Tailback Joe McKnight admitted he got homesick when he went home last week but said is OK now and never reconsidered his college choice.
``I got a little homesick but I was the only freshman out here at the time,'' McKnight said. ``I don't think I'll go back home for a while now. I'm not going to (transfer). I'm happy here.''

This is completely normal. The same thing happened to DJ when he was a freshman. As soon as he got some playing time his worries were mostly over. MK is in good hands.

Catching passes from Peyton Manning is something you don't get to do at too many other schools in the country!
He made the right choice, and now realizes yet another benefit of that decision.

Would somebody take this kid under his wing and be a big brother to him? Joe's coming all the way from LA to L.A.; he needs someone to look after him and make him feel comfortable in the big city. I've got an idea, since Booty is also from Louisiana and he needs a better running game this year, why doesn't he play the part of mentor. I know Gable, Johnson, Moody, et al. probably won't want to help the competition, but somebody's got to do it. Moving from a small town to a big city where you know no one must be pretty scary for the kid.
FIGHT ON!

miguelito, Carl's Jr is on the phone for you. Apparently you left your apron on the stove again. Get back to work flipping those burgers.

Good point Sureshot. I was thinking the same thing recently about some of the kids from out of state. I'm not surprised about the home sickness.

Joe or anyone else is welcome to visit the church I attend here in Inglewood. We have services the next few weeks for men and those wanting to mentor to youngsters without male role models. We have an 1130 AM service this Sunday strickly for males.

We are meeting this Sunday at the Faithful Central Bible Church 321 N. Eucaluptus Ave. However we normally meet at the Inglewood Forum on Sundays.

We had about 1800 men and boys at our Service last Sunday. The whole messages is about men taking up leadership roles in their families and projecting strong positive male role models.

We have other USC students and alums that attend our normal services. So it will be a good place for Joe or anyone else to take up roots. We also have a number of folk from Louisiana so Joe will be at home there.

I think it is a positive place for a kid or anyone who is a long ways from home to find warm surrounding.

I'm sure if Joe's living conditions were better he would be ok. How about moving him out of South Central to Westwood. Pete can pick him up in his limousine everyday.
