Believe It Or Not

One of the major pre-season football magazines is considering making USC linebacker Rey Maualuga its national defensive player of the year.

I figure its Jim Lauringits (sp?) out of Ohio State. Kids good.

Rey Rey is the perfect person to represent defense at the collegiate level. All you have to do is replay him hitting UCLA's QB out of bounds over and over and over...

He also would be a great face for the SC defense. We are very lucky to have Rey, and his junior year in the 3-4 should be special.

This year should be special, and it starts with the defense. Back to real SC football.

He'd better get his props while he can because Everson Griffin will be in the mix also in the coming seasons.

It's about time Rey gets some ink. Too bad its outside the trojan family; his name wasn't event mentioned in the "Trojan Rewind" Spring Practice addition on Fox. He is really working hard on school as well as in the weight room. Way to go Uso!!

Of course, the kid deserves it.

He's not even the best linebacker on the team, much less in the country.

Defensive Player of what year?

Shouldn't they wait until the 2007 season ends? or at least started?

Rey is a stud. He appeared to have less body fat during the spring drills. I saw him run down and catch one of our best WR from behind. So he has the speed. The Kid hits as hard as any I have seen since Dick Butkus.

The only thing keeping Rey from greatness is playing a smart game. Not overrunning plays. Making better reads. Hopefully he has improved on this from last season.

Ok seriously, somebody tell me how they can present a defensive player of the year award when the year's season hasn't started.

Wait, I forgot. Nobody has more sacks in the 2007 season than Rey.

....and nobody has gained a single yard vs. the Trojans 2007 defense which Rey anchors.

And for those that didn't catch on to my sarcasm (like in the L.B. Poly comment).

My last few posts ..sarcasm.

Y'see, nobody has more sacks than Rey because a single game of the 2007 hasn't been played. If no games have been playeed than no one can sack a QB. So although Rey has no sacks, neither does anyone else.

Hepefully everyone will be able to connect the dots and figure out the no-gain comment that followed.

My point? It's silly to name a defensive player of the year when the have nothing to base it on.

Think about the "Believe It Or Not" subject title Wolf posted.

...get it.

...super.

You basically just talked to yourself for about twenty minutes.

Making him the pre-season national defensive player of the year is just a prediction, like every other pre-season rankings or awards.

Go Rey!

Holy crap TrojanRAB! What the hell just happened?

You started out by making some clever observations then proceeded to point out (to yourself apparently) that you were being sarcastic then quickly decided to explain (again to yourself) the point of your original posts even though you already said you were being sarcastic in the post prior. And all this without any responses from a single soul...

If the six posts you made between 9:15 and 9:38 aren't a sign of paranoia run rampant I don't know what is.

I think I just witnessed the first completely unprovoked meltown of a poster on this board and I am officially scared.

That makes plenty of sense. The cheerleader who cheered when the opponent scored twice can even understand. The California Penal system has completed their football season already!!

Assault On!!

Bill, still being a turd!
YOU are one sick F*&%

Bill's vote went to John Hale

ps. BIll, go f--- yourself.

Ryan Kalil landed that cheerleader Bill refers to.

Bill landed his right hand

Dear Bill,

GO F--- YOURSELF!

Just getting them all out of the way early :)

Trojan RAB

If you are going to play with yourself do it on your own time. It is bad enough having these Ruins all over our board we don't need your sad attempt at a comedy routine. Way to go Rey Rey you the man!!!!!!

wakehead:
Your CFB knowledge is ZERO, yes ZERO...

Seems like a few bloggers here need Lysol mouthwash, do you get the hint you foul mouth individuals?

Gillyking:
I am a big fan of Everson Griffen who is a super athlete. The problem is he is raw as they come. He is NO Rey Maualuga. Furthermore he has to earn his stripes, OK? Please? I hope your CFB knowledge is better than wake6830...

I would agree with wake6830 re: Rey not being the best linebacker on the team (IMO Keith Rivers is) but I guess it's all in how you define 'best'.

