Here's answers to most questions. If you have additional questions, post them in the ``Open Forum'' entry.
The corners are young and raw. But sophomore Shareece Wright could be a starter down the road.
Tailback obviously has the greatest depth, although Joe McKnight might need to live up to his hype to give the team a gamebreaker. Kicker is a worry with no one behind David Buehler until the fall although Brook Van Muijen is supposed to walk on. Fullback is also a major concern, with little behind Stanley Havili (Jordan Campbell, maybe Michael Coleman).
So far, C.J. Gable probably stood out the most among the tailbacks. Alfred Rowe is getting some reps but that position is still OK depth-wise depth wise with Taylor Mays and Mozique McCurtis.
No running backs will be moved until the fall when the freshmen arrive.
Jeff Byers, it turns out, is a guard and not really suited to be a center. O'Dowd will be in the mix but could have the same problems as Matt Spanos and Nick Howell learning to work with unfamiliar QBs. Spanos needs a 2.3 GPA and says he should be able to make it.
Patrick Turner, David Ausberry and Vidal Hazelton have all had their moments this spring with Turner the most consistent.
Everson Griffen could start and at the very least will be part of the rotation next season.
The defensive line has been strong, particularly Sedrick Ellis, but they have the advantage of going against a line that is making some transitions.
The coaches are trying to give Allen Bradford an extended opportunity this spring, especially in last weekend's scrimmage. Whether he plays depends on the freshman.
The running game needs a breakaway threat. It could be Emmanuel Moody but he is hurt right now. Stafon Johnson is also hurt. It's hard to say if he will play next season. Or if he will even be at USC by the fall. Not sure why he played in the Washington State game. Remember Ryan Powdrell was thrown into the Virginia Tech game for one play and needed to petition the NCAA for his redshirt year.
There are a lot of injuries every year. Pete Carroll likes to practice hard and that's a byproduct. The starting cornerbacks in two years could be Cary Harris and Kevin Thomas. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Josh Pinkard at corner with Ellison and Mays at safety. It's the strongest secondary by far.
Mitch Mustain is very serious about USC. Some believe he is not committed to avoid angering Arkansas fans while he is still a student.
I'm not sure why a lot of the characters are allowed to show up at Howard Jones Field.
The coaches believed Stafon Johnson did not work hard or block well in training camp. Others debate that point. Johnson also hurt his shoulder, which hampered his progress and he never really recovered.

Your best notes...
Nice to see agreement to what I said 2 seasons ago that injuries are by-product of PC's system. I question if the kids are bones and ligaments are developed well enough at that age for a pro type workout all though certainly it has devloped the players skills.

I agree with the rest of the board, and open forum once a week or once a month would be great. Good job Scott.
