I'm feeling a little melancholy because I haven't discussed Mitch Mustain today, so if you have any USC questions this weekend, feel free to post here and I will answer Monday morning.

Has Mitch become the 'Paris Hilton' of USC football? A preaccomplishment celebrity? Very entertaining for all us non Troy types BTW...thanks to our Trojan brothers and sisters for keeping a smile on all our faces with the zany antics of Mitch and the gang.

The depth of our tight ends seems to be very good. Could you discuss of Sark will utilize their talents more frequently.
Scott, you mentioned a USC photo against Notre Dame in one of your past columns. I think the photo was autographed by Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart - the Bush Push touchdown from a couple of years ago. Did you say that you were in the photograph? And do you know if that photo is still available someplace? Thanks for your good work ...

Do you believe the irrational exuberance centering around Mitch Mustain on the part of certain internet geeks posting to your blog is a result of their racial bias against a Latino starting at QB for the Trojans? I understand this is a sensitive topic, but how else can you explain it?
Scott, I was recently at a local PetsMart wearing my SC gear and the girl at the checkstand said her neighbor played there. I asked her who her neighbor was and she said Mark Sanchez. Who do you think is kinder to animals, Sanchez or Mustain?
You will learn this is a common thread among USC fans. They always want the backup to play more than the starter because they supposedly know more than the coaches. (And maybe they did during the Hackett years!)
Examples of who SC fans thought should be playing...
Shane Foley over Todd Marinovich
Kyle Wacholtz over Brad Otton
Mike Van Raaphorst over John Fox
Carson Palmer over Mike Van Raaphhorst
John Fox over Mike Van Raaphorst (not a typo we just moved in circles there for awhile.)
Matt Leinart over Carson Palmer
John David Booty over Matt Leinart
Mark Sanchez over JD Booty
And now Mitch Mustain over Mark Sanchez.
Soon it will be Aaron Corp over Mitch Mustain
And then some until now unheard of 10th grader over Aaron Corp.
You will love SC football. No one can ever be satisfied; even if a national title is won.
Since this is a question thread, Scott, can you think of any I missed?
PH55, Can't you recognize that the poster posing as mitch_mustain is really door prize? The style is a dead giveaway.
Hopefully Scott will decide soon that he's also had enough of the door prize!

Perfect! A weekend mini-open forum, where each of us can ask thousands of questions each, because weekend readers are your most loyal, Scott,ha ha!
Trouble is, I was caught off-guard and don't have any questions prepared--maybe later!
However, I will post my all-time USC starting 11, offense only, and since it is difficult to compare players of different eras, I will only post players who played after 1950. The question is; What changes would you make, Scott? This is off the top of my head, so I know I'm going to leave off some obvious ones, but here goes:
E. Keyshaun Johnson--Hal Bedsole
T. Anthony Munoz--Tony Boselli
G. Brad Budde--Elmer Willhoite
C. Marv Goux
QB. Matt Leinart, Carson Palmer
Flanker. Reggie Bush, Lynn Swann
RB. [listed in order of my preference] O.J.Simpson, Marcus Allen, Ricky Bell, Anthony Davis, Charles White, Mike Garrett, Jon Arnett and Frank Gifford
Punter Desmond Koch
PK Sam Tsakalis, Mario Danelo
There you have it! I'm sure readers will tear it apart--but, hey, different horses for different courses!!
TIREBITER1 said:
PH55 The biggest one of them all--circa 1970[maybe before your time] Jimmy Jones or Mike Rae? Even the players took sides on that one--so McKay gave them about equal playing time--and they were about equal in talent too.

PatrickMSN said:
Scott, a while back you were highlighting what you felt were the strengths of each of the quarterbacks and you said that Sanchez had the best arm. However, I have managed to obtain footage of Mustain's games at Arkansas and have to disagree with you completely.
Mustain has a far more powerful arm than Sanchez and is INFINITELY more accurate. Mustain has phenomenal ability at throwing the ball, both long and short distance, with pinpoint accuracy. Sanchez either over throws or under throws, with the Coliseum scrimmage resulting in the few throws that were not incomplete being interceptions.
I simply cannot see how anyone can say that Sanchez has a better arm that Mustain.
Even this short clip of Mustain's very first appearance in a college game (ironically enough against USC) displays his tremendous arm strength and accuracy, including fast release:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRa3uv_lKwg
I think you need to reevaluate your assessment of which quarterback has the best arm, because I don't think that Sanchez comes within light years of Mustain. It isn't even close.
When, not if, a movie is made about America's greatest folk hero, Mitch Mustain, who do you think will play Mitch?
I was thinking that Matt Damon kind of looks like Mitch, but he would be too old by then. So maybe Ashton Kutcher can also pull off Mustain's teenage years.
For Mustain's arch-nemesis, the Evil Sanchez, I can see being played by Fez from That 70s Show. But Fez will have to be uglied up, unshaven and have really bad hair to pull off Sanchez.
In the film, while Mustain is bringing America together, from his home base of Troy, the Evil Sanchez is always plotting against him from his jail cell, where he is in and out of throughout the film for a variety of sex crimes.
At the end of the day, though, good triumphs over evil and Mustain is the starter and becomes America's hero, while the Evil Sanchez is locked away in jail.
Mitch Mustain: America's Greatest Hero will go down as one of the greatest sports films in the vein of Rudy and Mustain will be bigger than the Gipper and, even, Rocky (including Rocky IV). Count on it.
I think Bruce Springsteen will write the theme song about Mustain - a folk song for our times that we can all sing around the campfire and around Christmastime.
Mitch Mustain will eventually win the Nobel Prize for Peace and bring all the people of the world together.
Are you the least bit serious when you refer to Mitch Mustain as "A preaccomplishment celebrity"? Or are you really that ignorant?
As has been mentioned countless times by the media, Mustain went 8-0 as a TRUE FRESHMAN STARTER in the SEC, the toughest conference in college football.
In his biography in USC's 2007 football media guide:
"Dating back to his junior high school days, he has a record of 61-2 (.968) as a starting quarterback (9-1 in eighth grade in 2001, 9-0 in both ninth grade in 2002 and 10th grade in 2003, 12-1 in 11th grade in 2004, 14-0 in 12th grade in 2005 and 8-0 as a freshman at Arkansas in 2006)."
He has also won more National Player of the Year awards than any other football player in history.
This is hardly "a preaccomplishment celebrity"! Mustain has accomplished more than any quarterback his age ever has before. All he has done in his entire life is accomplish. This is far from hype without substance. He has the numbers and success to prove that he is the real deal.
Mustain spent 2006 being the most successful true freshman starting quarterback in the history of college football, while Sanchez spent 2006 in jail for raping a student. Pretty big difference between the two, wouldn't you say?
Mustain will make the most phenomenal starting quarterback for USC in 2008 and all the praise he gets in the media is fully justified.
So I suggest you do some homework before coming on a USC blog and making such ignorant statements.

How impressed are you with Emmanuel Moody? From what I saw last year he was very shifty and quick through the hole at times but it seems to me that he tends to cut back into the tackler in open space? Also what about Desmond Reed will he be used more this year he looked great before he hurt his knee?
Do you think the fact that Mitch Mustain and Damian Williams were already such a successful and proven tandem had anything to do with Pete Carroll and Steve Sarkisian recruiting both of them to USC? Were they viewed best as a package deal?
Do you think the Mustain-Williams tandem will prove to be as successful in 2008 and 2009 as the Leinart-Bush or Leinart-Mike Williams tandems? Or do you think that Mustain's "go to guy" will be someone other than Williams?
Thanks for this forum, Scott...and it came just hours after you posted your previous forum answers! I agree with one of the other readers who said you should just start a daily feature on Mustain, since the questions about him and his future at USC are limitless!
Do you think that based on all the hype, OJ Mayo will be named to any pre-season All American lists?
Do you believe that Tim Floyd is at SC for the long haul?

Since you like English soccer so much, is there any chance that you may be assigned to cover the LA Galaxy when David Beckham arrives, or are you assigned exclusively to USC? Another thing, can you elaborate on the rumblings that David Beckham may be making a sideline appearance at a Trojans football game at the Coliseum in the fall?
Scott, unnamed sources tell of Alexi Lalas' wining and dining of "Becks" in Taverna Papadakis during the recruitment that led to this epic signing coup. Can you verify this? Could this info have come from the Chivas USA camp? Inquiring minda have got to know.

