Moody Out

Sophomore tailback Emmanuel Moody transferred Wednesday night, possibly to Oklahoma State.
He is the first tailback to leave after much speculation that someone would depart because of the number of tailbacks on the roster.

My mouth is ajar.

How Do You Do??

The Sports Illustrated COVER JINX!!

Fight On!

What a loser - have fun losing to Texas and Oklahoma every year.

I honestly thought Gable would be the first to go. I'm not going to be concerned about this until we lose another 3 backs.

Why am I not surprised....I called this out last week, much to the anger of RickyRingsBells aka Dumbass.

Stats don't always tell the truth and Moody flat out couldn't cut it. He wasn't very durable and felt the heat from Stafon and Bradford. USC competition at its purest. USC will get along just fine because we are stacked.

Here's a nice thought. Moody was the 3rd or 4th back on the USC depth chart coming into 2007. He's now the 3rd or 4th best back in the big XII.

A good move for him. Maybe the year off will give him a chance to get healthy.

2 more will go this year and they should. If you don't have an NFL body you'll never stay healthy at SC.

8 left? C. Washington, H. Dennis, C.J. Gable, J. McKnight, M. Tyler, B. Green, S. Johnson, and Bradford? Am I missing any TBs?

uscjd: Desmond Reed?

I'm surprised a change came so early. If must have felt strong for him that he was going to far down the deph chart. Scott how many more do you think we'll lose when the top 3-4 on the deph chart are announced? I wish Moody luck.

Thats too bad...he was Pac10 Frosh of year and he leaves...you gotta compete...i guess he wants an easier road...cant blame him...theres only one ball and 10 backs...why not transfer to UCLA? they need backs

Damn. I liked watching him run last year. Oh well. Good luck, Emmanuel.

Maybe Wolfe can confirm, but I heard Moody wanted to transfer to ucla but they declined when they learned he was heterosexual. Just a rumor, mind you.

i wonder how much influence his uncle/handler, michael chang, had on this decision? i wish him the best of luck and hope he lights the big 12 on fire.

That's really really too bad...he is a good athlete. It takes balls to go to USC when you are from Texas I respected that.

2 things:

1. He was the only RB the other coaches said they were afraid of...the rest of our RB's, Johnson, Washington, Tyler, Green,Dennis, etc., are all bigger, between the tackles runners. Moody was the one with a little shake and bake who could get outside and break a 40 yard run. Hope McKnight can play alot.

2. I can see this as the start of the exodus...For example, if, as Scott informed us, Ausberry is now the starter I don't see Vidal Hazelton hanging around for long sitting on the bench. His dad has probably already called him and told him to transfer to Penn st. Ditto for A. Bradford, B. Carswell, etc.

He didn't transfer to ucla because if he couldn't cut it practicing against the Trojan defense, he damn sure didn't want to have to deal with it in a meaningful game!
Goliathtrojan

Well I guess that opens up one spot on the pine. Moody was fun too watch, but had a little too much shake and not enough bake to cut it at USC.

To Classof2007:

Moody a loser? Cut him some slack. He did the ballsy thing and came to USC in the SAME YEAR SC LOST TO TEXAS. Think of the grief this guy got every time he went home to TEXAS!

The kid wants to play. He is clearly not going to here, so why not go somewhere he can? OK ST is near his family and he'll have a chance to be an every down back in the Big 12. This doesn't make him a loser.

(Some would argue the loser's are the people like us commenting on blogs all the time!)

66:
I disagree with you about Hazelton:
He'll get get more playing time once he recovers from his groin injury. IMHO Hazelton is just as good as the other two. You'll see!

Anyone know what Moody's major is? One of my buddies is the assistant dean of the biz technology program (or something like that) at OK State. I sure hope he wasn't involved in luring Moody away. I'll never hear the end of it anyway.

I wish him the best, but I also wish the players would check with the fans and alums on the message boards before picking where to transfer. Is that too much to ask?

Scottware...still pissed because you got exposed for what you really are? You're a pathetic loser b/c you called a COLLEGE player (and one who led the team rushing) "garbage" not because you said he might transfer. It's there in black and white. So who's the dumbass? No none gives a s--t what you think anymore......

Classof2007: I'm still laughing at the thought of an anonymous kid at a keyboard calling a great player who put it on the line to leave his state to compete with the best running backs in the nation a "loser".........

Best of luck to him.

Edit: Led the team in YPC, not total yards

Moody has been hurt since last year. What did he think the coaches were going to, just wait until he recovers and not push the other guys? Moody's uncle tried to manage his career in high school, but the SC coaches wouldn't listen to him. Good riddance.

Ricky , you really got the term "pathetic loser" on lock down. You must hang out with your kids alot. Or Miguelito.

You just criticize other people's posts and offer no useful, debatable insight. I called Moody "garbage" and because he led the team in YPC means nothing. That just speaks to the quality of our rushing attack last year. And we all know our rushing attack last year was nothing to be scared of. Sorry, I did't mean for the "garbage" comment to hurt your ovaries.

Moody couldn't cut it and you can't see past that. Get over it. Life goes on and so will the battle for carries. We got C-Dub, Prince, and Hersh and many others to replace Moody. If you get pissed at everything that is said, you don't belong on this blog, or any other. I am through with this jerkoff.

Moody was definitely a solid tailback and OSU is lucky to have him. It is best for both him and USC to transfer. The coaches need to focus on the ones will a real shot. I don't think Gable has it from what I saw last year. It's still way up in the air. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bradford transfer, he never sounds happy with the way things are.

Weak and sad, Scottware. For someone truly "done with this jerkoff" you just can't stop yapping can you? Tell you what: ring up your buddy Classof2007 and head over to campus, find Moody and tell him how he's "garbage" and a "loser". When you're both done picking broken teeth out of your mouths, come on back here and feel free to continue judging better men than you.

Wow. Ricky Bell v. Scott Ware...this should be a fight club forum on the PMS show.

Moody will probably make all American now. I would not be surprised to see other's go.

This many running back was a mistake

JJH4USC: It's the perfect hedge against male menopause.......

Is the person who posts as "scottware" the former USC safety Scott Ware?

If so, I remember him as a tremendous hitter who knocked opponents on their backside, and I'm not so sure that Ware would be picking broken teeth out of his mouth.

Good luck to Moody. He has talent, but seems prone to injury.

Scott Wolf

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
