Draft Day

Today's baseball draft will hurt USC because Chatsworth High School infielder Mike Moustakas, who signed with the Trojans, could be one of the first five players selected. I grew nervous when I interviewed Moustakas a couple months ago and he told me Scott Boras was an advisor.
The bigger mystery is whether outfielder/first baseman Mike Stanton of Notre Dame High School will get drafted high enough to sign instead of playing for USC. Baseball America lists him as the 128th-best prospect.
There's also the question of whether USC infielder Matt Cusick gets drafted high enough to go pro or returns for his senior year.

I doubt Moustakas will go top five.

While he should probably go 1st round, the best High School player in the nation is another California boy, Josh Vitters.

Vitters is widely considered the best High School field player and should be a top five selection.

Also David Price is the consenus 1st pick.

After that many people predict Rick Porcello, a high school pitcher from NJ.

Following them people expect Josh Vitters, Matt Wieters, catcher from GTech, and Phillipe Aumont, a pitcher from Quebec with 98 mph fastball.

Thanks for the update. Scott you rule unlike lazy Matt Kreddall.

And i totally eat my words as Moustakas is drafted 2nd overall.

Damn you baseball America! You are worthless!

Don't be to upset Trojan_JP, look at who drafted Moustakas... KC, and look who Moustakas' agent is... Scott Boros. Can you say "KC, show me the money". You know that Agent Boras is going to want a big ole check written out for Moustakas, and there's no way that KC is going to be able to dish it out". I say that Kreuter will get Moustakas for at least one season.

You can't go to college baseball for just one year. That is why some top talent goes to a JC, to get re-drafted in a different slot. If Moustakas goes to SC, which I doubt, he has to be there at least two years.

Hopefully he goes to SC, maybe you will beat us once next year. Scoreboard in Football, Basketball, and Baseball.

Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
