Punter Greg Woidneck had two punts blocked last night but USC coach Pete Carroll blamed himself. Freshman linebacker Malcolm Smith was inserted on the punt team for the first time during training camp and the veterans immediately exploited it.
It was one of those trial-by-error moments. I guess we'll say the same thing about the passing game under pressure. For now.
