Live From Salute To Troy

Long autograph lines for Pete Carroll but even longer lines for a drink. Joe McKnight and every other player are gamely signing autographs. I don't see a big group after Mitch Mustain, surprisingly.
I might have to leave because three people asked me to take pictures of them with Patrick Turner. But several other people say they are fans of the blog! The blog!
Now it's time to introduce 105 players. Time for a break. At least the fireworks draw praise among the crowd of 3,500, up from 3,100 last year. Who went that did not belong or know someone in a support group?

Thats because they want to put the pix on myspace to look cool for women! Thus, increasing their ability to pick up women online! Duh Scott!

great blog bro...seriously!

Scott Wolf>Adam Rose...NO QUESTION!

Did anyone ask you to take a picture of them with Petros? I'm sure he'd love that.

Scott Wolfe, dumb as a stump: "I don't see a big group after Mitch Mustain, surprisingly."

That's because TrojanQueerForMustainNYC and his multiple aliases is trolling the East Village tonight.

Only on the blogs is there a fascination with Moostain, where 1 guy can look like 20. Woofie, you are hopelessly naive.

Quick question....we're hearing a lot of Mustain, but what's up with transfer Damian Williams? I know he must sit a year, but has he been practicing and scrimmaging?

Congrats, Scott. When a hanger-on from Westwood High compliments your Trojan coverage, obviously you've arrived.

I was at Salute to Troy, and while Mustain may be popular, how many of us really know what he even looks like? I have to be honest, I don't really know what he looks like and couldn't tell him apart from Mike McDonald in a crowd.

Great night though.

I remember when this event had far fewer people and much better food! It was far too crowded last night and seemed like a free-for-all. I suppose bandwagon fans are the price we get for success.

I looked for you last night, Scott, but you were nowhere to be found. That's too bad as I really would have liked to have talked to you and thanked you personally for your fine blog. I could not not even track down John Robinson after his speech.

There is always next time!

So the person who continues to hide behind the name of America's Quarterback (along with many other aliases) is all alone in front of a computer screen at 10:03 PM on a Friday night talking about homosexuality, as usual.

Everyone else in the world is out getting on with their lives, so as usual, he continues his absolute obsession with homosexuality, which is the only thing he ever talks about, and is in front of a computer screen, all alone, on a Friday night. Classic!

It was a good night, nothing particularly groundbreaking. My family enjoyed the event, especially seeing the athletes from other sports selling products. I did not see Mustain or Corp, but everything seemed to revolve around Pete. With Norm Chow gone, the focus of the fans is all on Pete these days, with the other coaches not even getting a look.

As Scott noted, the lines were pretty long. The food was pretty dry, but that's the norm for these kind of events.

Enjoyable night, but not essential attendance. The real test of the season will be Nebraska, with the Idaho game being nothing more than a glorified scrimmage.

TrojanSAEqueerForMustainNYC, and what are you hiding behind? Mitch Moostain's butt-cheeks with his digit in your mouth? But I guess that kind of talk just gets you hot and bothered. Where I come from the night hasn't even begun at 10:00 PM. Go home and drink your Moostain milk and cream.

TrojanSAEqueerForMustainNYC's secret is out:

Funny you bring that up, because many members of the USC Board of Trustees actually are SAE, and Carroll does answer to them!

At USC, alumni run the show and they overwhelmingly support Mustain as the starter.

Your argument is very flawed and you never addressed what has been said by SC coaches to alumni (whom they work for and answer to), that Sanchez is out of his depth at the college level and has not developed the way they had hoped.

So you didn't even go to SC and are telling me what I should think about my alma mater? Well, I can't even begin to tell you what is wrong with that. The SC coaches do answer to the alumni, whom they work for.

SC is a private university and football is there for the entertainment of its alumni and as a PR tool. The coaches answer to the alumni and tell them what's going on.

As I said, I am an alumnus of USC. That means Pete Carroll works for me.