Rey is certainly the most aggressive, physically gifted and intimidating LB on the USC squad. But he as of the end of 2006 was still over-running plays and getting out of position far too often leaving scrambling QBs, RBs and TE's lots of space to operate off of bootlegs, playaction and on check downs. It's the one reason we saw so much of Lua all last season.

Word out of spring camp though is that he's improved vastly in that area. If he truly has gained the discipline and decision making skills to match his physical prowess he certainly could be one of USC's all time greats.

Door Prize:

Who needs spell check when you have Door Prize. You must truly excel as a 2nd grade teacher. Keep up the good work.

Sure Griffin is raw just coming out of high school but he's closer to the NFL in ability as a DE right now than Rey M currently is.

Fighton,
Actually, Door Prize is a second grade student. He is in the top 60% of the class in spelling, and he has learned one grammar rule.

66-19:
I doubt you can't match my college credit hours that I have in two science courses alone. You don't know a damn thing about me so save your freaking BS.
Gillyking:
The LB experts that I have been in contact with contradict your questionable opinion, Sir.

Door Prize,
I doubt I can't match your college credit hours too (note sentence construction, idiot). I have a bachelor's and a doctorate from USC. As for science classes, I admit that I only took two, so I guess what you were trying to say in your post is technically accurate if your science courses were more heavily weighted than mine.

I think there is a good chance you're just posting idiotic comments to elicit responses, so I'm going to stop directing comments to you, Door Prize. If that is the case, congratulations, I bit. If not, maybe you should step away from criticizing others for a while.

Door Prize was up late. The lesson plan for tomorrow must be busy. Hope your late night doesn't ruin your class, your kids would be disappointed.

You have to realize, Door Prize is El Capitan's new name. He changed his name after constantly being humiliated by everyone on this board for his spelling errors, grammatical errors, and his absurd claims of racism against anyone who thought that Booty and Mustain were good QBs.

He's too embarrassed of his own university (because he never went to/graduated from one), so he has to come on a USC board and kiss the collective asses of superior Trojans.

He will never say where he went to college (if he even went to one), so he just jumps on our bandwagon and attacks everyone in sight; always with poor English that comes from being a ghetto thug.

I wonder when he will change his name once again....

Mitch, Congratulations on writing your first big boy post that does not criticize Taylor Mays!

El Capitan...err...Door Prize...are we having a little identity crises here? And are these the kind of intelligent posts that we can now expect from you under your new, secret alias of Doorknob? ...more antagonistic and incoherent garbage that does not address Scott’s threads or talk about USC Football?

And what’s up with your sudden influx of nasty verbal assaults on other USC Bloggers? (Another telltale sign of deep seeded personal issues.) Do you remember back in the day when you used to tell other Bloggers that bad language did not enhance the quality of one’s posts?...kind of hypocritical now, don’t you think?

And for someone that “claims” to be a USC Football fan...it is kind of funny how you never stand up for USC against any of the USC-bashing Bruins....actually it seems like ALL you ever do on here is try to bate real USC fans/alums into stupid arguments over race or grammatical errors (does telling someone that they misspelled a word make you feel better about your own personal inadequacies?...Another telltale sign there.)

PS - We love how you constantly make personal attacks on fellow Bloggers, and then when they respond, you come back with the..."you don’t know a damn thing about me” line. FYI - We do...
you are just another resident nuisance Blogger on this website that did not go to USC!

And if you get your kicks by insulting people that don’t spell check their posts (which I personally think is kind of weird), AND you don’t want to talk about USC Football (which it doesn't seem like), may I recommend visiting www.insidesocal.com/ucla/...there are plenty of illiterate public school graduates over there that can’t spell a lick! They will love you.

JJ:
You poor USC graduate(?). What was your major mr. superior? BTW it is crisis NOT crises mr. perfect boy. See you guys verbally attacked MS day in day out and according to your KK standards that is fine. ALL of a sudden you can't take the same fecal content you were smearing on MS. Sounds like a double standard to me. I stay in contact with good decent USC faithful fans. About two weeks ago or so I got my USC Riddell Mini helmet!
Your friend TrojanEncore confused a boobe trap with a booby trap. I told him to start wearing his girlfriend boobe straps! Isn't that funny man?
Later

Thanks for spell checking my post (my secretary usually spell checks for me), and in the process further proving up my point. I am sure you feel better about yourself now...glad I could help!