We are able to recruit such talent at every offensive and defensive position. But why do we not put more effort into recruiting and offering scholarships to the top rated placekickers and punters as well?
Don't get me wrong, I like the guys we have and think they have the potential to rise to the occasion, but those are two critical positions in close games and close games are the only ones we have lost in the past several years. It seems to me we'd be able to at least go out and handpick the best kicker in the country every year because he'd know we'd be on their side of the 50 most of the time...even if Coach Carroll likes to go for it on 4th down more than anyone.

Call it loyalty. Personally I have nothing against Mustain. Sports should be, but isn't, color-blind. Let the better athlete win. TIREBITER1, you said it yourself. But maybe back to school for you and a class in comparative writing styles, or get some CIA training before you make more stoopid assumptions. Just what kind of statement is "hick-from-the-sticks"?
Sounds about as racial as it gets.
Hypocrisy has no limits, I suppose, on people who hide behind the name of a player that they are trying to attack because they have their own agenda.
Some free advice for you - if you want to support your man Sanchez, I suggest you don't make an ass of yourself by posting as "mitch_mustain"; it only hurts Sanchez in the eyes of readers. Just as Door Prize/El Capitan managed to turn Sanchez into an angry thug with his absurd racially-charged attacks, you're also hurting Sanchez in the eyes of many USC alumni who read this board.
Think about that for a while before embarrassing not just yourself, but also Sanchez.
Scott:
You have to ban this person posting as "mitch_mustain" since he's obviously here solely to cause trouble. You said you would ban people whose posts are clearly in bad taste and this surely qualifies within that parameter.

For your list of the best on Offense since 1950, I'll preface my response by saying that I am not trying to come across as critical. How could you omit Ron Yary, Mike Williams and even Lendale White (he is SC's all-time leading scorer with 57 TD's) and Tom Malone nearly averaged 50yds/punt one year, so I'd add him. I will also cast a vote for George Belotti, b/c I cant leave out my father in law!
Please remove all the posts by the person using Mustain's name ASAP. This person is ruining your board and is just trying to cause unnecessary trouble and engage in race baiting.

You've mentioned JoJo's great receiving skills for a RB lately. That's great, but in terms of running, is his style noticeably fluid (smooth) and fast or does he simply have shake-n-bake skills like Moody? I'm trying to get a sense of his speed as in is he really faster than the players around him ala Percy Harvin/CJ Spiller?
Tirebiter... You have to give an honorable mention to Rodney Peete at QB. 4 year starter, perfect smile, flawless character, and the gutsiest performance ever against UCLA in 1988. Palmer is a great pro, but remember he broke his arm when he went Kyle Wacholtz against Oregon ;-). Without the extra year of eligibility from his injury redshirt, he wouldn't be in the equation.
Speaking of Wacholtz, that was really the only year in recent USC history when there wasn't that big of quarterback controversy. If Wacholtz had played more than half the time, he would have decapitated at least one opposing linebacker, and the NCAA would have penalized us.

Hmmm..I don't care to socialize with country people either but there is no reason to refer to them like that. And why "white guy"?
What difference does his race make if you are so impartial?
Anyway, getting down off my soapbox, thanks for another open forum Scott.
I have read about Sarkisian and how he "likes to throw it downfield". How serious is that? I am hearing about shotgun formation and throwing it downfield..are we going to be like the mad bomber Oakland Raiders teams?
How would you rate the odds of Rey M and Brian Cushing going to the NFL?
What happened to J. Holland? No news on him for a while..
USC is big on rotating players and getting experience and keeping fresh legs on the field. They don't seem to do this with the D-line though. How come A. Spicer, Parsons, D. Simmons, etc, don't play much?
Who is going to be WLB in 2009? M. Smith? For that matter who will be SLB? Mike Morgan? He is always hurt...

PatrickMSN don't judge Mark Sanchez based on scrimmage practices. I made the same mistake with John David Booty when he took over Matt Leinart. JDB threw into coverage almost every single time ending with an interception. I hope you guys have NOT forgoteen that. MM threw 11 INT's, no wonder his QBR was around 70. You and the usual suspects refuse to see and accept that. Also the usual suspects should read the Sporting News blogs specifically what the Arkansas fans say about MM. Gilliqueen you were too busy sniffing the wrong stuff and that is why you failed to ID who wrote what. Don't forget you did NOT attend USC, got it? If you want to be a Trojan so bad try to enroll. That is if you are smart enough to handle the college academics. It is never too late for you to educate yourself. Assuming you make it you will major in ballet or political rear end science. That is the only science you are so good at, hah!
PatrickMSN:
What is "INFINITELY"? Were you trying to say definitely which is gramatically accurate. You are trying so hard to be journalistically sound that you got lost in your own poetry, UHM? Ask 66 he spells it: "definately", go figure!
My two cents about RM and BC going to the NFL. They both have first round all over them! They both can go either way. Rey first, I understand that he is academically very smart and is close to graduating in three years. That way he honors his promise to his father of getting his degree. If you think of a degree first then Cushing could be back.
Tirebiter I agree with you except as much as I like Leinart I will go with Carlson Palmer first. I am surprised that I have NOT read a single comment against OJ Simpson! That is saying something considering the liberal jokers of this blog.

His accomplishments at Arkansas do not warrant the amazing myopic interest some of your bretheren have in Mitch. Especially with a potential Heisman candidate in Booty. Ergo, some sense of perspective is waranted.

We’ve recently seen Coaches Orgeron and Kiffin march off to other pastures (not necessarily greener) as head coaches. Who on the current staff is the next likely HC departure, Sark or Norton? Is Pete developing a Pat Riley complex where he thinks he can lead the team to a championship with 5 guys off the street (coaches in Pete's case)? Riley realized that doesn’t work after his struggles with the Knicks and Heat. Couldn’t do it without the Diesel. It didn’t work for Parcells either when he came back with the Cowboys, and it hasn’t been working for Belichick since he lost all his top-flight assistants. Is college coaching the exception because of the talent disparity among teams?

To all who commented on my all-star team; 1. I goofed on Ron Yary--He replaces Tony Boselli. 2. Rodney Peete? Sure, he deserves honorable mention and more-he was great--throw Pat Haden in the mix there too. 3. Tom Malone? He was my #2 pick, but did you ever see Dangerous Des Koch? Led NCAA in punting a couple of times, great hang time, great at kicking out-of-bounds inside the ten, etc. 4. Mike Williams? Sure, one sensational year, but I'll go with my top two. 5. Lendale White? I had him at #9==not always in best of shape, a headache to coach sometimes, but if he had come back for another year, and played like he can, then he makes it, replacing Frank Gifford. Hate to leave Frank off, but they are 55 years apart, and hard to compare different players from different eras. 6. George Belotti? Hey, he was one tough dude-if he is your father-in-law, then wifey rules-ha ha---no one messes with ol' George. 7. THE JUICE! Only the best runner I have ever seen in my life-what a blend of power and speed--see the film of the 1967 USC-Fucla game for proof. I would take him over Walter Peyton, Gayle Sayers, Jim Brown or anyone you want to name. We are going on talent here, not what may, or may not, have happened later. I am white, and on a sad note for me, all of my white friends seem to be sure that O.J. is guilty of murder. Only O. J. knows[if indeed he still remembers], but I will say this much--it was never proven in a court of law, either criminal or civil. In fact, the criminal case made him appear innocent. I'm not getting into racial things here anymore, but I want to say: black, brown, yellow, white, red, or striped, hey people, it doesn't make any difference. Lets stop with the racial animosity I see here!

