The Buzz

One of the talking points around the football program today is that three of UCLA's recent commitments -- Aaron Hester of Dominguez, Rahim Moore of Dorsey and E.J. Woods -- might not be as solid as originally thought.

I know E.J. Woods is no longer even listed as a commit on Scout.com, but still is listed on Rivals.com

Take that for whatever you want i guess.

I thought so. I seemed very weird that UCLA could pull a few of the top talent so quickly. Why would any Southern Cal kid go to a mediocre football program. But then again why would the top 3 running backs go to a school with a 6 running back deep roster

Oh yeah, play early. What a great problem we have. As Pete says if you are scared of competition we don't want you.

I didn't figure they would last as solid verbal commits...they "committed" in case they didn't get any better offer...or maybe to try to convice some schools to go after them harder.

Whatever the reason, I agree top flight talent doesn't go to UCLA

hahaha

wow, Scott hacks the news again. EJ feels he needs to do work in the classroom to be admitted into UCLA, he has UCLA #1 on his list with nobody withing stricking distance, however he knows to play football, academics are necessary to even pass the first hurdle. Hester loves UCLA and will not be going anywhere along with Rahim. This is just the tip of the iceburg more top flight talent will sign with UCLA. We have 15 more schollies to give. And yes top flight talent has and will come to UCLA. Most critics in the late 90's said the same about you. Save it.

Brian Price, too, was supposed to have been wavering from his verbal commitment to UCLA. Ditto Akeem Ayers. Both wear powderkeg blue today.

In point of fact, Coach Dorrell has lost only three verbal commits in his entire career at UCLA:
*Chris Conte, in '07 (who had already verballed once to the school he eventually signed with: Cal)
*Walter Watts in '05 ('cause of grades).
*Kaluka Maiava, in '04 (who the Trojans legitimatly stole away from UCLA).

Every other Dorrell commit has gone on to sign on the line which is dotted.

That's not to say that there's any guarantee that all 11 of UCLA's 11 current commits will honor their respective commitments. But statistical history (and the anecdotal examples of Brian Price and Akeem Ayers) would indicate that every single one of UCLA's current verbal commits will indeed be wearing powderkeg blue in '08, no matter how much Southern Cal coaches and partisans may wish otherwise.

In short, you'll almost definitely have to do for Rahim Moore what I've done for "The Freak": wish him the best of luck and try to beat him on the field of play.

My friend who is an intern on the team (SC's) hasn't said anything about anyone other than Woods. He says that Moore has been a life long Bruin fan and is trying to help recruit other kids to the baby blue. E.J. Woods, however, has not received a written offer due to grades, though he considers himself commited to UCLA. I think the Moore and Hester rumors are just fabricated. I know that the coaches have been going extremely hard after these kids who cimmited to UCLA, but I was told that they haven't had much luck yet.

Scotty, things too boring today?

Need something to stir it up a bit?

I loved the part about how commit EJ Woods is not as solid as thought. No shit. He de-committed but has UCLA high on his list.

We'll just have to see on signing day who goes where...

I love it! These guys commit to UCLA and all the Troll-jans come out saying these guys are nobodies and SC didn't even want them. Now that Wolf fabricates a rumor that they might not be solid commits, they talk about how the "top talent" recruits don't want the Bruins. Too funny! Can't wait for the next one...

Spin on!

I bet that Fat slob Brian Dohn is trying to find some way to spin this. Your job is to report not be a cheer leader and Karlos Durrell gonad ryder. Hester couldn't beat a tortise in a foot race and Rahim is overrated. EJ Woods has a jerry curl. Its all about Deion Walker. YA!

13-9

Joe McDonnell and Brian Dohn are lovers. Tracy Pierson is on the Down Low. Its all about Deion Walker and Will Hill. Rojo and Joe Mcknight fo life! YA!

"Hester couldn't beat a tortise in a foot race and Rahim is overrated. EJ Woods has a jerry curl."

So what you're saying is, those grapes were probably sour?

More like sweet peaches and not sour grapes Pat Morita. USC will land Will Hill and Deion Walker. So you can have Hester and watch him struggle to beat Ralphie May in the 40. EJ Woods can't play without activator and is dumber than Fantasia. Rahim is another Dorsey scrub. Keyshawn was the last good player from Dorsey.YA!

USC_1966, after reading your post, I said to myself OH NO..here comes 13-9. I bet U did this on purpose.

I, unlike some of my fellow Trojans, am a little concerned about our recruiting in the LA area. I just looked and saw that Hester reported a 4.44 forty. Is that really so slow in this day and age? If he is that slow, why were we on the verge of offering? Most recruiting gurus have Rahim as one of the top two safeties in the country. I just don't like needlessly denegrating these LA area kids, regardless of what school they go to.

Next you'll hear about UCLA's open tryouts where 15 aspirants make the team and fill those empty slots.

You can't even attract/maintain mediocre talent!

Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
