This is to be expected and Sanchez has no one to blame but himself. He put himself in this situation and the stigma of sexual assault will follow him around for the rest of his life. It comes with the territory and he should expect these kinds of comments and criticisms wherever he plays, from both the fans of USC and other schools on the schedule.

It is hard to have sympathy for Sanchez in this situation and the innuendo and stigma of sexual assault will never go away for him. A momentary mistake damages a reputation for a lifetime and this is the residual effect he has to live with.

I don't know what's funnier, the fool who says he defends Sanchez by telling everyone Sanchez is a violent thug who will break their teeth, or the fact that he cannot say anything in coherent English! If this is Sanchez's supporter, then Sanchez must be cringing and begging for him to stop.

Unfortunately, the effects of sexual assault do not disappear after a year and it is a very difficult crime to convict. In fact, it is the most difficult of all crimes to get a conviction for. Time will not make this go away for Sanchez, just as time has not made people reevaluate OJ Simpson or the individuals who beat Reginald Denny yet were never convicted.

I have to agree with the reader who says that simply because some time has passed, it should not be brushed aside. So what if the incident of sexual assault occurred several months ago? Does that mean Sanchez should be given a pass? The fact is, there is FAR more to the story than most people know about and I will not get into it on an internet blog, since it is not the appropriate forum.

This case has not gone away and from I have been told, it could come back to haunt Sanchez in a major way in the future. Just because it "occurred some 15 months ago" does not mean it should be forgotten and swept under the rug. At the end of the day, Sanchez is on a scholarship at USC and should be expected to represent the university in a manner that is worthy of such an institution. When he was arrested, he clearly did not live up to his side of the agreement. There have been quite a few other off the field incidents with Sanchez as well, in addition to his arrest for sexual assault.

So, no, it does not matter that the incident "occurred some 15 months ago," because there is information that may come out in certain scenarios and you should not assume that the "coaches and administration seemed to have moved on." That is not the case.

The LA County DA's office never stated Sanchez was innocent. Far from it. They verified what the girl said, but stated that they could not proceed based on "insufficient information beyond a reasonable doubt to secure a prosecution."

Some of you really need to do your research before spouting off.

I couldn't care less what Sanchez's race is. I said sexual assault is a very difficult crime to convict, which it is, and that time will not make this go away for Sanchez, which is won't. There is nothing to disagree with on either of those points.