I usually do not engage in the in-fighting here, but I have to strongly voice my concern that you take control of your blog immediately or it will forever lose credibility.
You simply must ban Door Prize and the person posting as Mitch Mustain. They are turning this into a racially fueled board, where anyone who says anything positive about a player who is not Latino is attacked and called a racist. From what I can see, they are the only ones who have ever brought race into the discussion. No one else ever brought race into the forum.
I am neither Caucasian nor Latino, yet am extremely offended by the tone and content of the posts by Door Prize. He is just filled with venom, attacking everyone in sight, making baseless accusations of racism, and engaging in profane name calling.
If you do not ban him and remove his posts, along with the ones by the person using Mitch Mustain's name, consider me gone from your blog. In fact, you can safely assume that most of your readers will continue to leave this blog.
Your blog is being turned into a mess and you are losing my respect on a daily basis. Unless you hand out bans and delete the posts by these two instigators immediately, you will forever lose the respect of many loyal readers.
Many journalists from around the country come to your blog every day and cite your information in their own news stories, but you are losing everyone's respect by continuing to allow this kind of behavior to continue on your blog.
Either you deal with these racially-fueled fools now or you will lose my respect and patronage immediately, as well as that of the journalistic community. Your blog has become a mess because of two people, and by allowing them to continue, they directly reflect on you.
Ban them and delete their posts now, or the days of your blog being taken seriously are very much numbered.
WTF is that? Like a candy bar? "coated in milk chocolate"
hahah
Well I am not sure what to make of door prizes' response yet again..
Saying I don't socialize with people from the country has nothing to do with race.."people from the country" can be any race and has nothing to do with race. I was just remarking on what was the reason MM is being labeled "white guy from ths sticks" which has demeaning connotations.
The only thing I can say doorp is maybe you better check this thread, 90% of the people on here are calling for you to be banned so maybe you better think about changing your act a little.
I do have to agree with defending Sanchez though..a year ago everyone thought he was the saviour of USC football and were calling for JDB's head..now everyone is kicking him to the curb for MM.
And he had one bad day in practice and bounced some passes which got reported, and EVERYONE quotes that and makes it out like he is awful..hey I am sure MM will have some bad days too and bounce some passes or overthrow WR's..give the guy a break.
Concur 100% with Wanger. This blog has gotten out of control due to the racial garbage being spewed by door prize and some coward who has decided to hide behind Mitch Mustain's name.
Scott, why you are not removing these posts is totally beyond me. Do you not have any integrity? Is this blog not hosted by an actual newspaper that is supposed to uphold journalistic standards and integrity?
Your blog has become a joke because of these posters and what Wanger said is completely accurate. Can you imagine what people from throughout the US must be thinking when they come on your blog and read one post after another, by someone who has nothing to do with USC, attacking others for never having attended USC and accusing everyone of racism towards Hispanics because they favor a white player?
Your blog is going downhill and your complete inaction will be the final nail in its coffin.
Scott, do something before it's too late. Start handing out bans and monitor your own darn board, deleting racially inappropriate posts and attacks. You had so many requests last week to ban door prize and you said you would do so, yet he is back doing just what he always does. Do you ever stand by your own words or are they completely hollow promises?
Either you do something about door prize now or this is the beginning of the end for your blog and its readership. Stand by what you said you would do or continue to watch your own blog fall into such disrepair, it will never recover.
This blog is, unfortunately, becoming kind of a joke, which is a shame as Scott has so much good info.
I still come on here to get the latest USC update, even though I have to read 100 anti-USC posts by UCLA fans and some more racial hated by door prize first.
Basically, that's all this blog is, is a place for UCLA fans to vent their hated of USC and write "13-9" and stupid things like "UCLA OWNS LA" all day and bait USC fans..and of course the running argument of everyone vs. Door prize...
Well, whaddya say Scott? How about cleaning some house and getting rid of any/all UCLA fans/undesireables on here?
(Is there a difference between UCLA fans and undesireables" haha)
Oh please Scott, please, stop them from saying bad things about Mitch Mustain! If you don't, I'm leaving and taking all my aliases with me! You won't have any readers left! Where is your journalistic integrity? Why don't you do what I say? My momma always told me not to sh%t where I sleep. You should do likewise. Do what I say and all will be good! Please Scott, please. If you don't, you leave me no alternative but to write to your editor. What's his email address?

Yo Mitch, sup homes? Thanks for sticking up for this vato against big bad white homies. Appreciate it homes. Just gives this vato more time to get it on with all those weeeemen. They may say no to this vato, but they really mean yes, yes, yes!
Anyone who says otherwise and accuses this vato of rape is a white racist! Damn Clay Matthews and his White Nation bashing group! What's a vato got to do around here not be accused of being no rapist?
Damn racists the lot of you. See Mitch is my main vato since he also like it when a fellow Latino beat dat white ass Phil Baroni. Great show by my vato there!
Door Prize, gracias for the support homes. We need to stick together against the white man's racism. Can you believe the LAPD with their racism against the Chicanos on their march? What about the janitor at MLK who mopped around the pregnant Mexican woman? The media just be attacking Mayor Villaraigosa and City Attorney Delgadillio jus cause they be racist against the Latino man bein in power and the white man be holding those vatos down.
This vato be goin now to make some love, it aint rape, homes!

I was also born an American citizen and I don't need a damn green card, OK? If you can't understand that I'll be glad to break it down to your intellectual level. Here is:
My best friend in HS was black. Does that sound racial to you, Mr. Sensitivity/sociologist? My best friends in the Marine Corps were black, Chicano Jewish and Polish. Does that sound racial Mr. Sensitivity?
Make a case that you can back-up. You don't back-up a case with Scott this and the rest of your bellyaching, OK?
Thank you
Apparently we now have both Mitch Mustain and Mark Sanchez making appearances on this board. Mustain is apparently now a Latino who loves seeing white men being beaten up and accuses everyone of racism toward Sanchez for being Latino. At the same time, Sanchez is now going around bragging about raping women and speaking in Mexican gangbanger vernacular.
Wow! Just unbelievable.
At least both Mustain and Sanchez are now best friends on this blog, if not on the football field.
We all know about Doorknob, so no use going down that road again. But must some of you antagonize him to get your kicks?
This blog has deteriorated into a joke.
I can't begin to imagine what fans of other schools must be thinking when they read the drivel that comes out of this blog. Apparently racism and rape are now amusing to some people. Just sick.

Yo scott, great work as usual.
1) Does Pete Carroll make the cfootball HOF as is? What else would he have to do to get in? What other players from teh current era get in? (besides the obvious)
2) D-Line has been a weak point of recruiting the past few years, with that being said, why didn't SC pursur Holmes and Jones harder?
3) What's the latest on Tom Malone? Do you think he gets a spot this year in the NFL?
4)How much playing time will B. Green realistically get this year. You've said he's physically imposing, will they use him inside of Washington in short yeardage situations?
PH55 your are as tireless as TIREBITER1. Man that post on the evolution of the SC QB is 2 Funny ...but on point....Fight ON!
Mark Sanchez reminds me so much of Jim Plunkett. I am just hoping he is 50% as good Plunkett. We don't need him to carry the whole time as Plunkett did.
Mr. Wolfe, now do you see what has happened? You give us all a gift of this outstanding topic for the Independence Day weekend. I was really overjoyed to see my favorite topic available so soon. So what happens, you also gave the same gift to the one single poster (regardless of all of his alias's) and he repaid you by nearly causing armageddon. There is only one solution and many have given you the answer. Remove the problem before this blog ends up in a heap.
I see where most posters tried to ignore the problem but that just caused it to expand. I see where one of my favorite posters already took a hike. I think that more will follow his example if you dont delete this problem and all of his posts.
Goliathtrojan
So now apparently I am all those other posters? Not quite. I see you have a history of posting as Mitch Mustain and accusing everyone who praises Mustain or criticizes Sanchez of being the same person. So that's all you do - make far reaching allegations since you have nothing to go on other than crying racism?
I suggest you do some research, pal. If you can find one post where I ever even mentioned Sanchez's race as a factor against him, then show me proof. But since that post does not exist, I suppose you have nothing to go on.
I do not need to hide behind someone else's name or use other names; I have always posted as TrojanSAEinNYC. Do you know why? Well let's see: I am a Trojan, I am an SAE and I am in NYC. Get it? Can you grasp that concept while hiding behind some football player's name?
Now go back to being upset because people praise Mustain and criticize the poor little picked on Sanchez, while blaming it all on race. Then claim it's all just one person behind this vast right wing, racially motivated conspiracy against your man.
Good thing I haven't even mentioned all the things those of us in Trojan circles know about a certain player's past and how it will come back to haunt him in the future... It's a good thing being SAE.
FIGHT ON! SAE. It's also a really good thing being the man that my wife calls....

1. How good is Drew Mcalister? Is he SC caliber? Is it because SC needs safeties, or is he really that good?
2. New question. You mentioned SC needed Defensive lineman, the last I saw, SC has 4 on the OL, and only 1 on DL. You see a couple OL moving to Defense?

