Position Talk

USC coach Pete Carroll said Chauncey Washington would be the No. 1 tailback if there were a game tomorrow. C.J. Gable would be a co-No. 1 if he were healthy.
Drew Radovich won the right tackle position while the center spot will remain up for grabs until training camp.

Come on Kris O'Dowd

What about Herschel Dennis? Is it the issue regarding a sixth year of eligibility?

Yeah let's get some respect for O'Dowd !

Meaningless, anyway...when McKnight and Green get here that will change...

What is it with fans that just assume the new players will automatically be the best. Last year it was wait till Stafon and Hazelton get here. This year it's McKnight and Green. Last time I checked players still have to learn the playbook, gain weight and figure out what they can and can't do at this next level where they aren't always far and away the best players on the field.

IMO the only player incoming I see getting any extended playing time in 2008 is Griffen. As a rush DE he should have the easiest transition to this level and should be able to get in the games on obvious passing downs.

Mc Knight will play some but I would be shocked if he plays more than 2-3 snaps/game and even then probably largely as a decoy.

PC said players compete to start. It is clear Herchel Dennis wom the competition. He is a veteram who undersands system. In Spring he was best. He can take a lot of carries. To thank him for his performance and kiss him off seems unfair. Path can do job and wim games with his determination.

Above "Path" is "Patch"

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
