Typical. Guess he doesnt want to try and explain his decision to leave early to be a second round pick.

Who are some other receivers coming out next year? I think he should have stayed another year but it is his decision. He will look a little silly when he gets taken in the 2nd round.

Its not his fault. When he declared everyone was saying he was the second best WR in the nation behind only Calvin Johnson.

Then those four months between Bowls and the Draft came and his stock fell. But when he declared, everyone was saying 10-15 first round range.

I hope steve smith goes way ahead of him in the draft

I wish DJ only the best in the future. I don't know how any true SC fan could wish ill upon a WR who did so much for us in his time. He's a kid that made the best decision with the information he had. I will continue to root for him just as I do all Trojans that have gone to the NFL (and even some in the CFL - Mr. Soward).

What's he gonna do, start crying?

Wait, NM, I would to if I got screwed over like that

It just goes to show you that the NCAA should have a rule for football like they have for basketball. After declaring for the draft, a kid should have a deadline whereby he can withdraw his name. Let's face it. These agents are notorious. They'll tell a kid anything to get him to sign with them. If he drops in the draft, the agent has nothing to lose, especially if he has a whole stable of recrutis.

I have nothing but fond memories of DJ making spectacular catches, torching the domers, and will forever be a fan.

If he slips to the second round, he will be a real find for some team. Expect him to be an excellent pro given a little time. Remember, he's still a young pup, not yet 21 years old. I can understand redshirt-juniors jumping, or guys like Clausen that were held back in school to get a competitive edge. Do you realize that DJ is only one year - almost to the day - older than Jimmy Clausen? He's got 3 years and 41 TD grabs to his name before Jimmy even takes a snap. DJ could have stuck around another year. Can't really blame the advisors. A guy without protypical WR speed has got to know his stock might slip especially when compared to a Calvin Johnson. But another guy named Johnson (Keyshawn) made a pretty good living catching the ball on Sundays without ideal speed.

It never ceases to amaze me how Trojan fans can wish this slide upon DJ. You gotta love DJ! I want DJ, Steve Smith & Ryan Kalil to all go round one & D. Sartz to go on the 1st day of the draft!

I totally agree with JAM's post - Think about the last game we saw DJ on the playing field at the Rose Bowl, think about 4th & 7 with double vision, think of the balls he snared out of mid air. DJ can BALL!!!

Lets hope he goes between pick 19 & the end of round 1!