RE:I am hearing about shotgun formation and throwing it downfield..are we going to be like the mad bomber Oakland Raiders teams? I don't think so, but what you are referring to is affectionately called the VERTICAL GAME and has always been part of the USC Football DNA. Al Davis was a USC Coach, John McKay was plenty vertical, with Jimmy Jones, Mike Rae, as was John Robinson with Vince Evans and Norm Chow with Carson Palmer. Check out what Del Rio and Fisher have there QB's do..When in doubt throw deep. Right out of the John Mckay play book. If it is intercepted it is just as good as a punt....so he said.

You told me to do my homework, so I did. Here is the result. Sorry for taking up so much space, but your words speak volumes. Talk about a one-track mind. DEAD-GIVEAWAY for a fraudster that you post exclusively about the same topic. Maybe you should change your by-line to “I’M QUEER FOR MUSTAIN”. It is WAY BEYOND COINCIDENCE that a plethora of your creepy aliases appear in the same threads piling on to your statements. You are definitely the “vato” posing as mark_sanchez. Way to make USC, SAE and NYC proud.
I hope he commits soon. He's an unbelievable talent and doesn't carry the criminal baggage of one of the other current quarterbacks.
I want Mustain to be a Trojan and I want him to say he's going to be a Trojan NOW!
Just a great, great talent and exemplary young man of character. He is just what we want as a quarterback representing the Trojan football team.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
There is also something to be said about not embarrassing the university by getting arrested for raping a girl.
There is plenty to be said about embarrassing yourself at the scrimmage in front of 10,000 people with one interception after another, one incomplete pass after another, one fumble after another.
So, yes, based on loyalty, let's get the rapist who can't play football to start over the boy who went 8-0 as a true freshman starter in the SEC.
Makes a ton of sense to me, kimosabe.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
There were many reasons why Mustain was benched and his performance on the field was not one of them. That article above is the best version I have read of the situation. So if you have about about 30 minutes to spare, do yourself a favor and read it.
Mustain is a fine young man, with deeply-held religious convictions, and we would be well-served if he became a Trojan. He will be an asset to USC, both on and off the field.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
As usual, more threats of physical violence from captain fairy. You have no intellect, so you have to resort to threatening everyone in sight and prove that you are nothing more than a street thug with no education.
Why don't you leave the Trojans on this board alone and go sell some more drugs in the barrio that you live in? Dirty thug.

I will be happy and proud to have Mustain in the Cardinal & Gold.
I simply cannot foresee a scenario that he will not start once Booty is gone. Just can't see it.
Fight On, Mitch!
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
That's fabulous news! There is nothing but upside to Mustain transferring to SC. I am sure he will start once Booty is gone, with Corp serving as his second string.
Mustain and Corp will be an outstanding duo, possibly the best in all of college football.
Bright days are ahead for Trojan football.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
Amen to this news! This is the most dragged out, worst kept secret in the history of college sports.
I welcome Mitch to the Trojan Family and will be proud when he starts at quarterback for us in 2008.
Great to have Mustain as a Trojan and it will be great when he's in the cardinal and gold.
He WILL be the starter in 2008, count on it.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
Let's clarify a few things here:
It was not Mustain who was hiding from Sanchez. He was being kept away from Sanchez, and Sanchez was being kept completely out of the loop regarding Mustain's recruitment.
Mustain knew the score and he couldn't care less who he was brought in contact with on his campus visits.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
USC1966 -- Vince Young had quite a mouth and ego on him, too, and that seemed to work out just fine. Having said that, I have never heard that Mustain has a big mouth and, in fact, I've heard he's rather humble.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
Well, at least we get our weekly Mustain story from you, Scott!
I guess you have to make sure that no other player will ever have as many blog posts about them as Mustain has had on this blog.
Give the people what they want and the web hits will come...
All Mustain, all the time!

Mustain has already been offered a scholarship and he will come to USC.
There is no such thing as "paying dues" as far as time in the football team is concerned for PC. Matt Cassel is proof of that. Besides, there will be several more scholarships available in May, when some players will be dismissed from the team for academic reasons.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
Excellent work, Scott! Keep it up.
Can't wait until the Mustain era begins!

JJH4USC:
You said, "for some unknown reason YOU are a Mustain-basher" when referring to ElCapitan. Are you serious when you say that you do not know the reason?
ElCapitan is a race-baiting fool who attacks any white QB because they are a threat to his fellow Latino, Sanchez. That's all he cares about -- promoting a fellow Latino and attacking anyone who dares say say anything positive about a white player.
It's hardly an "unknown reason"! The man is disturbed.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
Great work as usual, Scott. You never disappoint.
But rather than writing about Mitch Mustain maybe once or twice a week, just try to make it a daily feature from now on, OK?
Mitch Mustain is all anyone cares about and you've tapped into the Trojan conscience with your continual posts about him. The day you stop writing about Mustain, that will be the day we all stop reading this blog.
Again, good work.

