Some News

USC center Matt Spanos did ``great'' in his spring-semester classes according to Coach Pete Carroll and will be eligible next season.
It's a relief to Carroll because Spanos was considered the No. 1 center after spring practices and will finally be eligible and being forced to sit out last season.

That's good news to hear about Matt (although I bet Kris O'Dowd will still have something to say about the starting Center position). So if Matt is truly taking the Center position, will that mean that Rocky Mountain Byers will be starting at one of the Guard spots (I hope so, and I hope that he remains healthy all season long). Fight On!

KPT..
I believe that Radovich moved to the right side, to make room for Byers to play next to Baker.

Gillyking

I was sort of hoping that Spanos would not be the starting center, though it's always good to hear that kids are improving their grades. It's amazing how well our kids do when they have to get good grades to remain eligible. Out of nowhere, they pull a 3.7 gpa. It just goes to show that it's all about effort.

Spanos is still on academic probation and has a long way to go to get back to being a student in good academic standing.

He got the minimum semester GPA to remain in school, but his cumulative GPA is not high enough to be removed from academic probation.

If he doesn't get the minimum semester GPA in December, he will be kicked out of school then.

Dont be tool...How do you know what GPA he received? I think you should relax and comment after you know the facts

Just stating the facts.

well in that case thanks for the facts TOOL!

Actually, the use of the word "tool" by fightonjsin in regards to Wanger is being used incorrectly. Someone who is a tool is "one that is used or manipulated by another or an institution."

In this case, the USC football team or Matt Spanos have fightonjsin being used to spread their case. As such, that actually makes fightonjsin the tool.

How ironic.

Thanks for the English lesson. You guys all realize this is a sports blog. Who cares about proper usage of words and grammar as long as the point has been conveyed.

You can coney a message gracefully and at the same time correctly. If you are going to brag that you were/are a college student then write like one. ONLY pregnant women are alowed to have excuses, OK? Save the bellyaching and excuses for goliathtrojan the queen _itch!

I made two spelling mistakes:
convey not coney and allowed not alowed.
Thank you
