By The Numbers
The SEC had 11 first round selections, which was the most of any conference. The Big Ten was second with seven, followed by the ACC with six and the Big 12 with four.
During the first day (three rounds of the NFL Draft), the SEC led with 21 selections, followed by the Big Ten with 18, ACC with 14, Pac-10 with 12, Big 12 with nine and the WAC with seven selections.

How did the two LSU receivers get chosen before Jarrett and Smith? That LSU offense was able to drop about 10 ppg all season, yet they have three first round picks from their offense. The NFL needs to get off of 40 times, hand size, etc and just TiVo college games and see who performs. Jarrett and Smith have both been big time in 3 straight BCS bowl games. (SS 4 straight!) That should count more than some damn combine!
I couldn't believe the Chargers picked LSU's Craig Davis (who?) in lieu of Jarrett/Smith. The Chargers have proven to be adroit drafters in the past but I'm puzzled about their decision making in the first round. Even when showing Davis' highlight tape, the NFL Network guys conceded that the tape was more of a highlight reel for JaMarcus than for Davis.
Although it would have been fun to watch DJ down here in SD, I'll be sure to catch him playing for the Trojans-East (Colbert, Keyshawn, DJ, Kalil).
who cares? The SEC has always pumped out mediocre players by the bushel...look at Florida QB's as an example..NO ONE drafted Chris Leak..Danny Wuerffel? How about that dumbass who lost the super bowl for Chicago?
SEC SUX
There are 16 teams in the SEC. Their 21 picks gives them a 1.31/team average. The Pac 10 had a 1.2/team average.
