And another one bites the dust. USC is a freaking joke.

13-9

And 13-9, your an even bigger joke. You name any "U" (including UCsuckLA) that doesn't have a problem with student-athletes, regarding academics. And your such a
"brain-surgeon", you show your true intelligence by hanging out on a USC blog. What a pure genius you are, but I guess that shows what the IQ and class is over in Westwood, a big fat ZERO!

It's YOU'RE not YOUR you moron. How is that degree working out for you? Your grammar sucks, your team sucks, and I've got scoreboard bitch.

13-9

13-9: your sentence should read "I've got the scoreboard, bitch." Otherwise, we might think you're trying to say you have something called a "scoreboard bitch."

Damn, 13-9. You should really get that "scoreboard bitch" thing checked out by a doctor. Sounds nasty.

By the way, explain to me how kptrojan's team sucks. Would be interesting to hear from someone supporting another team that hasn't proven a thing in college football.

13-9, how's that grammar working out for you, "moron"! 66-19, nice slam but 13-9 is too much of an idiot to realize that it was a slam. In the words of the pimp in the box Jim Rome, Rack'em!

Geoff, just like 66-19, nice slam! 13-9 will wake up to reality on 12/1/07, when he finds out how much UCsuckLA football does suck.

quoting Jim Rome gets you automatic entry into the idiot hall of fame...

If you choose to correct others' minor errors in grammar, you better make sure your comment is immaculate.

As for sports (presumably what we're here for), this story only indicates that USC does not let its athletes slide. Let's face it: D-I football players are not gaining college admission for their academic prowess and disciplined study habits. If the university has an impartial grading system, then a few athletes are not going to make the cut.

13-9 obviously has nothing to contribute to the world so (s)he spends their time dropping idiotic comments on a USC blog... so why bother to respond to this loser?

At least USC enforces academics over athletics. Get the grades up or don't play - no matter who you are. I would just like to see less of these issues...

13-9 please explain 76-66 National Disgrace. I'm new at this, so I need to know what does the 76-66 stand for? And why would that be a NATIONAL DISGREACE, it appears that it has something to do with BB. A sport your school is looked at for excellence.

13-9, is an idiot and should be on "Are you smarter than a 5th Grader" which he obviously is NOT. Let's see, who was a convicted drug seller, who parks in handicap parking, -- oh wait these are FUCLA jocks...WOW what a great education can do for you, even at FUCLA! Wait did you not have a head basketball coach who lied on his expense report. Oh wait, did he not have a assistant coach who gave a PE test asking his basketball players "How many point for a basket in basketball" Oh wait, this is at FUCLA where your degree is WORTHLESS TO NOTHING.

FIGHT ON!

Do Chris Barret and Matt Spanos share a dorm?

Do Chris Barret and Matt Spanos share a dorm?

The PE test was at Georgia. Jim Harrick's son never coached at UCLA.

Daryl Henley and the handicapped parking doesn't compare to the long list of crimes and NCAA infractions at SC. Do the names Eric Wright, Ray Malaleuga, Mark Sanchez, Herschel Dennis, Reggie Bush sound familiar? This doesn't include a number of famous alumni. Since you mentioned Daryl Henley, there was OJ Simpson, RJ Soward, Todd Marinovich, Cole Ford, Winston Justice, and Fostee Rucker! Even Snoop Dogg gets arrested and comes out of the police station wearing a Dwayne Jarrett jersey.

Weren't there some football players / families recently living in apartments / house that they couldn't afford? Jarrett and Bush!

Wasn't the whole team taking all their classes at LA Trade Tech or Ballroom Dancing on campus?

The 66-19 that you keep referring to must be the $C NCAA infractions to arrests ratio!

Jim Harbaugh doesn't need any inside sources in the NFL to know that Slick Petey won't be back after next year!

Wow, you bruins are truly obsessed with USC.

bill -

you're gay!

I gotta admit, these "Bruin fans' are starting to scare me a little..they are on here 24/7 365..I wonder if any of them have restraining orders out on them..

anyway, these guys better hit the books, Barrett and Simmons are damn good players..

I agree, this obsession with us is getting a bit scary. Is this all they think about all day long? Sad.

