Every Buck Counts

Matt Leinart charged the general public $20 to attend his birthday party in Phoenix last weekend, although he requested a VIP area within the VIP area where he stayed most of the night, according to the Arizona Republic. The paper reported Leinart finally left the VIP area at 1 a.m., when ``he meandered around the entire floor wearing what looked like an effortless smile while high-fiving his fellow athletes and getting especially handsy with women.''

This story is awesome. Where's the bad part in this story?

I'd also like to highlight that Matt Leinart had a stellar rookie season and looks as if he will be an NFL great in the future. And uh... let's not forget he has a Heisman Trophy and Two National Championship rings. He deserves to party. Probably the greatest QB in the history of the NCAA.

I wonder if Matt actually put the party on or if it was an associate of his. I dont think Matt needs the money. However you see this type of thing during Super Bowl where there are numerous parties with an admission fee. They have top named football players named as the headliner to draw a crowd.

I heard there were even a few parties at this past Super Bowl with big name Players as the host. A lot of money was raked in only to find that the player never knew anything about party.

I am an USC fan. I like Matt Leinart. In fact I predicted his Heisman trophy winning. Your "stellar" description of his rookie year is inaccurate as your usual Mitch Mustain endorsements....
Take Football 101, you need it.

Door Prize,

Is there a point to your comments?

You either incorrectly try to correct someone's grammar or attempt to point out that an opinion is wrong, which doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense since it's an opinion.

Why don't you just stop being so argumentative and trying to prove that you know more about SC football than everyone else.

Take this as constructive criticism (we all need it at some point), and not me trying to bait you into a racist tirade.

That self-celebratory birthday-party thing is so adolescent and smacks of reality-tv nonsense. Be a man, Matt, and grow a pair.

Skanky Matt only won one national championship and will handing the trophy to Oklahmoma before the start of the season when they announce all the NCAA violations.

When will Matt realize that no one paid money to see him, only to see and try to hit on the skanks that he hands with! Who would be dumb enough to pay money to see him?

Skank On!

Leinart r00lz. The dude's a player - so what? He deserves it. Dude turned down tens of millions of dollars to stick around and play for USC. Every other superstar jumps their junior year; Leinart had loyalty. Dude bleeds cardinal and gold. Even his baby's mom is a trojan athlete!

It is very simple, Matt Leinart did NOT have a stellar year in his rookie season in the NFL, period. The stats prove it, he got hurt as well. He looked god sometimes and others he looked as a struggling NFL rookie QB. Those comments are well documented.
Take it or shove it.

colemandg said:

Door Prize,

Very fair point and I actually agree with your assessment of Leinart's season, but you're final remark "Take it or shove it," as with your initial post is antagonistic and serves no purpose.

Rather than juvenile name-calling and being obnoxious, just state your opinion without trying to insult people, and your opinion may actually be respected.

Fight On!

I correct myself I used god instead of good.
You invited my uncivilized comment. As you stated I proved my point in the first post that you called antagonistic. That post has credibility. You decided to play loyal lawyer and you paid the price.
I stated you guys lay off Sanchez and I will be polite and civilized. Blast Sanchez ALL you want as an athlete and based on performance. Even a blogger on another forum made the same mistake of calling Sanchez a rapist. He did NOT rape anybody and the charges were dropped NOT to mention the intense investigation that lead to the DA's decision.
BTW what is so antagonistic about an inaccurate description? You blasted me for me stating the truth. Make-up your mind and stop contradicting yourself.

As you will soon learn the only way to deal with the little insecure racebater is to get him where it really hurts...ignoring him and thus disallowing him to "get off" by being the blogs devils advocate. This guy brings nothing whatsoever to this forum but hateful and negative self serving BS. Exactly why I (and a few others now) are refusing to reply to his anal nonsense. Soon enough Scott is going to also tire from his nonsense and then el capitan doorprize will be sent packing.
Fight On!

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
