Recruiting Lesson

| | Comments (14) |

If you need a lesson on how not to handle making a commitment, a good illustration might be offensive lineman Hamani Stevens of Hemet. Stevens committed to UCLA, then backed off when USC showed interest during summer camp season.
But USC never offered him a scholarship and UCLA no longer has a scholarship available. Hello Arizona! That's why it pays to always keep your commitment, even if you are looking at other schools on the side.

I think UCLA still has a slot or two available but I don't know if Stevens is at the top of the list for those last few rides. The Bruins could use another OL too, so I wouldn't write off Stevens going to Westwood just yet.

Actually, the lesson is don“t be a tool/collateral damange in slimeball“s effort to keep recruits from UCLA.

Oh dear, sweet, mercy from above.

Is michael another Bruin trolling this board? I can't take much more of this...

I'm just guessing that slimeball refers to Pete Carroll in your description. Very clever.

Actually did I say clever? I meant idiotic.

Don't worry, Michael, you'll have a few new scholarships available soon after your own slimeball Scott is booted. Have we already forgotten about Henley, HandicapGate, Cory Paus, SUVgate and Sammie G.?

Thats just a dumb comment.

All we did was invite him to our camp, we never told him we'd offer. '

Now if Hamani wanted to de-commit because he was sure he would get that offer, than that is Hamani's choice, but to say that Pete had some plan to keep Hamani out of UCLA's hand is just a dumb comment.

UCLA could have easily not given that sweet two-star kicker a scholarship, and held a place for Hamani, but Dorrell is an idiot.

hey scottie...

We don't rob homes in norwalk and we don't have assistant coaches carrying guns. By the way, do you think UCLA's recruits checked their homes for missing valuables? I mean, Scott really knows how to close a recruit with an in-home visit.

Those 17 year olds are getting less and less savvy every year, huh Scott?

Um, Scottie:

Let's see, off the top of my head ... Donnie Edwards, Justin Medlock, DeShawn Foster, Skip Hicks, 13 players in the handicapped parking scandal, Ricky "Laptop" Manning, Maurice Drew, Cade McNown and partying with mobsters, Eric Scott, that recruit two years ago who robbed a bank, a top ten finish in 2006 in Fulmer Cup points, fans last year taking out a SC fan's eye, Sanjaya ...

Y'all are full of it. The self-righteous sanctimony of Bruin fans is completely nauseating.

I suppose, if I cared about UCLA, I could make a list to match the list you and Nestor (who you most likely stole it from) created in that sandbox of his. But I don't care about UCLA. Win, lose, it's all the same to me. I don't pay much attention.

I think that's what really irks Bruin fans about SC fans. You are obsessed with us, even the lyrics to your fight song includes us. You have no identity other than hating SC. You could go 1-11 next year, but if you beat SC, half of your fan base will think it's a successful season.

Most SC fans could care less about UCLA, our most storied football rival is Notre Dame, not you. If we go 9-3 and beat you but miss out on the Rose Bowl, it's not considered a successful season.

Look at the two blogs in DN. Few SC trolls post on Dohn's UCLA blog. But y'all are here day after day, bitter and hatin'. And look at the fan blogs. WEARESC rarely deletes Bruin trolls, and Paragon's Conquest Chronicles never deletes the many trolls that comment on his site unless they are completely obnoxious. But BRO bans a lot of people for the slightest criticism, and Nestor will delete any post that does not comply within the orthodoxy and group-think of that alternative universe he maintains over at BN.

Oh well, I've got an NC to dream about. So flame on ...

Miguelito -- that's right, Carroll got outcoached by a moron to the tune of 13-9. So how do you account for the moron representing you tot the tune of 66-19, 45-22, 55-21 and 27-0 prior to that fluke? Amazing how easily hope swells up in the chest of a gnat.

Yep, your right, we did have Darryl Henley and hanidcap fiasco. However, that was not under the current coach. Under your CURRENT COACH, you have cheaters, roid users, rapists and drug dealers. We cleaned our house. Yours stinks of excrement.

And your fans are rotten to the core at the Mausoleum. Both schools have intoxicated idiot fans. That's a problem common to both schools at home games. Nobody wins there.