That is much too funny. Several people say similar things (but not really that similar, but you get the point...), so they must be the same person? Good luck with that theory. You will do anything to link unrelated events to each other, even though you are only one using different aliases. You are so obsessed with me, it's comical. No wonder you are alone on Friday night in front of a computer. How sad.

Mustain in 2008!

I was there last night and it was quite an enthusiastic event. The pyrotechnics made it feel like the 4th of July and even though there was nothing new to report, it is always interesting to see how big the new players on the roster are in person.

If you ever get invited to this event, I suggest you attend at least once just to say you've been to it.

Fight On!

Hey buddy, leave me out of any vendetta you have with someone else. This is the only time I will warn you about this.

Scott: What was the point of your dig on Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush not signing autographs TWO YEARS AGO??

Does it fit into the story? No, not really. Does it fit into your personal vendetta which is a waste of ink and space on your articles? Yes.

Grow up man...it is very tired and has lost any of its 'charm' it may have held for some before...now it just exposes you as someone who abuses his position as a pseudo-journalist to continue to harangue about Leinart and Bush.

Is Mitch a lively guy? He seemed pretty quiet on the sideline at the Scrimmage last Wednesday. However that may just be a result of being a new kid on the block. It may take time for the comfort level to come.

I do think Mitch is overblown on this site however. From my observations I was not overly impressed with what he did Wednesday night. I actaully liked the way Corp handle hisself and how he performed Wed.

I also believe that Sanchez is more of one of the boys with his teammates from my overservation than Mustain. Sometimes other players pull for players to start who they feel more comfortable with all things being equal.

...so I sit down at our table last night for the Salute to Troy Dinner...and who is at the table right next to us...none other than Booty and Mustain (plus their family and friends...but surprisingly no Wolfie)!

Booty was great with all the fans (apparently he did not have a problem signing autographs and taking pictures...despite the fact that he was hounded all night), and not too many people bothered Mustain (I don’t think they recognized him unless they knew his number). Mustain was also very friendly. Booty and Mustain looked like they are pretty good friends.

Definitely the nicest guys at the Salute to Troy (that I met) were: Sedrick Ellis, Taylor Mays, RoJo, Hazelton and surprisingly Everson Griffith. Everson was all smiles and seemed happy to be there...which was a big surprise after hearing some of Wolfie’s practice stories about being cocky.

...and for Door Prize - Sanchez was very gracious with all of the fans last night...and despite his thumb being wrapped up...he still signed autographs for all of the kids.

Biggest A-holes (which you can’t really blame them...b/c they have to smile and sign autographs for 4 hours) were...Baker (who just seemed out of it) and Joe McNight (who was not friendly and kind of walked around like he thought he was Reggie Bush).

Wow Knob, your last three posts really provide a lot of insight about USC Football (FYI - that was me being sarcastic again b/c I know you don’t always pick it up)...but thank you for giving me a good laugh this morning (...you really don’t think that any of these childish posts actually get under my skin...do you?)!

But seriously...you should have taken my previous advice...sometimes it is just better to leave the keyboard alone, instead of just writing a bunch of basura that nobody but you can really understand. It only makes you look more ridiculous than you already do...if that is possible. And if you are going to spend your weekend on a USC Football Blog (the week before USC’s first Football game)...and the three posts above are the best things that you can muster...you might be on the wrong website. But flunt on!

PS - You never answered my previous question (which I have asked you several times)....were you wrong when you were El Capitan and criticized everyone for using profanity...or are you a hypocrite today because you can’t seem to get through a post without using profanity or a Spanish racial slur?

chango4nothing:
It is OK for you to use obscene acronyms but if I blast you it is a crime. WOW little changa would you answer that? As long as you continue to be a hypocritical idiot I will have a ball blasting a renegade chango like you. Practice what you preach you damn chango.
Keep selling yourself to the Anglos chango.

Does that mean you do or do not want the Mark Sanchez autographed ball I got for you?

chango4nothing:
Whenever you want to mess with my 185 pounds let me know you damn chango4nothing boy...
I am sick of your damn bool$#*T.

...I'll take that as a no.
