Some Backstory
Until now, we haven't had much time to look into Mitch Mustain's departure from Arkansas, but one of the prime issues was a rocky relationship with Coach Houston Nutt.
According to sources, Mustain publicly criticized Nutt and then apologized but things never really recovered and some Arkansas players were unhappy over the comments.

Comments
Apparently the entire state of Arkansas has criticized Nutt! I cannot imagine how Nutt will not be fired after the end of this season.

If he ever criticizes Prince Carroll, we'll know he has a crack problem.

In order for Nutt to be fired he has to finish 0.500 or worse. They have a good team so you forget about that...

It is bad enough with the flower child Bosco has decided to join him...
Pathetic is it NOT?

Can't blame anyone for criticizing Nutt. I'm glad Nutt screwed up what could have given him one of the top teams in the country, filled with all-world talent. Because of Houston Nutt, we ended up getting both Mitch Mustain and Damian Williams. Pretty sweet deal, if you ask me.
So in the end, because of Houston Nutt, USC comes up on top!

I support Coach Nutt. His team had a very solid year last year doing it HIS way. He had one of the best running backs in the country and he did the smart thing - he got him as many touches as he could.
Mustain and the other kids from Springdale high school acted like spoiled brats when the coach decided not to run a spread offense. Guess what? Coach Nutts approach worked!!!
What are Mitch and his mother going to do when Sanchez starts over him?

Agreed, Nutt's loss is SC's gain. How someone like Nutt could ruin something that could have been so special is a travesty. But it ends up benefiting SC, so that's all that matters. I am so glad Mitch Mustain is a member of the Trojan Family now. Glad to have him on board. I expect very big things for him in the Cardinal and Gold next year.
Fight on, Mitch!

Either you are naive, stupid or ignorant? Maybe you are all of the above.
I will break it to you in such a simple way so that it would sink in your thick, close minded skull. A coin has two different sides does it NOT?

Houston Nutt is a damn tool. He went from 4-7 in 2005 to 10-4 in 2006 with the Springdale group. Now three of those players and one of the top offensive coaches in the country are all gone. What a tool.

SC'03,
The Springdale group had very little to do with the success of the Razorbacks last year. Also the coached who you called "one of the top offensive coaches in the country" was in his first year at the college level last year. The system that made Arkansas successful last year had little to dow with the system the OC planned on running.

I am completely aware of Gus Malzahn being in his first year as a college coach, yet he still got national coaching awards. So that makes him a top coach in my book.
I am also aware of Darren McFadden, so I am hardly ignorant of the situation at Arkansas.
Nutt is not a saint and as coach, the responsibility ultimately falls on his shoulders.

Who's Mitch Mustain?

The criticism that is being referred to was made by Mustain when he was 17 years old and in high school. It was quoted in a book about Mustain's high school football team. Very petty of a middle aged man like Nutt to get angry over comments a 17 year old high school boy made before he even went to college, especially as Mustain did apologize.
But that's just water under the bridge. Time to move on and grow up. This is USC, not Arkansas.

Correct yourself you are NOT a USC spokeperson NOR a PR person, either. Secondly admit that you are a member of the pro MM minority group called the usual suspects. Thirdly if you are going to report do it in an objective way with ALL the facts on the table. Sprinkling water around with a little sugar in it does NOT cut it, GOT IT?
Thank you

Yeah, right. Scott Wolfe, you are a stupid liar. NO ONE HERE BELIEVES THAT LOAD OF CRAP.
And by-the-way, who is WE? Not worthy of high-school journalism.

OK here is my Q Scott:
MM is a great kid. I had some reservations after what happened at Arkansas but I can see his a great young man.
Now, he says he is tired of the spotlight, and came to USC to "not be the savior of the team" and have so many high expectations on him. I can understand this. For the last 2 years he has had the TV cam and spotlight on him 24/7 and he is tired of it.
But...what do you think about 2009? After 2 years of sitting on the bench behind JDB and Sanchez and being a nobody...what will he think then? He was the #1 QB in his class and eventually he is going to get tired of being the backup. Don't you think he is going to get PO'd about carrying a clipboard when he was the #1 QB in his class? And what happens then?

Door Prize, please don't pick on me. Read my comments more carefully. You would conclude that I am squarely in the Mark "Nightstalker" Sanchez corner. Why? Because there is this little hottie at the local PetsMart who lives on the same street as him and says he's a good guy. By contrast, Mitch is a disrespectful little whippersnapper, openly criticizing his former coach.
I am also in Leinart's corner, but #7 just made an ass of himself saying "his boy" LeBron is more now than Tiger on SportsCenter. And is he holding out for an endorsement deal from Gillette? The half beard thingy looks silly.

Mitch Mustain is a Trojan now. What happened in Arkansas, including comments he made while in high school, are ancient history.