Good for USC and good for Mustain. He is, by all accounts, a clean cut boy who has kept himself out of trouble and will surely represent the great ideals of USC with class and dignity. I agree with previous comments, I think he is being brought in as the next starter once Booty is gone. I think that is fairly obvious.
Fight On, Mitch!
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
Best news I've heard all day. Mustain will be an asset to USC and I look forward to seeing him in the Cardinal & Gold. I agree with everyone else, I simply do not see why else he is being brought in other than to start at QB. It would make no sense otherwise. This news has definitely made my evening.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
Funny you bring that up, because many members of the USC Board of Trustees actually are SAE, and Carroll does answer to them! But I digress...
Yes, I have made it clear that I don't want someone who has been arrested for rape representing me. Thankfully with Mustain, Sanchez will not be a factor in the future.
The Duke scenario was completely different and politically motivated. The Navel Academy just recently expelled their quarterback after he was arrested for rape, even though he was never convicted. They said that his behavior was "not becoming" of a student at the institution.
Notre Dame expelled three football players four years or so ago after they were arrested for raping a team manager. They weren't convicted, but ND said that their behavior did not represent the values of ND.
The same thing applies to Sanchez. Getting arrested for raping a student is not acceptable at USC and the shame that he has to face for the rest of his life, along with how it has forever destroyed his reputation, is simply not enough of a punishment.
So I am glad that Mustain is coming and was informed of the reasons behind his recruitment several months ago.
I did not attend the scrimmage, but by all accounts, Sanchez truly embarrassed himself, while Mustain looked on. I'm glad.
So I'm not asking for a group of choirboys; simply people of character who do not get thrown in jail for rape, assault, drugs or any other felony.
Is that really too much to ask?
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
I know a great deal about the Sanchez case and there is far more to the story than you are aware. Yes, the girl's mother made the complaint to the LAPD, but the girl corroborated everything and was examined by rape experts. I won't get into the details here, but don't base anything on Cushing's words or assume that only the mother was behind the accusation.
Regarding Mustain - again, there is far more to the story than is evident. There are issues regarding promises made about the type of offense that was to be run; comments made in a book by Mustain; the demotion of duties of the OC, etc., etc.
But in a worst case scenario, if you want to call Mustain some kind of momma's boy, is that any worse than a player who has been arrested for sexual assault and detained on numerous occasions by campus security for attacks against other students and private property, or who lied to an LA Times reporter about an incident that was actually captured on video tape?
You have to pick and choose your poison. Momma's boy or sexual predator? At least the momma's boy isn't a criminal.
For the record, I don't think I'm being too hard on Sanchez. If he's on a scholarship to SC, then he better behave up to a certain standard of conduct that is becoming of the university. If his behavior causes embarrassment, then he should face the consequences.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
Door Prize, AKA El Capitain -
First of all, why are you now using a different name? Did you finally admit defeat after being humiliated by everyone when you were El Capitan?
Second, Marathon Runner's opinion is very close to those within USC. Since you never went to USC, you wouldn't know that.
Third, I am absolutely loving every moment of this, knowing that Mustain's enrollment bothers you so much. You said he wouldn't come to USC, you were wrong. You will continue to be wrong about everything to do with USC.
Since I am actually an alumnus of USC and am quite actively involved with my alma mater, I am well aware of the QB situation. It is more than likely that Mustain will start in the 2008 season. Sure, you'll claim it's racism and not one person will care.
Start making plans to go cheer for another school you never went to. I know you're thoroughly embarrassed by your lack of academic achievements, so you have to jump on the USC bandwagon, but we don't need you. If we lose you as a fairweather fan when Mustain starts, no big loss.
Keep grasping at straws, while the real Trojans revel in our university's success.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
El Capitain - you are obviously a Latino individual and are, perhaps, taking things personally where there is no reason for you to do so.
I don't believe this is a Latino or white issue. Whether Sanchez raped a female student at USC or not, I do not know one way or the other. But the truth is that the aura of rape or sexual assault will follow him around for the rest of his life. That's simply a fact, not an opinion. That's the way American society works. His arrest is routinely brought up in the media whenever his name is mentioned, and was the first thing that Brent Musberger brought up when Sanchez entered the Rose Bowl game at the very end. Fans of other teams have made it clear that they will keep bringing it up if he ever starts for USC, whether it be with signs, chants, or in the case of the Stanford band, a half-time routine.
Again, I am not making a judgment on Sanchez's character one way or another, but realistically everyone knows that his arrest for rape will follow him around for the rest of his life and there is simply no denying that.
I couldn't care less what the race of a quarterback at USC is, just so long as he is good and represents the university with class and dignity. If race were an issue when it came to football, then we would have practically no players, since football is a predominantly black sport.
Having said that, I am thrilled that Mustain may be coming to USC and cannot imagine a scenario where he will not start. He has tremendous talent and by all accounts, is a devout Baptist with high ethical standards. It doesn't matter to me that he's white. It only matters to me that he's the best quarterback we can get -- and he has proven that he is -- and that he represents us with class and dignity. I have no reason to doubt that he will do just that.
This is not an issue of someone being Latino or white and you should not take any criticism for Sanchez in such a way or be offended if a white quarterback is praised. I do not get offended if a white player is insulted and you should not take it personally if a Latino player is not portrayed in the best light.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
El Capitan - you are out of line. Simply because people believe that a quarterback, who just so happens to be Caucasian, is talented, that is no reason for you to get upset and accuse everyone of being racist toward Latinos and for you to actually throw out a racial slur. "Redneck" is a racial slur and as far as I can tell, you are the only person here who has used a racial slur. That is out of line.
There doesn't have to be a criminal record for someone to have the aura of wrongdoing following them around. I am not passing judgment on Sanchez, either positively or negatively, but the truth is that having been arrested for rape will follow him around the rest of his life. Eric Wright was also arrested for raping a USC student and there were 136 ecstasy tablets found in his room, yet he was never charged with a crime. But the aura of rape will follow him forever.
I do not believe Mustain walks on water, but I think he is tremendously talented. Since I think that about a white quarterback, you believe that makes someone racist? That is a desperate grasp on your part.
You have to ease back and stop believing that anyone who thinks a white football player is better than a Latino is somehow racist.
Do I believe that Mustain will start in 2008? You bet. Do I know other Trojans who feel that same way? Yes, pretty much everyone I have spoken to. Does that make us racists? What a ridiculous question. Booty is better than Sanchez, yet if someone believes that, are they racist?
You have to ease up, because you are embarrassing yourself and are doing nothing to help your cause (whatever it may be) and are just alienating people, while marginalizing yourself.
Once someone brings out the race card, they are finished.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
El Capitain - you honestly need to calm down and stop turning this into a racial issue, which no one but you has done.
I did not want to get involved in this, but since you keep bringing it up, I will add some legal expertise on this situation.
The DA's office did not state that Sanchez was innocent. The exact wording that was used was Sanchez would not be charged due to a "lack of sufficient evidence beyond a reasonable doubt" on the issue of force and, subsequently, making the case "essentially a 'one-on-one' allegation." Yet the DA's office verified what the alleged victim had claimed that Sanchez had committed against her. The DA's office never actually stated that Sanchez was innocent and their wording verified that, by stating that it would come down to needing "sufficient evidence beyond a reasonable doubt" as opposed to the evidence that they had verified. It's a matter of whether a jury can be presented with sufficient evidence, as opposed to enough evidence.
Whether he was innocent or guilty, the fact remains that the aura of rape will follow him around for the rest of his life. I am not casting judgment, positive or negative, on him, but stating reality. No matter what he does for the rest of his life, the act of rape, and being arrested and having gone to jail for it. will follow him around. That is indisputable.
Again, you need to stop the race baiting, because you are the only person bringing up the fact that this is somehow a Latino versus Caucasian issue. By constantly bringing up the issue of race, you take away from your own credibility and lose any supporters you may have. Once people bring race into an argument, then they are grasping at straws and then are marginalized, while no longer being taken seriously.

Come, buddy, just admit it - you just want to get a few more posts in about Mustain before the mystery of his enrollment at USC has ended once and for all. You have written more stories about Mustain than any other player ever before. No one had received more space from you than Mustain and I doubt anyone else in the future ever will. These stories have caused your blog to be the first stop for many when it comes to getting news about Trojan football and have made it the most popular site as far as hits are concerned. So you know what you're doing. Feed the flames and the hordes will congregate.
What will we all do once Mustain is actually enrolled and we no longer have our weekly update about "Mustain has not made an official announcement yet"?
For what it's worth, I was told that Mustain will simply enroll at USC and there will not be a big, official announcement from him. Things could change, but that's what I was told as of last week.
We'll all look back in many years time about the Mitch Mustain Mysteries with fondness! Can the mystery really be coming to an end? Say it ain't so!
Mustain 2008!

To those of you who think that Mustain's high school competition was not as good as what Sanchez faced, consider this:
In his senior year, not only did he go 14-0 and win a state championship, but he was the starting quarterback for three wins over nationally-ranked opponents and a No. 2 ranking in one national poll.
So the competition was not all local Arkansas teams from the sticks.
His personal accolades are also far greater than Sanchez's. Some of Mustain's awards:
He was the Gatorade, USA Today and Parade Magazine National Player of the Year. No other player has won all three awards in the same year.
Since high school, some of Mustain's college accomplishments:
He went 8-0 as a true freshman starting quarterback in the SEC. No other true freshman in the history of college football has that good of a record.
Mustain is the real deal and not some potential project. He has achieved at the college level already and the possibility of what he will do as a 20 year old, based on what he already did as an 18 year old, is simply mind boggling. There is so much potential there for greatness
From all accounts, he's a solid human being, with deeply-rooted values and is active in his church. This is just the kind of young man we should want representing us. He is representative of the student body and alumni.
Mitch Mustain will make a great Trojan.

El Capitan -- as usual, you are out of line. Now you are now accusing people of being in the KKK? You are mentally ill and any credibility you thought you had, that's gone out the window now.
You have no idea what USC alumni and boosters think, so do not go around claiming you speak for them, either. I am not only a booster, but serve on an athletic dept board, so I think I may know what I'm talking about. You, however, come on this blog and spread your vitriol at everyone who claims that Mustain is good, while accusing them of racism.
Your latest idiotic accusation of Mustain supporters being in the KKK is simply despicable and I cannot imagine anyone supporting your views anymore (not that they ever did in the first place).
If you do not like what people have to say about Mustain, do not read it. Do not respond to it. Your opinion means nothing when it comes to USC. You have nothing to do with USC, you are not a Trojan and based on your most recent disgraceful accusations, you have no credibility.
To everyone else -- while it may be amusing to rile up this sick man, do not feed into his illness. All he is capable of doing is making unfounded accusations of racism and name calling. He is obviously quite ill and you should not lower yourself by engaging a sick mind, who believes that he is being victimized because of his race.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
Judging by the USC press release following Mitch Mustain's enrollment in May, as well as his entry in the upcoming 2007 football media guide, does it appear that the sports information office is really going out of its way by hyping Mustain's record as a starting quarterback? The official USC profile goes back to his junior high school days as a starting quarterback and I have never seen an official biography do that before, while constantly emphasizing his record as a starting quarterback throughout his life, with winning percentages included from when he was 12 years old. Is this in anticipation of a media blitz for when Mustain becomes the starting quarterback in 2008, and they are simply getting the hype started now?
Thanks in advance for all the hours you put into this blog, Scott. It truly is the best USC athletic resource on the web, and don't ever think people don't appreciate that.

