Mr. Jealousy

You probably heard former USC quarterback Matt Leinart recently severed ties with Creative Artist Agency regarding marketing opportunities.
But why did he do it?
Two sources said Leinart's complained for several months that he was not getting as many endorsements as Reggie Bush, which brought about the change. Somewhere, his former agent Leigh Steinberg is probably laughing.

I'm going to have to go ahead and call shenanigans on this one.

I just heard from a reliable source that Matt Leinart was issued a Helmet a full size bigger than last year. Looks like someone is getting a big head.

But getting back to the point, it is true, how many commercials have you seen with Matty in them? I can't think of any.

He should do a commerical with all the hollywood ho's he is nailing.

A Trojan condom commerical.

That's funny, Wolf. I thought by the title you were describing yourself in this pathetic mancrush on Leinart that you're disguising as venomous 'wit'.

Let go and indulge in your true feelings...it's ok. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

Don't know what Leinart was expecting. Reggie was #2 in the draft, playing in every American's adopted city of New Orleans, getting a lot of PR for donating money to local charitable causes. He was in the line-up from day 1, and his team made the playoffs.

Matt, on the other-hand, was drafted #10 and began the season as an understudy in the desert to Kurt Warner. (They play football in Arizona?) I remember a preseason interview with the two of them and Warner saying right in front of Matt that he hoped to remain the starter for another 2 or 3 years before handing over the reins. Plus Matt's got a kid out of wed-lock and hangs with the skanky-headed Hollywood hos. Not quite Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Chevrolet. Maybe I'm wrong and that's the new paradigm, but the sponsors seem a little slow on the uptake.

Get over it Matt, Reggie had a better year!!!

Yeah, Leigh Steinberg is laughing all the way to the liquor store.

Our firm does a lot of sponsorship work and I know from other colleagues that Matt doesn't grade out that high. In comparison to Reggie, that gap increases. BHBoys got it right in that advertisers and marketing firms look for tie-ins that make sense. Reggie gets a lot of play for his work in New Orleans and helped his team go the playoffs, while Matt struggled on an admittedly worse team.

Plus Matt's off the field antics narrow his range of marketing options to supporting the Palms Casino and Maxim. At the end of the day, you've got to be a winner on the field in order to win off the field. You can see that in Eli Manning where he graded out high, but now doesn't have a lot of endorsements and marketing opportunities because he's struggled.

Having a solid reputation off the field helps get you over those dry periods as well, look at Peyton and how he kept choking in the AFC title game, but because he was such a good pitchman he loaded up on the endorsements anyway.

Matt needs to get realistic, clean up his act, focus on football and everything else will take care of itself.

You'll probably get a lot more front line endorsements if you also leak out how much your agent gave you for your junior and senior years!!

Well maybe if Leinart cleaned up his act, he would be more appealing to advertisers. He has to appeal to Middle America and having an illegitimate child, while chasing other women around, is hardly what makes a role model.

Matt batted the little kids aside when they wanted an autograph after practice. So much for the role model. I stood by amazed! Going to practice he shouted "after practice" and after practice he shouted get out da way you little bastards, I'm tired....not that bad really but the body language was there.
