Everson Griffen - the new Mustain?

Maybe all the discussion will have some merit since he can actually play this year.

EG will have 10+ sacks this year and all this talk will not matter. Mark it down.

The guys's a stud and barring injury will be the best DE to have ever played at USC by the end of his career.

Who's the gutsy guy who had to be anonymous about Griffen being on the team? Does he know something we don't? I didn't know Griffen wasn't on the team. The Griffen-Moore conversation seems to be overblown by YOU.

Is Everson your newest muck-raking target Scott?

Was this a backhanded compliment?

"He's a freshman who acts like he is a sophomore and already belongs on the team," said one Trojan.

Maybe he meant a freshman who acts sophomoric?!?

Kyle Moore had better be paying attention to EG...because he's going to be spending a lot of time standing the sideline watching EG play ahead of him for the majority of this season.

does anyone know if the scrimmage is open to the public? thanks!

san55543,

The scrimmage is closed. The only Coliseum scrimmage that might be open to the public is the one scheduled for the 22nd.

Hi Tyler: It is OPEN on the 22nd!

Scott,

Dont mess with Everson unnessasarily. The kid is only an 18 yr old freshman. You can creat and brew something and destroy a kid before he gets his feet wet. I wouldnt want to have you and PC to have the same confrontation that he had with Petros.

You made a big deal about Everson last week in your article. Yet I saw nothing even mention about that in the L.A. Times.

From what I have seen of the kid hes a fun loving friendly guy. I met his mom she is the same. If he shows maturity and seems to act like hes been in the program for a while i dont see any problem with that. Maybe its the problem of whatever jealous few players you are getting this info from.

Scott Wolf

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
