Hypothethical could Kentucky beat Usc if they matched up in like November and USC had to travel to Lexington. They seem to have all the variable you like such as, experienced quarterback, two experienced recievers, and experienced runningback.

Hey Scott, thanks again for fielding our redundant questions. Here's a new one for you (I think):
What will USC look like defensively when it goes into its nickel packages? My back seven would include T. Thomas, C. Harris, T. Mays, K. Ellison, J. Pinkard, K. Rivers, and R. Maualuga? Your thoughts?

First of all, Hail Mitch!
Now that I have that out the way, do you think Petros Papadakis secretly misses the Tings no longer being on the team? Did the Tings or Leinart provide him with more material for his show? Does he actually have a special place deep in his heart for the Tings and misses no longer being able to talk about them?

Was Mitch Mustain given a copy of the playbook when he enrolled at USC in May, so he could start learning it, or will he have to wait until training camp begins to get a copy?
Thank you, as always for this great forum you provide.

Scott-
Will you have something like a message board up on this website where we can discuss and post our own topics, threads, replies, etc.? Like something such as wearesc.com or some type of message board? (this is not 2 questions, just 2 question marks..lol. It's the same question, but with diff. parts!)
Think about it...that would generate 10X the hits you already have....because the wearesc forum had lots of good posters leave after scout.com took away the message boards around the national signing day. I mean, we all like your blog, but once many Bruins and Trojans left wearesc.com....they came here instead! (since it was the next best thing, but now is THE BEST thing)
The reason I ask is because www.wearesc.com has gone downhill since scout broke up the message boards.
Wearesc.com is sooo friggin' slow!!!!!!! Maybe you can have something that uses the VBulletin format...its great! Maybe a message board like the one located here:
http://www.the-sportszone.net/forum/index.php
Anyways, this was not a flame. Just wondering about a way where everyone on this blog could converse in ways other than thru the "comments" section of your posts.
An answer would be much appreciated Scott. Just think, with a message board, more traffic and hits for you, plus you wouldn't have to answer as many questions probably...since a message board would be where Trojans could answer redundant questions for the less-informed!
Either way, I need a new message board because wearesc.com sucks!!! Seriously! And I would love coming on your blog to a message board as well!
13-9!!

Hello, oh Great Wolfman:
Last time I asked about Carroll giving Adewale a two year scholarship and if that would count against us in 2008. Obviously, I asked because I wasn't sure, but I would have guessed about 80% that it would.
Your answer was that it would not count against us in 2008 because his football playing days would be over. I am sure you are correct-but now I am puzzled about some other stuff, so I'll ask my one question, and then try and elaborate on what I mean by it.
My question is: Not counting the rules, or, better put, rules notwithstanding, when does a coach have SOLE discretion to add more years[like apparrently what happened to Adewale], or to take away a scholarship after the kid has signed in February?
Perhaps examples will help-suppose Chilo Rachel has a good season next year, and is thinking of turning pro. Can Carroll come to him and say,"Hey, stick around, and I'll give you two more years in case you get hurt, or the pro gig doesn't work out-then you can get a Masters'?"
Or, conversely, let's say Joe Allstar is the #1 rb. in the country. As a recruiting tool, could Carroll say, "hey, sign here and I'll give you a 7 yr. scholarship[for same reasons as Chilo above?"}
Or, say Allstar signs with USC, then breaks his spine as a freshman. Does he still count against our 85 limit? If so, can Carroll be a jerk and pull it?
Or, say Allstar signs and [1] turns out to be way over-rated, can't even make 4th string OR [2] turns out to fair, say second string, but blows off practices, doesn't learn playbook, ad. infinitum, can Carroll pull his scholarship in either case? I know the coach can try and ease the kid out, like they did to Adewale years ago, or to Ashley, but can they actually yank it in either of those two cases mentioned above?
I know this is long-winded, but I'm just trying to explain some of the stuff I'm now wondering about.
Still, it all goes back to one question, namely, when does a coach have SOLE discretion to add to--or to pull a kids' scholarship? There must be some general rule you could tell us here, Scott. Anyway, I hope so!! Thanks in advance for whatever info you can provide here, Scott--Sincere thanks!

You previously posted that USC may take 6 OLineman, and one of them could be a converted DLineman.

Is there a place we can go to see individual stats for last year? I'm really curious about the distribution of passes by position and player, and I'm sure it's a low priority on your research list -- somewhere south of Mustain's toenail grooming regimen.

Scott, what effect has Daddy Bob Leinart had on Matt Leinart's lifestyle? Also, is Tom Condon still Matt's agent, and does he "advise" him on how to spend his free time (i.e., quit hanging out with the wrong "image" people)? I still think he should have hired Jerry Maguire as his agent even though the dude sometimes jumps up and down on Oprah's sofa like a madman.

Scott,
I know that space is limited, but are there any future plans to add practice field space? Most schools have at least 2 full fields, if not more. It would be beneficial to have an artificial grass field to use that would cut down on the wear and tear of Howard Jones.

Hi Scott:
There have been alot of rumblings about which freshman will redshirt and which won't? I hear Marc Tyler, Aaron Corp, Broderick Green, Martin Coleman and Michael Reardon-1/4 of our incoming class-will likely redshirt because of conditioning issues. Who of this bunch do you think will redshirt and who will be on the fall roster when the season starts?
Second, there is also talk that Stefon Johnson might be moved to defensive back if he doesn't crack the backfield rotation this fall. How much of that is true?
Thanks.

Scott, In my observation of the PC era, he has sometimes tended to wait overly long to put reserves in, especially early in the season. Besides the chance of injury, I'm always looking to see the backups come in with their energy and see what they can do. Assuming we have the game in hand by halftime, when might we see a QB change do you think?

If you do some research you'll find out that Mr. Walsh is/was considered the QB guru/genius. Furthermore Sam Wyche and ex-Trojan Mike Holmgren follow, they both coached under Mr. Walsh. Emphatically I say follow NOT that they are genius like Mr. Walsh but close according to the FB experts.
Based on that I dare to say it would have been possible. If you put into perspective look at Joe Montana and Steve Young. Let's keep the respect for Mr. Norm Chow another QB guru.
About three years ago I was watching a story about Sam Wyche. He was talking to a HS QB who was coached by his father. The kid later stated that he learned more about the QB position after talking Mr. Wyche for two or three hours than he has learned from his father his entire life!
