13-9

Mitch remembers.

Excellent.

Another boy from the South that we can expose!

We did it to Booty once, and we will do it again this December.

Mustain will be next in 2008. Although, I can't be too sure. After all, Mustain couldn't hold Casey Dick's jockstrap.

You all better hope than Sanchez is starting in 08' and doesn't transfer. That is your only hope of beating us.

You only can beat us with OC QBS...HAHA!

When is USC gonna field a gymnastics team? Your stuck at 84 looking up at Stanford at 93 and us at 100.

13-9

Outstanding. Thank you SW for finally giving us the "real" information, that everyone new, and everyone has been waiting for. Now we only have (1) more year before we really get to see Mitch in Cardinal & Gold. Fight On!

after 100 comes USC...it seems like 100 has passed the retarded level and keeps posting this drivel even though everyone knows it's wrong.

What is it your trying to accomplish here mr 100 titles? Everyone knows USC has more sports titles than UCLA. It has been in everything from the OC register to this site. Do you think someone here thinks your post is the truth? Why do you keep writting this crap? Are you just that bored and have nothing else to do except post something that no one cares about?

Anyway, I thought 13 was Stafon Johnson's number?

USC1966, you're right. They're both listed on the roster with #13.

But it probably doesn't matter this season as Mustain is a redshirt.

The the fun begin!

Based on the genius that is 100 NCAA Titles’ latest masterpiece, there really isn’t any point in responding...but I am pretty bored today...and I can’t resist.

100 NCAA Titles...are you aware that ZERO of your 100 NCAA Titles are in Football...and are you aware that you are on a USC Football Blog?

And are you really “trying” to talk Women's Gymnastics smack?

If your answer to any of the questions above is “yes”...why are you writing irrelevant posts on Scott’s Blog...and if the answer to any of the questions above is “No”...why are you writing irrelevant posts on Scott’s Blog?

Actually UCLA had 1 football title thank you, in 1954. But that title is not recognized either. And yes it was long, long ago. And in fairness, UCLA also has/had about 20 titles or so the NCAA doesn't recognize for being in sports without true "championships." I think this is yet another lame pissing contest between both schools.

1966...that is interesting that Mustain “will wear No. 13" because Stafon was No. 13 last year.

Scott is this an ominous sign or did Stafon give Mustain his number? Pete seemed pretty high on Stafon at the alumni dinner last week.

...1954 was not a NCAA Title...hence ZERO of your 100 NCAA Titles are in football...thank you...just another lame pissing contest...started by another lame Bruin calling himself "100 NCAA Titles".

You know all about lame, reelidiot.

you are a despicable human being

Ahh my buddy 4thand9 who thinks it's cool to drag JRW into the rivalry. I think despicable was my term for you, it followed waste of flesh. But keep trying.

Damn, you're smart Reelidiot.

you're the waste of flesh, along with JRW.

you see, we feel about pete Carroll as you do about Wooden. so dont come here and try to throw people off guard with an innocuous usc post, then lob a grenade, as is your style.

and, yes, you idiot, i realize you used the term despicable. damn, you're smart.

question, have you ever attended a class at usc? i have.
so dont talk trash about an academic program you know nothing of. would you like it if i said that ucla is a lousy school academically. i wouldn't say that.

so just go enjoy your 13-9 tape. dec. 2 awaits.

these 9-13 idiots crack me up!! have you ever seen anyone ever make such a big deal about a 4 point victory in your life???
If you bruins get so "hot" about winning 1 game every 8 years.....then I hope you happiness for many years.

The Bruin destruction actually begins December 1st. So 13-9 only has about 6 months of life left. Pete Carroll will unleash hell on Westwood High on this already infamous day. Unfortunately, the Bruins will sustain real injuries, not the fake ones that Karl Dorrell is teaching them to stop the clock. Enjoy 13-9, because Pete is gonna eclipse 100 points in our vicory. FIGHT ON!!

http://uscsportstalk.blogspot.com

STOP THIS PISSING CONTEST NOW!! realruin is down wind...well...he likes ws.. so...go ahead, piss on him!!

That's great news!

Fight on, Mitch!

Now that Mustain's enrollment is official, does that mean a certain race baiting idiot on this board, who never even went to USC, has jumped off a building over the news?

We can always hope...

And with that comes the official end to Scott's weekly "Mitch Mustain has not made an official announcement yet about transferring to USC" blog post.

These past few months have been great, Scott. Never has there been a worst-kept secret in the history of college football.

But we had good times, didn't we?

We witnessed a crazy man, who had nothing to do with USC, get mad at everyone who wasn't Latino when they had the audacity to say that either Mustain or Booty were good! Then he would accuse them of racism!

It's a crazy world, isn't it?

So I'm glad this chapter is over and I look forward to when Mustain is named the starter in the spring of 2008!

Welcome to the Trojan Family, Mitch. You're the future of the SC football program. You'll make a great starter for us in 2008.

OK Scott I will toss that out as the first question for your next open forum..

