Changing Story
Around 6 p.m., we heard wide receiver Jamere Holland was transferring and upset with his playing situation. USC coach Pete Carroll did not want to comment but later told us he dismissed Holland from the team after we spoke to him.
So who is right? If Holland wanted to leave, Carroll would only be too happy to get the scholarship back and give it to another recruit.
Carroll declined comment Sunday night but we hear there was some unhappiness with off-field issues, such as attending rehab sessions, meetings and practices. Still, Holland's never appeared to be that much of a problem.
We suspect chronic injuries played a large part in frustration on the coaches part. And Holland was frustrated with his role on the team.
Expect Florida, which hired Holland's former high school coach, Troy Starr, to be in touch with Holland.

Dude is made of glass. Even as a Bruin, I can totally see Holland being "left in the dust" of other players.
Hell, not only was VH1 ahead of Holland, but suddenly David Ausberry sprung to the top of the depth chart in 2007 ahead of Hazelton.
In other words, even if Patrick Turner left to the NFL after this season...next year's starters would be Ausberry and Damian Williams.
Damian Williams is the next Marvin Harrison!!!
Mustain to Damian Williams...you guys are lucky!!!!!!!!! I'm JEALOUS!!!

100 NCAA Titles has my vote for this blog's favorite bruin, if we ever had to name such a thing.
how in the hell could he be upset with his playig position when he hasn't practiced in 2 years. he was dismissed so there's no controversy here
anyone have any idea what 100 is talking about?
anyway..not much of a loss here..Jamere is a good kid I am sure but..I hardly ever even heard of him practicing much less playing..he was always hurt.
He needs to just stick to track..
Sounds like 100 NCAA Titles might know more about USC's wide receiving corp than UCLA's.
USC 1966,
That's what I don't get about this whole Holland thing. How can he possibly be so upset if HE was always getting hurt?! How is that Pete's fault? Did he really expect Pete to just sit back, twiddle his thumbs and wait for him to get healthy in 2009.
USC needed burner receivers badly - Holland was that guy. He couldn't stay healthy long enough to get through one fall camp.
RoJo and Patterson are now the replacements. Case closed. End of story. If you can't stand the heat...
After the Moody transfer came out, PC said that the reason a lot of kids choose USC is because they want to get playing time early on but that then some of them maybe don't realize that once they get here the competition doesn't back off.
If a player decides he can't handle it or needs to leave for "business" reasons, I bear them no ill will... but they are basically saying they don't want to have to deal with the competition level at 'SC. It just means the ones who stay are committed to fighting the good fight.
