Great Scott

Tailback Darrell Scott of St. Bonaventure made a strong impression at Stanford today in front of all the college coaches, and it sounds like a three-team race at the moment (USC, Penn State, Florida).
UPDATED: We heard through another source that Scott also wants to visit LSU and Florida State. As we suspected, the big drawback with USC is the number of tailbacks already on the roster.

That would be an outstanding pick-up if we could land him. (Just in case the other 10 All-American tailbacks we already have go down).

Is there any info on Defensive of Offensive lineman prospects? I'm not sure I want to hear about another tailback.

I just believe at some point in the next 2 yrs we are going to have a decension problem or someone wanting to transfer out from the many tailbacks that we already have.

William Green a lock to USC?

Darrell Scott likes USC the most and constantly visits the campus the most, but the amount running backs on USC concern him. USC running style best suit him though.

IF Scott that good; another reason not to warehouse RBs

I'm with TrojansEncore, how many more studs do we need in the backfield corral. It’s great that Troy is always on the top recruit’s lists of possible landing spots, but the coaches need to really think about the lack of strong depth on both the "O" and "D" lines. If “D Scott” is truly the stud that he is being projected as, I hope that he does come to Trojan Land, and makes the rest of the current ponies that much better, but we need to have the top “O & D” line prospects walking the hallways of Troy also.

We are going to have three scholarships opened up for 08 by departing RB's.

One will go to Curtis McNeal who will basically just replace Dez Reed as a return man.

I would not care if one other went to Darrell Scott.

The other will go towards a OLineman.

Scott Wolf

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
