Thanks Scott I hope no UCLA coach breaks into my apartment while I am at work...

Will "Mitch and Me" contain an entire chapter dedicated to the mysterious bicycle pedal incident? Are you going to investigate what most people suspect, that Sanchez was behind it?

Scott:
What the heck is going on with Drew Radovich? I have seen recent pictures of him and he is completely fat and out of shape. What he has is beyond a mere beer belly. That boy looks like he is in his third trimester! Has he just decided to give up on being an athlete and are the coaching staff doing anything about it? Or will he just ride out the rest of his time on the pine and no longer cares about football?

Back in April before the spring scrimmage, you wrote that Mitch Mustain was going to specifically check out Mark Sanchez "before he made his official decision" to transfer to USC. So do you think after seeing and evaluating Sanchez in action, Mustain thought and knew he could take on Sanchez for the starting job and was confident about securing the position after what he saw?
Thanks for this forum, it is always very informative.

Scott,
Do you feel a sense of vindication now with Brynn Cameron confirming what you have said all along about Matt Leinart being a self-obsessed Hollywood suck-up whose behavior is embarrassing? With the story now going national and all kinds of media outlets picking it up, are you tempted to do an "I told you so!" kind of comment?
Fight on, Scott!

Scott! Well, so much has happened since last week, where does one even begin?
So is it not a pleasure these days to have to deal with someone the caliber of America's Quarterback, Mitch Mustain, who is quiet, dignified and modest, as opposed to people like Matt Leinart who have a false sense of their own celebrity self-importance, or Mark Sanchez who gets arrested and thrown in jail for sexual assault, among other problems?
Or is it better for you, as a journalist, to have players who cause controversy?
Mustain in 2008!

Scott.
What, if any, impact do think that the E. Scott situation will have for UCLA? Specifically in recruiting and with some of their key commits. There seems to be a lot of comments floating around that several early commits may be wavering. Something you may be able to validate.

Scott, is there any truth to the rumor that USC and Pete Carroll store their football playbooks in the Norwalk location that was burglarized earlier this week by some coach from some other school that thinks of itself as some-thing special but instead has accumulated a lengthy list of some knucklehead criminals and some who-gives-a-crap alumni? My Ex-Editor asked me to look into this since this debacle is causing some big headaches in some circles some-place near West L.A. Think this will help boost UCLA's recruiting in Southern California some-what? I am sure local football recruits will be saying, "Gee, a role model that I can look up to! If only I can learn to lie and cheat and steal like him!"

Scott,
I have two ranking questions...
1. Who are the top weightlifters (bench press) in the program. I hear Ellis, Spanos, Moody and Howell?
2. Can you rank the quarterbacks from tallest to shortest...I would guess
Corp-tallest, Mustain, Sanchez and Booty-shortest

What do you attribute to your blog becoming the biggest site for USC athletics this past year? Do you think it was breaking the Mitch Mustain transfer to USC and running with it? Like many others, I came to your blog every now and then, but once the Mustain stories started, it has become a daily read and everyone I know in Trojan circles read your blog rather religiously now.
So what do you credit for being the reason your blog went from an occasional read to what it is now? Could it be the Mustain phenomenon? Are you expecting more hits now with the Leinart-Cameron situation breaking nationally?

If Eric Snow needed money so badly, why didn't he just ask Matt if he could use one of his bedrooms....for a fee of course.
This issue with Morell Presley, what is his advantage to committing to USC now? I don't think he is allowed to sign a letter of intent for at least a year. God forbide, if he shatters his leg during his junior year, SC doesn't have to commit to a scholarship for him, do they?

Wolfy,
Here are my ?'s:
(I know only 1 per but when you discount some of comments made by the d-bags here, it averages out)
In the Pete Carroll era, besides Qb, USC hasn't really been solid in any one position we send to the NFL. Is SC using gimicky schemes that just don't work or has Pete Carroll not had enough of "his players" yet?
Did you ask PC when he'll start using McKnight and Patterson to return kicks?
Any chance any UCLA player decommits or does this give UCLA more street cred to recruit thugs?
Isn't $30,000/month a bit excessive? Is Brynn Cameron just really really bitter pissed?
Does Bryn hate Leinart more than you?
thanks for the time and the line

Eric Snow : Cleveland Cavaliers pointguard
Eric Scott : UCLA WR coach charged with home burglary
Wrong and still posted 3 times...
Scott,
1. Do you really plan to waste PC's time at the media day by asking about Matt's personal issues?
2. Doesn't the apparent lack of USC 1st round NFL selections just further confirm PC's ability as a coach? I mean he clearly doesn't have the talent some say he does if he can't even get some 1st round picks. What would he have been able to achieve if he had 4 first rounders like Les Miles did last year?

