Add Jarrett

This from someone who played with Dwayne Jarrett.
``He had a second-round attitude, a second-round everything except production. He was a system receiver and the NFL didn't buy it. Maybe if he ran 4.5 it would be different.''

Very true. Jarrett felt like he was owed a first round selection because he went to USC and because he played so well. I said all along he was second round material; he's not fast, and needs to have schemes designated just for him. He'll be a quality player, but would have gained alot from staying another year. Best of luck to him though.

All I can say about Jarrett is 4th and 9! He came up big for SC more times than not and he will always be remembered as a great Trojan. Best of luck to him.

yeah *uck that guy..whoever said that.

MSN is making fun of the No fun league on their site today, because even though he caught everything thrown at him, and was clutch and all that, he "had a slow 40 time" so now he is being tossed under the bus...

Carolina Panthers got a steal..

Dalls Sartz went to Redskins and O.Lua went to the Patriots. That's great Lua always played hard.

DJ may have benefitted by another year. And how about Darius Walker of ND? The first domer to leave school early since 1994, and for what....to go UNDRAFTED. Hahaha!

I think DJ had it easy at SC. He was the top WR and knew it. It didn't seem he was the hardest worker.

Way to go Oscar Lua. The #1 pick... of the 7th round. He is a tough player and I think he can do well in the Pats system. I am happy for Sartz and McFoy too.

Has Carolina become the USC of the East Coast: Keyshawn, Kerry Colbert and now add DJ and Matt. Even scarier, there are (4) Bruins on the roster. I guess Carolina wants a taste of the Southern California sunshine.

Sorry, I must have Matt Kalil on my brain. I meant to say "Ryan" is with Carolina.

Poor attitude? System Receiver? What a load of crap all of that is. He played hard at SC. He dominated whenever he was in the game, sans for a few times when he was playing with severe injury pain. He was dependable, he was a great Trojan who will go down in history as just that! A Great Trojan. So quit with all of this lame anti DJ BS and give the kid his props. He tested the market full well knowing that his speed was a factor. He had guidance, he wanted to be a man and make a mans decision about his future. He decided that rather than go to another year of college, risk injury in another season in the NCAA.. He would set his goals loftier. I give the kid props and respect and he will either make the grade or fail in the NFL..It's on him, he's not a child and he made his path to follow. Good Luck young man!

Again - how was Jarrett a system receiver? A receiver out of Texas Tech or Loisville is a system receiver. USC runs a pro offense.

The NFL scouts are reaching for excuses. Fine, he is slow for his position that excuse I can take but he didn't make great one-handed catches in cluth situations because of the system...

Right On Tyler!

DJ has the chance to prove them all wrong with his performance on the field. Look at what Marques Colston did last year. He sure showed proved that he was better than almost all of the 251 players drafted in front of him.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
