That's a tough break for Chris, but he is the one responsible for not making it happen. Hopefully all of the student athletes will learn from this. Good luck to Chris with his future, may be he can get himself back in school, and finish that degree.

It said only 6 units, isn't that only two classes?

Most classes are 4 units, so 6 units would be either two classes that meet for shorter periods during the week or a 4 unit class and something like a 2 unit PE or dance class.
Either way, it's ridiculous for Barrett to have flunked his classes. Maybe he can join Troy Van Blarcom in driving a bus!

Unless things have changed since I was in school a student needs a minimum of 12 unit's to be considered full time so he did pass some classes.
It would be a little funny if he did fail the Ballroom Dancing class that Leinart was taunted for taking.

Marquis Simmons committed to USC. He was offered by Oregon,UCLA,and Arizona State. He is the younger of Melvin Champ Simmons, Maurice Simmons.

The Simmons pipeline continues, any others left?

This guy has been a mess since he arrived. Manny Wright II. Never could find him a position or he didnt have the drive to establish himself.
At some point the coaches have to put aside the 5-star this and 4-star that crap and actually talk to the kid to see if he has a winner inside.

All those who say good ridance failed to learn in life equal opportunity does not mean equal ability. A lot of people can't handle college. That is why a lot leave after 3rd year. For Barrett this may have been last chance to play NFL or coach.
He didn't have it, and USC should do better to redirect these guys. It is a lost too for Troy as it is a thin position.
As to those who sat go drive a bus, acutally that's not so bad, more honest than most CEO's or politicians. Still to those who say it, I wish it I could say good riddance.

I agree with Pablo. Why kick a guy to the curb who has given sweat, blood, and tears for us on the grid iron.
It's unfortunate that there are a number of young men who are very athletically inclined who fall short academically. If you don't believe me go to the state of Florida and to SEC Country and examine the academic short falls of some of the top players they produce.
I wish Chris the best in the future. I appreciate the effort and enjoyment he gave to all us Trojan fans on the field. Hopefully he will get a chance to show his stuff as a Free Agent with an NFL team.