While I admit I get excited by all the Mustain to SC talk, even I have to say that there are only so many times you can say the same thing over and over again.
Granted, Mustain coming to SC will be the biggest story in the off-season and the biggest recruit of the class, but is there anything new to this story about Mustain not officially committing to avoid angering his fellow Arkansas students and former teammates that we haven't heard before?
I didn't see the scrimmage, but by all news and fan reports, Sanchez clearly did not impress. Too bad for him. I can't say I'm too upset, because I don't want someone like Sanchez, who has been arrested and been in jail for a sex crime, ever representing SC. So it's the perfect time for Mustain to come in and be the next great USC quarterback.
Fight on, Mitch!
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
I don't understand why anyone would be opposed to the national player of the year enrolling at USC. He sounds like a great, morally upright young man. He has never been arrested for rape, never been in jail, and has not had any off the field issues.
He started eight games as a true freshman and won them all. He was, perhaps, the most coveted high school quarterback in history and he wants to come to USC. The coaches at USC want him to come to USC. They have held a scholarship for him. So why would anyone have a problem with any of this?
Can you name a bigger transfer throughout the history of college football? I cannot.
I agree that Corp has tremendous upside, but I would be sickened if that other sleazy quarterback, who has been arrested for rape, ever represents us as a starter. So I am so euphoric over Mustain coming in and positioning himself as the next Trojan starting quarterback.
I will be proud to have Mitch Mustain as a Trojan. He's one of the best talents I have ever come across, is a God-fearing Christian, and leads his life off the field with pride and dignity. He is just what we need to represent us on the football field. He's a born leader.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
And with that comes the official end to Scott's weekly "Mitch Mustain has not made an official announcement yet about transferring to USC" blog post.
These past few months have been great, Scott. Never has there been a worst-kept secret in the history of college football.
But we had good times, didn't we?
We witnessed a crazy man, who had nothing to do with USC, get mad at everyone who wasn't Latino when they had the audacity to say that either Mustain or Booty were good! Then he would accuse them of racism!
It's a crazy world, isn't it?
So I'm glad this chapter is over and I look forward to when Mustain is named the starter in the spring of 2008!
Welcome to the Trojan Family, Mitch. You're the future of the SC football program. You'll make a great starter for us in 2008.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
Mustain has already been offered a scholarship from Pete Carroll. His teammate from Springdale and Arkansas has already enrolled at USC.
Concur with the general sentiment - Mustain will start at USC for the 2008 season. It means nothing to PC or Sarkisian how long a player has been on the pine. None whatsoever. Did Matt Cassel ever start, even though he had been around longer than Leinart and was ahead of him on the depth chart for two years?
Besides, there will be a few more scholarships available come May when some of the current players are kicked out of school for academic reasons, while a few more will transfer out.
I would far prefer someone like Mustain representing USC over someone like Sanchez who has been arrested and thrown in jail for raping a girl. Mustain's accomplishments on the collge football field are also far greater than Sanchez's accomplishments in college, which amount to absolutely nothing at all. Just nothing.
My support is fully behind Mustain.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
I admit that I do not want someone like Sanchez ever representing USC because I do not care for his character. There is simply no place at an academic institution for someone who has been arrested for rape. The same thing applies to people like Eric Wright and Rey Maualuga, who were also arrested for a variety of crimes, from rape to attacking students. However, that does not mean people should start doing Speedy Gonzalez posts simply because Sanchez is Latino. That is simply inappropriate.
Sanchez should be judged on his own lack of character, not that of his race. So based on his character, that is why I prefer Mustain over Sanchez in a New York minute. Based on talent, I prefer Mustain over Sanchez in a New York minute. Based on what each has accomplished in college, obviously Mustain is far superior to Sanchez.
Now on to more positive things - the basketball team will be playing just across the river from me in New Jersey this Friday!
Beat the Tar Heels!
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
Summer N - I echo Gillyking and give kudos to you for your logic. I wasn't aware of Mustain's accomplishments and am now quite high on him. He is possibly the most high profile transfer in the history of college football. I can't think of anyone else with his accolades ever transferring.
El Capitan - whether Sanchez really raped a student or not, I don't know one way or the other. But I do know that the stigma and reputation of being a sexual predator, who was arrested and went to jail, will follow him around for the rest of his life. That is a fact and not merely an opinion. Again, I am not judging him positively or negatively, and am not saying he raped a student or not. I am just stating that the cloud of sexual assault will follow him for the rest of his life and it will come with the territory.
Greg B - I agree, we should welcome Mitch Mustain. He will be an asset to the Trojans.
Regarding the issue of who's been in the system longer - well, Booty started off in the Chow system, then it became the Kiffen system. It's now the Sarkisian system. So it's not even the same system that the current quarterbacks have been in. Besides, what if Carroll leaves in the next year? That will bring about an entirely new system altogether.
Whatever happens, I am pleased that Mitch Mustain will become a Trojan and am very impressed with all his accolades.

The above outlandish post says it all! DoorPrize (mitch_mustain) once again just wasting space and antagonizing damn near everyone here. Jeez what a mental case! It sucks, what your once fine blog is becoming Wolfe!
Goliathtrojan
All you managed to prove there is that I support Mitch Mustain and favor him over Sanchez. Congratulations. I never denied that.
Still have no evidence that I ever brought anything into the equation about your man Sanchez's race. Because it's not there.
Funny how you claim I am using other aliases when you are hiding behind a football player's name.
You have too much time on your hands, no girlfriend to take up your time, and too many conspiracy theories against about your man Sanchez.
If someone says they are pro-Mustain, you claim they are racist against Latinos. if they are opposed to Sanchez, you claim they are racist against Latinos. Never shown any proof that I have ever said anything racist against Latinos.
Once people start accusing others of racism, it is because they have nothing to go by other than desperation. Then they are finished.
Mustain will make a great starting QB for USC in 2008, while Sanchez will end up transferring to UNLV. He will then claim that he transferred because of his back and not any other issues. See, not a racist statement.
All you have done is proven you are queer for Mustain and embarrassed USC, SAE and NYC. But when you post under your other creepy aliases, including mark_sanchez, a totally different picture emerges, that of a whack-job, racist, sicko.
And Scott with his internet chief have the records to prove it.
Glad to see you couldn't refute one thing I said. NOt surprising.
I think YOU are posting at mark_sanchez, so you can then blame others and then cry racism.
I am not sure how I am "queer for Mustain" since I have a wife and children, but your obsession with Sanchez, along with your lack of a girlfriend, clearly shows your own sexual preferences.
I am sure you'll find some way to claim that's a racist comment, but since you have to hide behind the name of a football player, no wonder no one takes you seriously.
Oh, and Scott's internet chiefs know for a fact that my IP from Lower Manhattan on weekdays, and the Upper East Side on evenings and weekends, does not match that of anyone else, but why let facts get in the way of your desperate claims? You never have before.
Maybe if you got yourself a life partner (of whatever gender), you would have less time to come up with some far-fetched conspiracy theories. And jealousy of SAEs - nothing new from those who were always going to be rejected and live life as outsiders.
It's great to be SAE. Is it great to be you? Not so much.

TrojanSAEinNYC, aka QueerForMustain,
You are such a liar, and your redirects are weak. Everybody knows the Daily News is not about to analyze IP addresses. But if they did…you are outed.
Please explain why 95% (or more) of your posts are gushing with school-girl praise for Mustain/bashing Sanchez? Nothing else interesting to discuss about Trojan football? Hmmm… Try mixing it up a bit in the future so it won’t be so obvious. QueerForMustain…that is you…loser!
I see you're getting even more desperate. You cannot dispute a word I say, so you're just getting all upset and crying now. Look, it's alright if you have some kind of issues about not being able to get a boyfriend, so you spend all your time coming up with conspiracy theories and accusing everyone of being one person with racist intentions.
If you just go to a West Hollywood bar, there may be someone who looks just like Sanchez there and maybe, just maybe, you'll be able to find a life partner who will be able to keep you occupied. Then you won't have to spend all your time on the internet hiding behind a football player's name.
Oh, and have you ever said anything that didn't bash Mustain, praise Sanchez and cry racism? Hmmm.....
And there's your answer. Don't worry, all you need is to find yourself a life partner and life won't be so lonely for you.

