Wow.... big improvement, Wolfie. Maybe you don't need to give up your ballot after all.

As a reminder, here was your pre-season Top 25 for 2006 that made FAR, FAR less sense:

Here's my first top 25 ballot for the Associated Press:

2. Ohio State
3. Auburn (WTF!)
4. Notre Dame
5. LSU

7. Florida
8. USC
9. Iowa (??????)
10. Florida State (?????????)
11. Georgia
12. Miami
13. Texas
14. Virginia Tech

OK Scott...I know you didn't make this because it doesn't have West Virginia or a Florida school at #1...

will the real Scott please stand up?

OMG this seems ground in reality!

USC No. 1 Scott ? Seriously?

I thought for sure you were the A-hole that gave West Virginia a first place AP vote this morning? I kid, I kid.

It seems like ever since WV blew out Georgia in a bowl game, the Big East has been moving up in the polls. Why? Their non-league schedules are as bad as the SEC, but they don't play defense. Move every Big East team down 5 spots or more and the poll is as good as any.

Very good poll Scott.

Keep up the good work.

"Ado," Scott, not "adieu"....

With Cal at #11 and Tennesee at #20, can we take that as your early prediction for the Cal/Tenn game?

BYU at #17? Wow thats just wrong.

And what scorpion said is spot on. The big east gets way way too much respect.

Scott Wolf

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
