were a better QB than Booty, he would be starting, no questions asked. But he is not. There is no reason to bench the best player for the position for an inferior player.

We really should not question the character of Mustain if Sanchez is who you are comparing him to. Really, do you really want to question someone's character with that of Sanchez's? It won't be pretty.
If character is your concern in a QB, then we should skip right to having Corp start in 2008.

Guys I respect your opinion but please stop with what you saw at practice stuff. I doubt either of you are qualified to make a judgment on QB talent and I doubt that either of you ever look through a facemask in your entire life. Sanchez does have a better arm and throws a better ball than JDB I am not saying he is a better QB what I am saying is that your guys judgment in clouded with your dislike for Sanchez. Mustian sold his teammates out and had his mother go above the coach’s head that is not somebody that you want on your team. Quit the high and mighty elitist stuff Sanchez was never even charged with anything.
I'm not referencing Sanchez here at all. I have no preference nor am I qualified to make that decision. I'm just pointing out all the issues Mustain had at Arkansas. Do some research. Read up on him and then tell me what you think. He came off, to me, as a big cry baby that when he doesn't get his way, he quits.... who wants that on his or her team? last time I checked we were doing just fine without a character like that.
Mustain is a punk, but if he wants to ride some pine its fine by me. Boot-scoot has next year, and Sanchez after that. That's assuming we don't pick up some unreal, freakshow QB next year that will beat everyone out, and we probably will.
