Taylor Mays is a "stud". Coming out of high school, he was recognized by several publications as the top athlete in the 2005-06 recruiting class. Taylor is well on his way to becoming the top safety in college football.

Forget that, make him a WR. At 6'4, 235, and a 4.28 he will be a bigger deal than Calvin Johnson.

Yeah? Well what did the guys holding the stop watches say?

Who cares how fast he is; if he doesn't wrap his arms when he tackles it won't matter. He is going to be one of the best, but if he is going to be one of the greatest trojans; he needs to be taught the basics...where is the the DB coach?

Was this on grass wearing cleats? How was it timed, hand held or electronic?

Mitch - Mays is 6'4...235 lbs...runs the 40 in 4.28... hits people like a truck...AND he is only a true sophomore...but every time there is a post about him we get the "he can't wrap his arms around anyone" post.

Mays looked great in games last year (especially as a true freshman), looked great in practice...and only has 1 year of college ball under his belt...fine tuning his technique will come, but if you can't get excited about watching Mays’ develop into another USC All PAC-10 player...you got issues.

It must have been the same practice field clock that timed the Pro Day! All the times listed were .4-.5 seconds faster than the hand-helds!!

More impressive is that Mays ran Patterson down -- a better barometer of his speed than a 40 time, which gets clocked on who moves first, not necessarily who's fastest.

bill, you're still a turd

You got to love that Bill is so obsessed with USC Football that he keeps up on AND feels compelled to make a comment on USC Pro Day 40 times. I bet Bill has a Reggie Bush jersey in his closet.