JJ:
You blasted me for NOT saying anything when the Bruin fans were bashing the SC fans on this site. It is ironic and also hypocritical on your part when yourselves so called faithful USC fans were on Mark Sanchez back with every breath out of your mouths. You tell me? Be man enough and don't blame your poor secretary. You probably pay her Burger King wages. Is she pretty? Assuming you have a real secretary, do you?

JJ & co.:
It is odd that an expert sports writer or writers consider Maualuga as possible defensive player of the year and the self appointed CFB gods of this site throw-up their nauseating opinions. Anything is possible when you account for all the garbage said about Mark Sanchez.

Door knob...your bitterness is really alarming. Your goal to enable all of the regulars here-in is rediculous. Why you little punk, you've been reduced here to merely crying and whining. Of all of the great Latino friends and associates that I've made and enjoyed over the years, you are sadly probably the only one that does not display class or even machismo, relying instead on name changes, whimpering and disgusting tantrums petty fighting arguments and basic lack of civility that instead, just makes you look the fool. The one standout point that I must make is that you are the first Latin acquaintance that I've ever run across that actually has no honest classy self pride! It's obvious by your childish actions in this website. Why don't you just please go away..You don't really give a darn about USC football anyway and from all you've spewed upon these pages as either el capitan or doorknob, I doubt that anyone else even cares or respects one darn thing that you may ever write here again.
Sure hope that my spelling is ok.

To Doorknob - Post #1:

Hypocritical is "calling" yourself a USC fan and ignoring people that constantly bash USC while only attacking USC fans....you can look up the definition in your Webster’s Dictionary...it should be in there. Saying that you think one player is better than another player based upon what they do on the field is not a hypocritical statement...nor is it a racist statement.

And like I previously said...thanks for continuing to spell check my posts (as well as the posts od all of the other USC fans on this site), you keep proving my point and making yourself look like a bigger ______(well you know...but writing it won’t enhance the quality of my post)!

I wish I could be a real man like you(?)...but then I would have to change my alias on this Blog, stop writing posts that discuss USC Football, and only attack other USC fans that are too busy to spell check...and that ain’t going to happen!

PS - Yes, my secretary is pretty...but this is LA...and most secretaries are!

To Doorknob - Post #2:

I guess you finally did look up the definition of hypocritical because you actually make a legitimate point. But as they say, even a blind dog will find a bone every so often.

PS - Can you find the typo in my previous post?...I left it in there so you could correct me and feel good about yourself!

JJ:
You wasted your time with your BS. You have NOT disproved anything, period. You brought-up the racist point, WHY? I am surprised that you and the rest have NOT said anything about the LAPD brutality during the Chicanos march. Go ahead JJ have a blast shouting that I brought the race subject. I know you will. Borrowing Clint Eastwood's phrase:"Make my day". I clearly explained you and your friend's hypocrisy which equals a double standard. You guys don't know any better. Call me hypocrite ALL you want, that's cool!

Blame Whitey, good job.

Well, that's a surprise - Doorstop/Captain of a Gay Cruise brings up a completely unrelated topic so he can avoid admitting he's wrong as usual. Not one person has ever defended this tool, yet he keeps coming back for more doses of public humiliation! This is the only place he ever gets any feedback since he has no friends. What a lonely and sad 'man.'

Seeing a crazy Latino 'man' constantly getting mad because no one cares about him is not only funny, but also rather sad and pathetic.

Since he's not a Trojan, I wonder why he's so obsessed with us...?

92:
Simply put you are narrow minded redneck idiot.

The ethnic subject is relevant. The problem is a few of you refuse to face it. California is the most diversified ethnic state in the nation. USC is part of California, therefore is it any different?
Thank you