MM and Stafon now have the same number..MM is not eligible this. But still...is there any meaning to that? Is Stafon not saying anything cause he is leaving? Or, which one will give up their number next year? Stafon moving to safety? (just a shot in the dark haha)

Does anyone know what number Stafon wore in High School?

It does seem weird that Mitch would have the same number 13. Although he will be redshirting, I'm sure they will line up in Scrimmages in the same backfield numerous times.

I would assume that Stafon will change his number. Although that would appear to be another slap in the face to him to have to do that.

It's entirely possible that Mustain will only be #13 for this year and when McDonald is gone by next year, Mustain will revert to his former #16.

Don't make any long-term bets on Mustain hanging around more than a year. If he gets beat out by Sanchez, expect him to pack his bags for Tulsa where he can get playing time immediately. Coming to SC for him is a no-lose proposition. Compete for a year in a pro-style offense against one of the best defenses in CFB. Much better experience for the year he's ineligible than sitting out among the cowpoke. He already knows the system they'll be running at Tulsa, and you know Gus Malzahn would welcome Mustain back in a heart-beat.

Pete also likes the idea because the competition will push Sanchez to get better. May the better man win.

Personally, I don't like an athlete that hedges his bet. That's not SC football. BE ALL IN or not at all.

Pete has gone on the record as saying that if two players are relatively equal, he will always go with the younger guy as he will have more eligibility ahead of him.

Of course, Mustain is worlds better than Sanchez, so it doesn't really apply in this case. Mustain is faster, has excellent accuracy, tremendous poise, has more experience, and is a proven winner.

Sanchez will probably transfer or he'll end up as the 3rd string in 2008, behind both Mustain and Corp.

Carroll clearly stated that everything is up in the air in a year's time and simply because someone has been on the roster longer, it does not mean anything come spring practice 2008. The edge is only applicable for May 2007, nothing else.

There were reasons why Mustain was brought in and it will all become evident in time. He will most certainly start at quarterback for USC after Booty is gone. Sanchez is finished.

Mustain is a "great investment for the future" of the Trojan football program.

can we start this season before we worry about next? This is what happened last December...

Back in February, I said on this very blog that the Mitch Mustain transfer was a done deal and that he would enroll at USC in May and would not officially announce it until then, yet a certain person kept attacking me and said that I didn't know what I was talking about.

Well, it surely looks like everything I said back then was right, down to the timetable.

There are a myriad of reasons why Mitch was recruited to USC by Pete Carroll and Steve Sarkisian, with the main one being that he was brought in to start. Since I was right all the way back in February, the certain non-believers should start to pay attention to my words.

Mitch Mustain will be the starting quarterback for USC in the 2008 season. He did not transfer to USC for any other reason, and time has shown that my words were entirely accurate.

Just remember these words come 2008.

SummerN, or should I call you "master-of-the-universe"...you are delusional. With your ability to "see-the-future", why don't you crawl off somewhere and start a cult where you can preach to the believers and toadies. Not here.

To be fair, Summer N was fairly consistent over the past few months, despite the naysayers. I'm glad he/she was right, though. Mustain is simply a monster and no way that anyone will stand in his way for the starting position.

According to the official USC press release:

"Dating back to his junior high school days, he has a 60-2 (.968) record as a starting quarterback (9-1 in eighth grade in 2001, 9-0 in both ninth grade in 2002 and 10th grade in 2003, 11-1 in 11th grade in 2004, 14-0 in 12th grade in 2005 and 8-0 as a freshman at Arkansas in 2006)."

That's AMAZING!

Welcome, Mitch!

Pete Carroll in the OC Register on whether Sanchez has the starting job wrapped up:

"Like always, it will be as equal a competition as we can get it. It will be interesting to see how far he comes in a year's time," Carroll said of Mustain. "It's wide open."

So, obviously, Sanchez has an uphill climb ahead of him.

Another quote about Mustain from Pete Carroll:

"We're real excited. We know how great a competitor he is," Carroll said. "He's been a winner all his life."

Mustain is the real deal. Can't wait until he starts against Virginia in 2008. It's going to be pure magic. Can't believe we got him. It's a great day to be a Trojan. Just a great, great day.

I have read on two other blogs where your beloved Mitch Mustain is NOT so revered...
The point is that you MM faithful make a harmless dent into a large number of USC fans that have an entirely different opinion...
Enjoy your fantasy while you can. Don't forget your candles, you hear?

Turnstiles:
OK, so what? You have chosen to ignore the quality of the California HS FB. Check out how many Arkansas HS' have made to the TOP 25 according to USA Today. How many Heisman trophy winners have come out of the state of Arkansas? Honestly, I don't know. I can rattle easily ten out of the state of California. If I'm NOT mistaken ALL seven USC winners are the from California. Should I continue? Here is my overkill Mater Dei is the ONLY HS in the nation that has produced two Heisman winners:
John Huarte ND
Matt Leinart USC
Please wipe-off the drooling of your face over MM...
Thank you