TrojanSAEinNYC, aka QueerForMustain,
Other than calling Mustain a “hick from the sticks” (which is kind of obvious, and some country people regard that moniker with pride), I’ve not bashed him nor praised Sanchez. Find the references please. I think Mustain will be an asset to the team and push the other QB’s on the roster, provided he doesn't go running home to mommy when the going gets tough. He will have an opportunity to win the battle with Sanchez and Corp. But that’s for the coaches to decide, not you. You seem be confusing me with someone else and have not gotten anything correct with your asinine presumptions and speculations. Not surprising since you’re hooked on love with Mitch.
But back to the question of why you never seem to post anything except for your love of Mustain/distain of Sanchez? I understand you don’t want to give it away, along with all your other creepy aliases… DaveFromCDM=Wanger=SC'03=PatrickMSN=FluorTower=TrojanSAEinNYC=
MarathonRunner=mark_sanchez=USCBUAD92=etc, etc, etc.
QueerForMustain…that is you…loser…an embarrassment to USC, SAE and NYC!
Awww, I'm making you cry and you're just all hot and bothered now. Don't cry, try to be a big boy.
You're very bitter toward SAE, aren't you? Being an outsider bothers you, doesn't it? You're always crying because you're lonely, aren't you? Don't be bitter, but accept what your life really is. That of a lonely boy, without a life partner, on the internet hiding behind a football player's name, coming up with conspiracy theories accusing everyone of being the same person pushing a racist agenda.
Don't cry. Try to find yourself a boyfriend, and then maybe you won't be so lonely that you spend all your time on the internet hiding behind a football player's name, coming up with conspiracy theories accusing everyone of being the same person pushing a racist agenda.
Again, don't cry. Be a big boy. I know you have nothing to do with USC, would never have been able to go through the doors of SAE, and your family's trailer home is a far cry from the big city lights of NYC. That's alright. Don't cry, though.
Since I am a Trojan, I can support anyone I want on my alma mater's football team and don't have to justify it to some lonely internet boy who hides behind a football player's name, coming up with conspiracy theories accusing everyone of being the same person pushing a racist agenda.
Be a big boy now and stop crying. Your perfect boyfriend may be just around the corner. Then the internet conspiracy theories might end and with West Hollywood's freedom, you'll be able to hold hands in public. I know that will make you happy. You'll be able to go outside for once rather than spending all day in front of a computer because some mean SAE man from the big city made you cry by refuting everything you say, while you hid behind a football player's name.
Stop crying now, it upsets me to know I am the cause of your sorrow and anguish. Put on a big smile for me now, big boy. You don't have to be so lonely, I'm sure you will eventually find someone to make you happy. There are lots of single men in West Hollywood, so the man of your dreams is out there. It just takes some confidence, so get out of your lonely bedroom and go get 'em, Tiger!

Normal people with a modicum of self-confidence and nothing to hide don’t overreact the way you have. More evidence we have hit pay dirt exposing your small intellect and racist tendencies. As for your wildly inaccurate guessing, since you’re on a losing streak, don’t bother wagering your money in AC or at Mohegan Sun. Better to let the hormones and your love for Mitch to subside. I'm sure your "wife and kids" would be proud of the way you're behaving.
QueerForMustain…that is you…loser…an embarrassment to USC, SAE and NYC!
To the person writing as mitch_mustain"
PH55 The biggest one of them all--circa 1970[maybe before your time] Jimmy Jones or Mike Rae? Even the players took sides on that one--so McKay gave them about equal playing time--and they were about equal in talent too.
Gillyking: re your post above--YOU GOT IT--that writing style is unique.
Re my All-Star post above, before Petros kills me ,the spelling on the PK should be Tsakalakis[I think]
Scott:
You said that Sporty Spice was your favorite Spice Girl "because she wears a Liverpool jersey," but were you aware that one of Liverpool's new owners, Tom Hicks, is a Trojan? USC Class of 1970.
Bruin57:
Scott,
What's up with the Wannabe coach at LSU trying to talk some smack about the PAC 10 and probably USC, tell Pete Carroll to put LSU on our schedule in the next couple of years so we can put the Beat Down on those Tigers and continue to shut up these SEC lovers! Fight ON!!!
Scotth,
How impressed are you with Emmanuel Moody?
Fight On!
PH55:
You missed the Rob Johnson years.
Scott -
Do you think that based on all the hype, OJ Mayo will be named to any pre-season All American lists?
Do you believe that Tim Floyd is at SC for the long haul?
Since you like English soccer so much, is there any chance that you may be assigned to cover the LA Galaxy when David Beckham arrives, or are you assigned exclusively to USC? Does the Daily News have someone already assigned to the Galaxy in anticipation of Beckham or will one of the sports reporters do double duty?
Gillyking and TIREBITER1:
Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not your door prize. Just a white guy tired of the sickos and racists anointing a hick-from-the-sticks over the home-grown talent that's been patiently biding his time and learning the system for two years. If you want to examine writing styles, check out the over-the-top, adolescent enthusiasm of PatrickMSN, FluorTower, TrojanSAEinNYC and MarathonRunner. I'm pretty sure he/it has additional aliases. Scott, isn't there an age requirement for posting to your blog, like 12?
Scott, what can you tell us about Glena, the woman behind the MAN? Do you see her very often? BTW, could you cut-and-paste the questions so we can track what question you're answering? I love the forum, but sometimes it's difficult to figure out what question you're answering. Thanks.

Someone calling himself Mitch Mustain accusing other readers of "additional aliases"? Guess again.
You wrote:
"Just a white guy tired of the sickos and racists anointing a hick-from-the-sticks"
TIREBITR1,
For your list of the best on Offense since 1950, I'll preface my response by saying that I am not trying to come across as critical.
Scott -
Please remove all the posts by the person using Mustain's name ASAP. This person is ruining your board and is just trying to cause unnecessary trouble and engage in race baiting.
Scott, for the Mini-Forum
In a recent O/NSO column it was noted that Trojan recruit Daniel Campbell wasn't in as good shape and wasn't as impressive as expected at the recent Rising Stars Camp,
and therefore the Trojan coaching staff will have some "interesting decisions to make on this kid." But since Campbell
already has a scholarship offer what "interesting
decisions" are there to make?
Scott,

Scott:
What does "preferred walk-on" status mean? In reading a current web article on Cooper Stephenson, the current #2 fullback, he referred to being recruited by Stanford and USC as a "preferred walk-on".
I am not even going to dignify those comments by that person impersonating Mitch Mustain.
My mother always told me never to engage with stupid people at their own game, because if you do, they will always win in a contest of stupidity.
Last year, why were portables placed in the grassy parking lot next to the Coliseum? It took up alot of space for us tailgaters. Will USC have them removed for this year's games to allow for more parking?
Scott-
Petros used to be a huge SC
fan prior to his radio and
TV commentator gigs. Do you think his bosses told him to be more neutral with
Pac 10 teams???
GREAT JOB with these q & a
columns!!!!!
Scott, keep up the good work. I don't believe the O-line did its job last year. Kyle W. got beat several times by faster DEs and the guards were not in the same league as Deuce Latui. Do you think the O-line will be better this year (I don't) or is SC in "trouble" once again?
TIREBITER1,
I agree with SCSPILK re: your ommission of Lendale White. IMO he's one of the top 5 RB ever at USC. No one's ever put up the points he has on the ground.
SW, do you know when the 2007 Football Media Guide will be available? Love the forums (to bad we have so many num-nuts out there that have to try and the take the forum down a notch). Keep up the good work SW. Fight On!
Have you changed your journalism approach since being on the USC rumor beat? Or have you gotten more access to people? At the beginning many, including myself, thought your info was unreliable and sensationalist with all the false commit stories and stuff. Many of us now consider this a can't-miss read even if there will always be a "tabloid" element to it. After all, that makes it fun rather than life-or-death. Is it fun for you compared to other beats you have done?
I've heard for years about a famous photo with Todd Marinovich flipping off a Bruin that's offering to help him up off the field... I've never actually seen it, though... Does it exist? If so, can you post it (I've noticed you've been posting a few old school SC photos lately).
I agree with TrojanSAE
"White guy from the sticks"
Thanks again Scott

The little bit of respect I had for you is gone. They say in America there is a rotten apple in every bunch. There are good people in the country also. Don't cry wolf about racial remarks when yours is definitely racially coated.
No, I was saying INFINITELY. Look up the word.
Scott: I thought you said you were going to ban Door Prize. Why haven't you done so yet? See, he's as disruptive as ever. If you don't ban him, he will continue to post this garbage that ruins your blog.

to TrojanSAEinNYC...it's called humor...something Scott uses with regularity regarding Mustain. I was piling on.
His accomplishments at Arkansas do not warrant the amazing myopic interest some of your bretheren have in Mitch. Especially with a potential Heisman candidate in Booty. Ergo, some sense of perspective is waranted.
Now if some in Trojan land want to throw Booty overboard and start Mitch, I am sure that the rest of the Pac Ten won't fight it!
peace...
TrojanSAEinNYC, loved seeing Frank "Juarez" Shamrock putting a beating on your Phil “the NY dumb ass” Baroni last week. Not because it was a Latino beating up a white guy, but because the better guy won. You showing your Yankees and A-Rod some love? Or maybe you favor the Mets with their Latino GM Omar Minaya and his Latino-loaded roster. (Jose Reyes ring a bell?) Not much hope for you as a sports fan with your racist attitudes. You are an anachronism.

