Transfer Time
Linebacker Josh Tatum is transferring from USC. His top choice is Miami.
The reasons for transferring appear murky and we'll address them later.

About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

Good luck Josh. Curiously is Josh any relation to Jack Tatum? Thanks.
I believe Josh is the nephew of Jack Tatum.
This is so bizzare, he really never even gave himself a chance.
ECT, where do you live? If they can convince him to stay? Maualuga might go to the NFL and Rivers graduates so there are two spots right there... Also keep your fingers crossed hoping that Cushing returns for his senior year.
Stay tuned
Josh Tatum is the son of Jack, way too many lb's to worry about him leaving.
That sucks the big one
Josh Tatum is NOT related to Jack Tatum. It's a shame that the coaching staff stuck with their commitment to him after a serious high school injury, and now that he's recovered, he decides to leave.
Pshaw--a four star recruit? more scholarship room for another five-star.
Scout had Tatum as a five star LBer in 2006 and is the second 5 star player to transfer out of SC from that class.
Door Prize - I live right out side Manhattan in NJ. I went to USC, Wesleyan University and Columbia Business School. I'm a Wall St. commodity trader. I apologize if this is too much info, but I often wonder who are some of these people who post on this site. I go back to SC every fall for at least one game. Brian Cushing is from the town right next to where I live and attended Bergen Catholic. He seems to get better every year. I hope he stays through his senior year.
Sad story. I tutored Josh during the year and he was always so knowledgable about players coming in and talked very highly of the coaching staff and his teammates. He used to always talk about how he was ready to go and that he couldn't wait to get on the field. Sad to see him go.

ECT:
No problem. If I'm not mistaken Antwine Perez also from NJ was in the same class as Tatum.
Again thanks
So after Rivers and Matthews graduate, and Rey M, Cushing and Maiava head for the NFL after this season, does that make M. Smith, L. Brown and Mike Morgan our LB's?
USC1966...how could you leave out Galippo from that discussion?
and (knock on wood) brendan beal and arthur brown?
Good call duckness. Galippo will be a 3 year starter at MLB. The dude's a stud. K. Maiva will start in River's place and probably Brown at WLB.
Maiava that is.
Rivers is the WLB so Maiava and Brown can't both start there...I assuming that was a typo...
If Maiva comes back he would prob start at WLB and then it would be up to CC and staff to see if they feel Gallippo or Brown should be MLB...don't know who would be SAM as Mike Morgan is always hurt..I suppose they could move Brown over there...
HOW ABOUT A RB AT EVERY POSITION?
At the SAM spot, i'm thinking Allen Bradford would be a perfect fit and would DOMINATE, if he put his mind to it - speed to match up with any TE and size and strength to stop the run.
Coming in, ESPN did have him as the #3 OLB after all...
All in all, this newfound
"lack of depth" and playing time is just another carrot Coaches Carroll/Holt can use to reinforce their emphasis on open competition.
anybody knows why he's leaving? On a chat site, it was suggested it was due to a lack of effort on his part.
Bradford should be moved back to LB. We've got enough Freaking RB's. We've got enough LB for now, but I can't say that after this year.