Is it time we placed more focus on top players and their academic history? I know Pete is instructed to win championships AND graduate student athletes - is this possible in a highly challenging academic environment?

Cut those Bruin fans some slack guys.

I mean I can understand the USC obsession of 13-9 and Bill and their need to be on this board. If the highlight of my team's last decade was a Sun Bowl victory over a middle of the pack Big 10 team...I'd do my best to escape as well. I mean seeing your crosstown rivals hoist trophy after trophy must get old. And as much as they'd like to think that one lucky victory erases seven brutal defeats...we all know it doesn't...otherwise they'd be trying to pump up their own team on their own board!
And no Bill, 66-19 was the score you got plastered by. Your wish for NCAA sanctions reminds me of Linus and his quest for the Great Pumpkin...you keep waiting...but they're just not coming. Ever! But keep chasing that rainbow.

"Daryl Henley and the handicapped parking doesn't compare to the long list of crimes and NCAA infractions at SC. Do the names Eric Wright, Ray Malaleuga, Mark Sanchez, Herschel Dennis, Reggie Bush sound familiar?"

Eric Wright transferred rather than face sanctions for his ecstasy possession and sexual assault charges. Ray Maualuga (your slaughtering of his name was offensive and negates your point of immaculacy) was facing his father's cancer and resulting death and had some anger issues, which he sorted out with counseling, thereby being a man and facing up to the consequences. Mark Sanchez was a victim of an opportunistic co-ed who, after reveling in her claim to fame of having been with a football player, started to feel guilty and told her mom, who influenced her to press charges a day later. Had she not consented, had she been assaulted, wouldn't Sanchez's roommate just a few feet away have woken up and interceded? Decency trumps turning a blind eye, and even the so-called victim admitted the roommate didn't wake up and she didn't protest at the time. Hershel Dennis (again with the spelling, at least get that part right!) too had sexual allegations against him, but nothing could be proven, and charges weren't filed. There is no evidence of Reggie Bush's alleged wrongdoings; if there was evidence, wouldn't something be done to remedy it? If anything it was his step-father's issue, and still, the supposed situation is idling since conflicts-of-interest appear to show vendettas against him.

"This doesn't include a number of famous alumni. Since you mentioned Daryl Henley, there was OJ Simpson, RJ Soward, Todd Marinovich, Cole Ford, Winston Justice, and Fostee Rucker! Even Snoop Dogg gets arrested and comes out of the police station wearing a Dwayne Jarrett jersey."

Every single school has had athletes with off-the-field issues, and most of USC's happen after they leave, which is a testament to the oversight of the program. Justice was disciplined if you recall, and dropped off the field, essentially. And it's Frostee Rucker, you dolt. His charges stemmed from his year in Colorado, and from his ex, whose timeline proved her story was contrived. I know Frostee, and I'll vouch for him any day. About your jab about Snoop Dogg, recall that someone wearing a UCLA jersey gauged out a USC fan's eye at the Rose Bowl this year.

"Weren't there some football players / families recently living in apartments / house that they couldn't afford? Jarrett and Bush!"

So if my roommate last year had been an athlete, she would've been sanctioned, because my family helped her with the rent. In my religion, it's called a mitzvah. As for the Reggie Bush situation, I'd like to see evidence, not just hearsay from agents with grudges. In all seriousness, I don't know that Bush really knew of the situation. I don't get the idea of mortgage and whatnot and I'm the same age as Bush. If someone offered my family a no-strings-attached deal on a rental, I know my family would take it in a heartbeat. Not all of us come from upper-class households, remember. Some of us are straight-up middle class, trying to improve our plight. I'm becoming a journalist, Bush became a football player. Heck, without him, I wouldn't have a career ahead of me!

"Wasn't the whole team taking all their classes at LA Trade Tech or Ballroom Dancing on campus?"

No, you're confused. You must be referring to UCLA's transfer students. So Leinart took ballroom dancing; he had his major requirements finished and needed an elective. If I had the chance, I would take a dance class. USC has some of the best in the world teaching here, whether for journalism, IR, business, engineering, or dare I say, ballroom dancing.
