Uh Oh
Freshman tailback Joe McKnight, the most anticipated recruit, already suffered a groin injury at USC while doing leg squats. He's the second player to get hurt doing squats in a week, following wide receiver Jamere Holland's pulled hamstring.

Scott,
I had a theory about guys like Holland and McKnight getting injured doing squats. The fact that they are or were in their Track and Field season that calls for calf muscles to really be stretched out. Is it a good idea for them to be doing exercises that calls for building muscles in the Calves?
Especially for a guy like Holland who was prepping for the NCAA Championship 4 x 100 relay team. Also having to go and do squats with the football team. I'm not sure thats a good idea. I remember my self. I played football and baseball in school. During the season of Baseball I didnt want to lift weights to build muscles. I wanted to only stretch the calf muscles out. I would wait till baseball was over till about July before i started any Muscle building exercises for football.
