I know gaining 8 to 10 pounds for a lineman this early in his career can be a bad thing, but what about this case? Could it be 8 pounds of muscle? Or is the implication that he's been sitting around eating & gaining unwanted weight?
As soon as these kids sign the LOI they are given a playbook and a USC workout plan.
That was back in Feb 8th, that is almost five months ago. If the player did what he is supposed to, gaining eight pounds of good muscle before reporting to school is easily believable and a good thing.
I hope this is an indication of his desire to take ownership of the tailback position. WR and TB will be developing positions this coming season. I'm expecting him to learn the playbook and become a factor this year.

I totally agree that Joe Mc will be a big factor for the "O", and for special teams in 07! Its great to have a kids like Joe McKnight, RoJo and Broderick Green available (and I'm not taking anything away from "Magic Tyler". I can't wait to see him on the field also). These kids are going to make the vets that much better.

Concur with kptrojans. I cant wait to see these new kids in action. The quality of this class is going to improve everyone. These recruits are going to be extremely exciting. You forgot to mention Griffin O'Dowd and Galippo KP...

Your right Gillyking, I should have made mentioned of the Man-child Griffin and the Kris & Chris show, but I was thinking more a long the lines of the "O" skill positions. But don't get me wrong, there is no doubt that these (3) will have a big influence on the field, and on the vets (especially Griffin). Good call on your Gillyking part for talking about them.
Actually,I think that we are going to see some really interesting matchups regarding posession receivers also. Ausberry,VH-1,Patterson,Holland and Rojo! These guys are currently getting no respect because of the previous greatness and notoriety of DJ and SS..but time will soon tell and I have a suspicion that all of these guys will make an impact this very season. We should also be throwing to the backs a lot more this year. It's all seeming that barring any avalanche of injuries, we should be especially nasty in all phases of the game. I'm on the edge of my seat anticipating this very upcoming season.
