Wide receiver Corey Surrency of El Camino College visited USC this week. What's interesting is that a coach said he's never seen someone learn football as quickly as Surrency, who dropped out of high school in the 11th grade and played only flag football. ``It's pretty amazing,'' a coach said.
Surrency, who is originally from South Ridge, Fla., has already been offered by Colorado.

Wait, what? How does someone who isn't even finishing high school getting an offer from CU?

As long as he takes the GED and passes it and that also means he doesn't have to complete high school. In addition, he would be considered a JC transfer to CO with a scholarship.

So now you don't even need a high school diploma to get into USC?

So now you don't even need a high school diploma to get into USC? I mean no doubt he got the GED to get into JC, but come on!

Ask one of your classmates Reelbruin. Odds are that they're JC transfers too. They should know.

Besides, we're talking about Colorado here. Just because someone visits SC doesn't mean he's going to get in.

I hear there's a guy who dropped out of Pop Warner but kicks-tail at Madden 2007. They say Karl Dorrell is knocking down his door.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