The defending National Champions signed a JC All- America QB, plus 5-star, and 4-star HS QBs, for their 2007 class. They have a 5-star, true sophmore, returning at this position. With all the "bull shit" on this blog, about who should transfer, character assassination, racial smears, etc......Do you think that Carroll and Meyer don't expect all these players to COMPETE/EARN the starting jobs?

Hey Door Knob -
Like the rest of the powder blue boys, you are throwing rocks from a glass house. You may wish to review your posts prior to hitting the submit button from now on. I'm no english major, but your sentence below has some grammer issues of it's own.
"If I were Sanchez I sue YOU for every penny you got."

Rex Cramer:
It is obvious that you are NOT an English major. What was it? I bet it was a BA of some kind! Do you have a BA with a history major perhaps? They can NOT think so they memorize! I was NOT an English major, either. My major required brains. BTW before you criticize anybody's [GRAMMAR] not grammer, Mr. Perfect, OK, look at your own writing which is a big fat joke. English is correct, english is NOT, got it? It was a computer issue/glitch since the screen went blank after I posted my thread. Writing [grammer and english] is utterly ridiculous on your part. Go to a local club and see how many of your jokes pass the test...
Mr. Emeritus I checked the sentence you questioned. There is NOT anything wrong with it. Notice that I wrote there NOT their like Mr. Wolf-a journalist with a degree. A simple grammar mistake by a journalist with a degree is totally inexcusable-end of the story.
Thank you

Here's a recent quote from Pete Carroll:
"We expect to have a balanced attack on offense in 2007. To do that, we need to improve the running game and get it to where it was in 2005 (when USC averaged 260.0 on the ground). We have the personnel to have that kind of offense, and with some hard work I anticipate we'll be productive offensively."
Scott, do you agree with Pete's assessment of the personnel being capable of replicating the '05 team's rushing feat? That means more than doubling last year's rushing output (128 yards/game). Personally, I'd be very pleased to see them do 200 yards/game.
Posted by: AlwaysBeatND
|
July 26, 2007 04:15 PM
More importantly, the '05 team averaged an unheard of 6.4 yards a crack, while the '06 team averaged a pedestrian 4.0 yards. The difference between 2nd down and 6, or 2nd down and 3 or 4. Big difference.

Listening to PMS today, I heard that Pete Carroll gave Petros an earful in front of everyone at the Pac-10 media day. Petros was saying that Pete was not happy with his comments regarding the whole Matt Leinart, Brinne Cameron, Cole Leinart situation. Was it as bad as Petros made it out to be and have you gotten any backlash for your constant Leinart bashing? I know you were listening because anything to do with Leinart immediately grabs your attention. This is due to the gigantic man crush that you have for Leinart, which comes out in repressive anger toward the former USC All-Everything QB. Kinda like the homophobic dad in the movie American Beauty that kills Kevin Spacey.

Hello Great Scott:
A note to some readers first if I may:
To USC1966, Jay#42, and Goliathtrojan: Just want to say thanks, guys!
To reader 28th street: You do good posts--please see my post of July 23rd, 12:35 am, in the comments section of the weekend mini-forum. If you care to reply, I would really be interested--you can post right under mine, and I'll look for it there in the comments section of the mini forum, as I said above.
Now back to the Great Scott: Wolfie, you said your limit was only three of the most likely yet to committ players--since one of your three committed last week, your millions of readers are hoping you will throw us a bone by naming another to bring us back to three, since you are on the inside, and are the confidant of coaches and recruits as well. Please don't tell me we have only two near-locks left--that would be trouble. Also, I often don't post my comments until a day after your answers, and I know you read those comments, so please be sure and wait for mine, heh heh.
All that being said, now for my question: When it is all over, do you think our recruiting class will end up in the top two or three this year?
Thanks a lot for having the open forum again--it is great. By the way, I assume Adewales' scholarship will count against our 85 limit in 2008--if I am wrong, please advise--thanks again!!!!!!!!
