More Holland
So Jamere Holland wanted to transfer and Pete Carroll dismissed him for missing meetings, etc.
Whatever happened depends on who's view you subscribe to. We hear Holland wants to go to a school where he can featured more (sound familiar?) and was never happy at USC.
So would he be "dismissed" if he did not want to leave? That's a real question.

Comments
Good riddance to Holland.

We've heard different stories Scott. Anyway, if he did ask him to leave SC because he isn't happy rather than benching him or even kicking him off the team (if it was a major behavior problem) it would be new and out of character. The track team would be only to happy to pick him up and having him play with a cortisone shot in his groin as an elite sprinter rather than rehab is not the way to go for a kid (if that is true). On the other hand I think he has been resisting the move to corner which is where he is needed and maybe he won't get some of those injuries. You're really going after PC aren't you? Hope you're not lying because it is contrary to everything I've seen and heard and it would mean you have an agenda.

You can't fire me, I quit! Sounds pretty mutual to me.
Good luck to the young man wherever he ends up.
Can't wait for the seson to begin.
Fight On!

Tommy's brother, you must be a real dillweed to make a comment like that. Read the Times and the Register -- they both have the same story. Cretin.

WHy are so many people freaking out over these kids leaving. It was bound to happen.
Both kids got hurt a lot and when you do that with a team that's as deep as USC you fall off the depth chart. Quick. PC isn't about to wait for a kid to get healthy. You're hurt? You get left behind...

Anyone have any added info as to why he would be dismissed? It would have to be more than just for missing meetings.
Jamere has had a tough go with injuries his whole stay at USC. I also questioned why we had him running the relays in the NCAA finals when he wasnt really healthy. I also have to say why not just let him focus on Track instead of Spring Football? I believe that can lead to injuries to try to participate in 2 sports that call for the different uses of muscles at the same time.
I wish him the best. If he plans to go to Oregon. They have a very good track program there as well as football team.

OMG did I question Scott Wolf? Did his mini me have to respond lest someone doubt Wolf's integrity? And you had to duplicate post it too? Dillweed? Yeaaah...
Half the papers recycle stories from the next blog. But they did not all say what Scott said or implied. Others said that Holland failed to follow his rehab and practice schedule. Some said he was kicked off the team and he would transfer not asked to leave school (which PC doesn't have the authority to do of course). PC has kept around Desmond Reed, Chauncey Washington, Hershel Dennis and a host of other players that have had health issues and he has kept scholies for high school kids like Tyler, Shoemate, et alia. Even when he kicked off the Ting kid for steroids he kept it under his hat so the kids could finish college. Dismissal sounds like kicked out and there was obviously a reason. Holland may have fell victim to outside recruiting with his injury causing a drop in track performance and football performance. PC if anything has got a reputation for being a little chummy with the kids and loose with the second chances instead of the other way around so Holland may have really been showing his butt. Maybe Scott is showing his butt too or maybe he's suggesting that there is more to Holland's behavior, which could very well be true.

Reading the Shareece Wright quotes, sounds like Holland was VERY unhappy, wasn't all there, didn't buy into the program, etc, etc. A guy like that has got to go before he negatively affects the team.

Does anyone even know who this guy was??? Ever really seen him play? Thought not because he's been an absolute mess from the start. And now his throws a fit because freshmen are getting more time in practice... please. Have fun in Oregon playing in those lovely green and yellow jerseys at the Insight Bowl the next couple of years...

Clemdiggity - “Does anyone even know who this guy was???” I hope you were being sarcastic. Holland was a fantastic high school football player from Taft (ala Steve and Malcolm Smith...have you heard of them?)...and became a 4 Star recruit because he also won the California State Championships in the 100 and 200 meters. Holland has a boat load of talent (great hands and runs a 4.40), but since his senior year of high school, has always been injury prone...and like Moody fell down the depth chart.

Sorry JJ, but that was high school and you need to produce in college or you get run over by the new kids!!

Petey is covering his backside. Holland asked to transfer, and PC tries to get the last word to spin perception in the wake of the Moody transfer. Then Wright shows some doubt and ends up practicing with the 1´s. Can you immagine the press attention he would get if three top, young players bailed on the program in a week? Add it all up. Everyone knows Petey would throw anyone under the bus to save his image. The big question should be is, why is SC so thin at DT and OL? And, what happens to BCS championship hopes if either or Baker or Ellis go down this year? The team will become pretty average pretty quickly.

Oh.... he was great in HIGH SCHOOL, now his body can't keep it together. JJ - how many games did he play in...? um... hmmmmmm... Oh, he was good in practice and had a lot of promise - no doubt - but had a bad attitude.
I'm sorry, every kid who comes to USC knows the drill - be prepared to get your butt handed to you by some 4-5 star recruit if you are not fit enough or smart enough to compete at this level. There are plenty of guys who come to the program who have to wait their turn in order to gain the maturity both mentally and physically to play at this level - Patrick Turner, Vidal, Stafon - all off the charts high scool prep superstars, but had to wait their turn, stay healthy and positive. So what does Holland do?? He pouts like a baby who lost his blanket...
He was injured and redshirted which means there are absolutely NO guarantees. I have no doubt that he was FAST and talented, but so is everyone else. He lost out on Trojan attitude and humility - missing meetings, not showing up??? Are you joking me? NO coach is going to put up with that especially PC who has a gazillion other premadonna rock star recruits to deal with on this team.
