When SC competes against other schools in football, or any other sports, do you cheer for SC to win? Or are you indifferent?

How was the athletic department able to reduce student seating in basketball for the next year?

This was not agreed upon in President Sample's or Lori White's apology to students over the football seating debacle. It was not agreed upon by Student Senate as part of the new Spirit Card/Season Ticket design. President Sample, Lori White, Steve Lopes, and Michael Jackson have said that no changes would be made without student consent. Yet someone did this unilaterally last year in football and now this year in basketball.

They used only one year of football attendance numbers to reduce the student seating at the beginning of last fall. Now they plan to use only one year of Galen attendance numbers to reduce student seating there too? People should learn from their mistakes and try not to repeat them exactly year after year after year.

No one in the athletic dept actually apologized after last year's football seating cattle run (It was left to Sample, White, and Jackson). I guess we shouldn't be surprised that they intend to get banish students at Galen too.

Why is it that the football program did nothing to commemorate the passing of Mike Bastianelli and Darrell Russell during the football season following their deaths? They didn't get a pre-game tribute, a moment of silence or even a helmet sticker to honor them. These were two guys who busted their ass on the field and were a major part of the 96 Rose Bowl team and both played a major role in breaking the streak vs the Irish.

A little off topic (football) but, any idea why Rodrick Stewart transferred?

Did LenDale White have attitude and/or conditioning problems while at USC?

His pro career has been questionable and I seem to remember hearing that he was 19 lbs. overweight by his final college game.

Any buzz on what is going on with the Bush investigation? Any ideas on what/when something might come down?

If the D plays to it's capabilities, there shouldn't be any shoot-out's or come-from-behind scrambles this year.

Will the coaching staff and offense impose their WILL this season by dominating with the run?

Is Mustain's enrollment at USC the most high profile transfer in the history of college sports? I don't recall ever seeing so much media coverage before for a player, of any sport, transferring to another university.

Is it true that all the season tickets for men's basketball at the Galen Center are soon going to require the purchase of personal seat licenses, in addition to being a member of a support group, and that no regular non-PSL and Cardinal & Gold (at the minimum) season tickets will be sold?

It's only May 30th (a little early to ask this question, but I'll ask any way), what game do you consider will be the toughest/ and or most important game for 2007? Thanks and I love the Open Forum. Keep it up SW.

Will USC be releasing a 2006 Season DVD? If so, when? and will it be a lame copy and paste of all the trojan rewinds like the last DVD?

The 2004 DVD was done the best, and not just because it was their best season.

Is there a place where we can see the list of all offers that USC has made to 2008 recruits. It's difficult keeping up.

In an earlier thread ("Decision looming" on 5/24), you wrote: "An NAIA school told me today they were interested in defensive tackle Chris Barrett, who they believe would have immediate eligibility if he transferred. That presents an interesting dilemma for Barrett, who is ineligible for the Trojans. Should he transfer to a lower division for his final season? Barrett might be tempted but another consideration is that he is only about three classes short of getting his degree at USC."

Here are my questions: If Barrett is academically ineligible, then how does he graduate if he stays at USC and takes three additional classes? Is the GPA requirement for getting a degree lower than the GPA requirement for staying eligible for football (or any other sport)?

In previous post a while back by you said you predict Rodrick Stewart coming back. I also think he will come back. Do you know if he had graduated already, so he can come to graduate school at USC with and play without having to sit out a year. He already had to sit out a year with his transfer to Kansas.

1. Why does it seem that year after year it is almost impossible for Carroll to recruit 5-Star "marquee" top-of-the-food-chain Cornerbacks to USC? I know we have developed some good ones, like Terrell Thomas, Eric Wright, and hopefully Cary Harris and Shareece Wright, and we have sometimes found "ringers" like one-year wonder Will Poole, and that Ronald Johnson COULD play there, but it seems as if we always get aced out in recruiting in that one particular position, and the top-notch Corners go elsewhere. Comments?

2. I have followed USC Football since 1972, and I remember in the late '70's and into the '80's and early '90's, USC used to run the Fullback more, at least 10 times per game; I remember guys like Cain, Allen, LeRoy Holt and Wes Bender take quick handoffs right "up the gut" that would catch the opponent's defense off guard, and result in some nice 6-10 yard gains, after giving it to the Tailback five or more straight times. It was a nice and successful change-up that resulted in some good gains. I am aware that we are thin at Fullback....but does this coaching staff know that it IS, in fact, legal to actually RUN THE FULLBACK occasionally? It seems like a completely unused tactic at USC for at least 15 years.

I read a few months back that was a possible option by the Coliseum Commission since talks with the NFL have stalled.
