New Nickname

From now on, we're thinking of referring to the Pac-10 as the Versus Conference.
With bad bowl arrangements, an Arena Football League ref as supervisor of officials, 7:15 p.m. kickoffs that kill national exposure, shoddy Fox Sports production and now the unwatchable Versus channel as an official partner, it's time for a new name.
Say what you want about the SEC, it's not on Versus.

But they do show SEC games on the "Sunshine Network". At least Versus had the Stanley Cup playoffs.

A few years ago people had a meltdown when the NFL went to FOX because not everyone got FOX...now they do...likely because FOX got the NFL.

worst part about the Pac-10 is the hack beat writers we are stuck with....

Who cares about national exposure. It just lets the SEC teams pop off before the Trojans lay the smack down again. Just ask Arkansas and Auburn fans.

It is not just the pac 10 that versus is televising games, so is the big 12. The same amount as the pac 10. (Multichannel News) _ Versus http://www.multichannel.com/article/CA6430580.html will air 18 college-football games during the upcoming season -- eight from the Mountain West Conference and five apiece from the Pacific-10 and Big 12 conferences.

Scott and his OCD about Versus...

:o))

Versus is the bottom of the rung - unlike FOX, there will be no innovation, no games in HD with no-name stiffs as broadcasters.

Scott Wolf

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
