Night And Day

You might have noticed the Las Vegas Review Journal reported over the weekend that USC quarterback John David Booty was in town Friday night at the Pure nightclub in Caesar's Palace (link after the jump).
It barely rated a sentence, which leads one to wonder if there's a double standard at work, considering the attention Matt Leinart received for his cavorting. Actually, the answer is simple. If you go out and do not make a spectacle of yourself, getting drunk and chasing C-list celebrities, you probably won't get too much attention in the gossip columns.

So you hate Leinart because he likes to have a good time? Must be a bitch to live in mom's house while your nemisis is getting good looking women (even if they are C-list) and making millions, huh?

Yawn. You're such a grump, dude.

Leinart is a manwhore.

All the wolf haters are Leinhart's whores.

Scott,

I would be careful baggin on Matt. PC already cussed P Daddy out in public over basically the same deal.

P Daddy hasnt been the same since.

It barely rated a sentence because Booty's not nearly the star Matt was. He hasn't won squat yet and wasn't responsible for the best 3 year run in USC history. Oh and the last time I checked it wasn't illegal to hang out with C-list celebs, get drunk or even make a spectacle of yourself.

We get it. Matt liked the spotlight. He was also the greatest QB in CFB history. Get over yourself.

Wow, your anti-Matt posts are really sad...

Matt Leinart may like to party, but the dude won games.

And despite the Texas loss, Matt Leinart was unstoppable in that game. The clock just ran out on him before he could score yet another touchdown to win the whole enchilada (again).

Wait until Leinart wins a Super Bowl. Let the part begin!!

JDB better win an NC this year.

What's wrong with getting drunk and hitting on Scarlett Johanssen?

sounds like fun to me :))

USC1966: precisely. Scott, explain again why I wouldn't want to be:
1) rich,
2) handsome,
3) famous,
4) successful,
5) pursued by beautiful women,
6) normal?

Let me qualify my comment above about Pete Cussing out Petros.

I heard he just told him off in Public. I dont want to make a statement about Pete cussing at Petros. I cant confirm that.

You know what's great about this blog and blogs in general? The absence of editorial oversight.

I find it funny that posters like TrojanEncore often display more journalistic integrity than Scott does in their posts.

Scott would never have sent what he posted above regarding Matt Leinart's personal life to print at the Daily News but yet he still puts it here. I guess that's one of the benefits of the new internet age of journalism. They're just not held to the same standards.

I'm starting to think that Scott secretly wants to work at a celeb rag like US Weekly or People. He would be perfect as a beat reporter covering star-athletes. I can see it now..."Super Leinart Bowls over Biel".

Dude,

When are you going to finally come to terms with your "Man Crush" you have on Leinart so you can write stuff worth reading about. You know that if Matt came and told you that he's been a jerk and wants to get along with you, you'd be his BFF in a heartbeat. Get freakin' clue!!!

Don't Scarlett Johanssen and Maria Sharpanova at least qualify as B-list?

If they're C-List than lord knows where that puts Reggie's "friends" Ciara and Kim Kardashian.

Oh, and I'm going to call it right now. If John David Booty leads the Trojans to a NC this season and is drafted by a team south of the Mason/Dixon line he'll be tapping Carrie Underwood within 18 months.

This is from AOL Fanhouse:

"So far, some may consider USC quarterback John David Booty to be a second-rate version of Matt Leinart. In one season, the native Louisianan racked up as many losses as the Heisman Trophy winner...which may explain why when he goes out partying, it's Nicky, not Paris, Hilton that he hangs out with.
The Las Vegas Review Journal reports sighting the Trojan leading man last Friday at Ceasar's palace's Pure nightclub, where on the same night the lesser-known hotel heiress was partying it up with boyfriend David Katzenberg and, inexplicably, figure skater Michelle Kwan.
There's still five more days until Fall Camp begins for USC, so Booty had best get his Leinart-like partying out of his system this weekend."

Tyler with ALL due respect I will add the word unethical to your post. Encore is slanderous just like the flower child. If these silly posts and allegations continue you might as well make this blog the next soap opera digest...

Frankly I'm surprised Pete Carroll is concerned about what the 4th estate (and mind you an ex-football player radio broadcaster alum) thinks about a former quarterback.

I was pleased some 3 years ago when the university overruled Pete Carroll denying a player's request to transfer to UNLV - it seems as good as Pete Carroll is he still is the coach of the football team and he'd be better for all if he'd let the press do what they're supposed to do - comment. Otherwise you'll have nothing but Roy Firestone, Steve Bisheff and Jim Hill 'coverage' - no need to watch, listen or read - the script has already been 'seen' by the 'coach' and is ready for the hoi polloi.
