A Camp Question

So far there's one issue regarding freshman tailback Joe McKnight, who will certainly return punts in some situations and showed value as a receiving back.
But can he run between the tackles? It's unanswered nearly 10 days into camp.

I think Joe can run between the tackles. For now however I believe we have other backs who run a bit better inside.

Why not spread the wealth.

It's deja vu all over again (read Reggie Bush). Only good enough to bump it outside, cut-back, and run for 1,740 yards and 16 TD's on his way to the Heisman.

They'll probably find a way to get Joe in the mix.

If McNight’s biggest issue is that he runs like Reggie Bush...that is a fantastic problem to have!

Of course, it's easier to run between the tackles if the hole is made by the OL. If there is no hole, he may just bounce it outside, ala Reggie, and make a big gain out of nothing. With his speed and moves, he is better on the outside anyway.

I hate to be the one to break the bad news, but the more you keep comparing your blue chip running backs to Reggie Bush, the more disappointed you will be. As much as it pains me to say it, Bush was truly one of a kind. Even the experts said that kind of talent comes around once every 20-30 years. To end a positive note....13-9

Wow....miguelito actually makes the first good point that he has ever made on this Blog...but had to ruin it with a “13-9"..but I guess that was to be expected.

Miguelito- I hate to be the one to break the bad news, but the more you keep comparing your one lucky win to the future of your program, the more dissapointed you will be. As much as it pains me to say it, 13-9 was truly a one of a kind fluke. Even most UCLA students have said that kind of lucky victory comes around once every 20-30 years. To end on a positive note, you will be crushed in the Coliseum this December and will quickly shrivel away and be gone from this site and no one will have to listen to your senseless banter any more.

i'm sorry, but i just cannot respect the opinion of someone who goes by the moniker, "lil' mikey"

"i'm sorry, but i just cannot respect the opinion of someone who goes by the moniker, "lil' mikey""....
Especially when he isn't even a graduate of the UCLA gang. But he sure knows how to work this blog and get people to talk about him and to him. Don't you think that is his real goal, and we all fall for it! No one elso gets the attention he's getting. Boycott anyone?

It was reported that McKnight had a huge run in the scrimmage the other night at the Coliseum. That run was supposedly "between the tackles" or as the newspaper reported, he "ran into the middle of the line".

Nice flip TireBiter. Though, I must admit that that was certainly among the most lucid posts made by Miguelito since that fateful day in December (We all know he wasn't posting here before that day and won't be back after this years massacre at the Coliseum.)

Miguelito's right (gag) I really wish some USC fans wuold stop saying McKnight is Reggie. USC lost 2 games last year by a total of 6 points. If they're 6 points better this year they'll be OK and should be in the NC game come January.
