Irish Eyes Smiling?

Notre Dame picked up two commitments in Southern California this week, but whether they raided the local schools is debatable. Quarterback Dayne Crist committed to the Irish and was recruited by USC but not considered a vital pickup with Aaron Corp and Mitch Mustain arriving in the fall. And our sources said Crist was upset UCLA did not recruit him harder.
We're guessing Irish freshman quarterback Jimmy Clausen might be more upset than USC or UCLA over Crist's decision.
The Irish then picked up Crespi tight end Joseph Fauria, who was not offered a scholarship by USC and recruited with some skepticism by UCLA. Maybe Charlie Weis knows something Pete Carroll and Karl Dorrell do not. Or maybe he doesn't.

I don't think that Crist was any big loss for SC. Like noted on another thread, he played behind Garret Green and failed to accomplish anything near to what GG did at Notre Dame Sherman Oaks.

The Fat-man knows one thing: he will go 0 for career vs. the Pete Carroll led USC Trojans. That's why he recruits SoCal so hard. But it still won't matter. Any SoCal kid that picks ND over USC doesn't have his head on right.

Crist may have not accomplished close to what Garrett accomplished (39-3 and 2 CIF Div 3 titles) but that was Div 3. Crist's 1st year starting was ND's 1st in Div 1. Who knows how ND would have faired in D1 with Green at the helm.
11-1 in The Pac 5 division isn't exactly a mediocre season.
Plus Crist got a vertibrate knocked loose in week one against Canyon. He finished the game but missed a good hunk of games.

Do you know how to use a dictionary? Vertibrate is NOT listed; vertebra IS...
You don't even need a medical dictionary. A regular one will do...

Crist, whoever this tight end is...no loss.

The only thing Charlie Weis knows is where the best lunch buffets are in South Bend.

Let Notre Dame have all the 2 and 3 star guys they want..from LA or wherever..

Crist and Fauria (along with Fleming) are all quality pick ups for Weis.

Did USC want Crist, yes.
Did USC want Fleming, yes.

But we did not get them and we move on. Fauria does not matter as much because we want Blake Ayles, but Fauria is still talented.

They are 4 star caliber players, and Crist may end up being a 5 star.

I'm glad Door Prize is a fellow reader. This site is not only entertaining, it's educational as well!!

I is lernin' to read good!

Crist is upset that UCLA didn't recruit him harder? Man, sometimes these recruits sound more like high school girls than football players. What, Karl didn't text you enough?

Good shot CalPolyBruinFan. I guess Jabba-the-Hut "Weis" was able to move one part his body faster than anyone else... and that would be a first.

I think the heavy recruiting of Crist and his committing to NC is a result of the fact that no QB at ND stands out. That includes Clausen, who was average at best during their scrimmage.

Weis probably knows nothing as usual. He's probably desperate, in fact, he should be going after defensive players so maybe they have a chance at competing in a bowl game. I have confidence in PC, probably more than my own doctors. Therefore, if these players weren't offered scholarships, then they are garbage. Because USC offers the best, and only the best. And if they don't come here, their loss and some other 5-star player's gain.

Thank you kindly for the edumacation. Me fail English? That's umpossible!

"Rarely is the question asked, Is our children learning?" - George W. Bush.

I confused vertebra with Vertebrates - are members of the subphylum Vertebrata (within the phylum Chordata), specifically, those chordates with backbones or spinal columns.

Live and learn.

That's not a shocker. Weis pulls in pretty good offensive talent. Now, had you told me he picked up some defensive recruits, then I might be surprised.

memory residue:
You sound like Clinton did NOT inhale, went to Canada, voted for President and used the White house for his sexual education. Oh, no he did NOT have sex with Monica. Hey memory chip do you have anymore like those? Everybody here would love to read your freaking BS garbage...

sloppy memory:
I took Zoology in college therefore I don't need your taxonomy lessons, primate.

Door Prize.
I wasn't giving you a lesson in taxonomy, I was just acknowledging my error. I thanked you for the correction and I threw in two Simpsons ref's and, what I thought to be an amusing Bushism to lighten the mood.
As for your second to last post, I certainly don't remember mentioning Bill Clinton. I wasn't attacking or disrespecting Bush. Certainly everyone can agree he is a poor public speaker who has made numerous humorous blunders. And what do you mean, "...went to Canada, voted for President and used the White house for his sexual education..."
Voted for president? So...he's a bad man for voting in presidential elections? Okay. Again, thanks for enlightening me as to me mistake.
Go trojans.

Hey memory, don't let that race bateing clown el capitan (hiding behind the door prize) affect, or is it infect you, with his bullcrap. The only reason he posts here is to inflame and get a rise out of the unsuspecting. What a loser! I hope that someday he will just drop out of here for good.

Golohead:
Did I say anything about race you moronic idiot?
What are you trying to say with injecting infect? Maybe golohead is infected with something and he does NOT know it, other than being the court jester!
