Another Commitment

Wide receiver Brice Butler of Norcross, Ga., committed today. What's interesting about this is Butler and linebacker Brendan Beal visited several schools, including USC, at the same time last spring and became friends and USC remains the leader for Beal.

Is it a 3, 4, or 5 year deal? What was the signing bonus? How much cap room does USC have left?

I guess UCLA did not want.
The Bulldogs are just another in a long line of schools offering a scholarship to Butler. Florida State, Nevada, Louisville, UCLA, LSU, San Diego State, Oregon State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Washington State, California, Arizona St. Just another legacy player like the Marc Tyler, Wes Horton, who turned down the bruins.

As a native of Georgia, I love seeing USC get recruits from the South. Pisses the locals off.

Southerners hate anything from California that they can't beat (see Jeff Gordon).

By the way, is UCLA still on track to get a top 35 recruiting class?

Hey milk, I'm glad you follow your own team with such passion that you think he was a "legacy player"

"Both of Butler’s parents are Seminole alums and Butler’s father, Bobby, played football at Florida State and was coached by Bobby Bowden. In the end, they let their son make his own decision, despite the distance from home."

uzair3_21,

His point was not that Butler's dad was a Bruin. He just meant legacy as in Butler's dad having played for Bowden at Florida State and his son electing to play at USC, despite the heritage.

Every school has legacy recruits.
