Redshirt freshman defensive lineman Alex Parsons moved to offensive tackle.

Can anyone explain this to me?

I know we are a little short on lineman, but we have like 5 or 6 coming in. If Byers and Rachal stay, I don't see why there is a need for another lineman. I can think of Howell, O'Dowd, Lewis, Heberer, Herring and a few others off the top of my head.

Was he doing that poorly on defense? I heard he did great..he asked to switch?

Probably because Michael Reardon beat him out.

Reardon stays on D, Parsons switches to O.

hmmm...yeah or Spicer or Simmons...good point 100

He is only a RS-Freshman, even if he was beaten out by older players now, that doesn't seem like a great reason to switch him to OLine.

And i don't think Reardon has anything to do with it since he is a DE, and Parsons is a DT.