Wolfie, you must enjoy these open forums as much as us, so now we are getting the weekend edition.
USC has 2 TBA opponents in their 2011 schedule. Any idea which schools they are talking to regarding these games.
Gillyqueen:
You are a damn idiot. Read USC66 post and tell me if his post does NOT have a racial tone. I simply responded to his racial remark. He posted before I did you moronic fool: READ clown, READ, OK? you guys playing the race card are morons. You think Pete Carroll gives a rats ass what race some ones is. All he wants to do is win. Get a life.
Second that Fighton.
Scott,
We’ve recently seen Coaches Orgeron and Kiffin march off to other pastures (not necessarily greener) as head coaches.
To PH55 Nice post you had, right after mine, on the Adewale post by Scott--please see my reply.
For the love of God, Scott, ban this Door Prize person already!
You keep mentioning how your blog gets more hits than any other USC sports site, so if you want that to continue, you will ban this person with his race baiting posts, personal attacks, etc.
If you do not ban him, as you already said you would, your blog and its readability will be destroyed and you will no longer get any readers.
Door Prize; Yeah, you are right--I expected to take some flak for naming THE JUICE as my all-time best. Maybe after reading my post two above this, I will. Prejudice is out there in so many people-and it's rotten. I don't really read the name-calling posts, but it looks like you don't have much support out there tonight--re Mitch vs. Pete, let the better player win--it does seem like there is undue excitement here over Mustain, but I don't think Carroll gives a rats tail over color--McKay didn't either, but before the mid-fifties, blacks got the shaft almost everywhere--if you ask me, in a lot of places, they still are-Latinos too.

Hi Wolfie: Hey, it's almost 6am Sunday morning=I'll be gone all day today, and I just realized I haven't taken advantage of this mini open forum to ask a single question-so it's now or never--I'll keep it to two.
1. Can you talk a little about the part that SAM GILBERT played in those Wooden years? Hoping you might have heard some inside stuff there that hasn't really come fully out. He was certainly one bad egg.
2.Back to football, my favorite sport, does a lot of really dirty play go on under a big pile-up after the play is over?
Hey, thanx for the mini open forum, but I bet it doesn't become a regular weekly feature-ha ha.
Tirebiter1:
I have been around sports for a while and you seem to be as well.
Have you ever seen a group of fans putting down a player to promote or favor or even try to infuence a player over another one? IMHO that is NOT fan loyalty.
I also agree with your OJS legal opinion.
Thanks
Door Prize: Yes, I have seen that--and when it happens, it is disgusting! The first one that comes to my mind re USC is the JIMMY JONES vs. MIKE RAE controversary posted by me right after I posted my all-star team. That was a rotten case of black[JONES] vs, white[RAE]. If that's whats happening here between Sanchez vs. Mustain, it's equally rotten. There does seem to be an unwarranted amount of attention given to Mustain here-and if it's racial, that's really disgusting on the part of anyone racially motivated.
AlwaysBeatND, thanks for the info. I am still wondering when it will be officially be available for purchase (if is not already)? Thanks for coming through with the link. I'm with you (always kick crap out of ND). Fight On!
Scott,
I usually do not engage in the in-fighting here, but I have to strongly voice my concern that you take control of your blog immediately or it will forever lose credibility.
Thank you.
""Racially coated"
WTF is that? Like a candy bar? "coated in milk chocolate"
hahah
Well I am not sure what to make of door prizes' response yet again..
Saying I don't socialize with people from the country has nothing to do with race.."people from the country" can be any race and has nothing to do with race. I was just remarking on what was the reason MM is being labeled "white guy from ths sticks" which has demeaning connotations.
The only thing I can say doorp is maybe you better check this thread, 90% of the people on here are calling for you to be banned so maybe you better think about changing your act a little.
BTW making fun of typos ir a real loser play.
Well Put again,Dave from CDM.
DaveFromCDM=Wanger=SC'03=PatrickMSN=FluorTower=TrojanSAEinNYC=MarathonRunner
SC'03, Dave and Wanger:
Do ALL three of you know how to read?:
I responded to 66 comment. There is a difference between a statement and a response. There is also a difference between double standards and impartiality. Also do you want to give 66 a pass for his vulgar acronym WT_? So think again guys. Had you people being gentlemen I would have said think again gentlemen; no such animal(s) here.
66 there is also a difference between a typo and butchered spelling. Spell like a college educated person and quit bellyaching. The term you grossly misspelled is a commonly used word.
You above three animals where is the racial tone on this post? Where is your case? Learn how to read first...
Thank you
Yo Mitch, sup homes?
Damn racists!
Wanger:
Read carefully before you get excited. Frankly I don't care if you are an opera singer. Go ahead and misconstrue this. I am Latino and caucasian.
Thank you
Wow! Just wow!
You've said he's physically imposing, will they use him inside of Washington in short yeardage situations?
thanks
TIREBITER1 you are tireless. I enjoy your posts.

Leave anyone out?
You may have fooled Tirebiter1, Gillyking and USC1966, but can’t fool all the people all the time.
Do you have the inside scoop on the football team's motto for the upcoming season?
Scott, do you believe a player can actually be praised or condemned for their skill and/or poise before they are given significant playing time?
I have my opinion but it seems to be in contradiction to a good number of posters.
mitch...or is that mark...or door prize...?
Goliathtrojan!
Dude... you did not answer my question last week.
Thanks.

C'mon big guy, get the UCLA fans off here and clean this place up!

TrojanSAEinNYC
You told me to do my homework, so I did. Here is the result. Sorry for taking up so much space, but your words speak volumes. Talk about a one-track mind. DEAD-GIVEAWAY for a fraudster that you post exclusively about the same topic. Maybe you should change your by-line to “I’M QUEER FOR MUSTAIN”. It is WAY BEYOND COINCIDENCE that a plethora of your creepy aliases appear in the same threads piling on to your statements. You are definitely the “vato” posing as mark_sanchez. Way to make USC, SAE and NYC proud.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope he commits soon.

Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
Mustain has already been offered a scholarship and he will come to USC.
There is no such thing as "paying dues" as far as time in the football team is concerned for PC. Matt Cassel is proof of that. Besides, there will be several more scholarships available in May, when some players will be dismissed from the team for academic reasons.
Posted by: TrojanSAEinNYC
Excellent work, Scott! Keep it up.
Can't wait until the Mustain era begins!

For heaven's sake, Mustain clearly stated several months ago that his official announcement would be made by May, so he is simply keeping to his word.

Have you run out of money for Vaseline, so you have to spend all your time on the internet instead?

Good for USC and good for Mustain. He is, by all accounts, a clean cut boy who has kept himself out of trouble and will surely represent the great ideals of USC with class and dignity. I agree with previous comments, I think he is being brought in as the next starter once Booty is gone. I think that is fairly obvious.
Fight On, Mitch!

Scott:

It sucks, what your once fine blog is becoming Wolfe!

mitch/mark/door prize:
QueerForMustain (aka TrojanSAEinNYC, aka mark_sanchez):
All you have done is proven you are queer for Mustain and embarrassed USC, SAE and NYC. But when you post under your other creepy aliases, including mark_sanchez, a totally different picture emerges, that of a whack-job, racist, sicko.
And Scott with his internet chief have the records to prove it.
mitch/mark/door prize:
I think Mitch, Mark, Door Prize and Troajn SAE(phi alpha)are all the same have a weird schizophrenic blog chat with themselves.
Shut your pie holes and keep it on topic.

QueerForMustain…that is you…loser!
mitch/mark/door prize:
MarathonRunner=mark_sanchez=USCBUAD92=etc, etc, etc.
QueerForMustain…that is you…loser…an embarrassment to USC, SAE and NYC!
mitch/mark/door prize:
Someone --or more--has too much time on their hands! Get a life! No one fools the ol' man here!!!!!!!!!!
every ounce of this crap would have never come into this blog if door prize were not here.

TrojanSAEinNYC, aka QueerForMustain,
Normal people with a modicum of self-confidence and nothing to hide don’t overreact the way you have.
