Here's the chance for stragglers who did not get a chance this week to ask questions.

Scott, I didn’t see you last night...but at least I got Mustain to sign my copy of Mitch & Me (since he was sitting at the table next to us with Booty!).

Okay, back to the forum...this is kind of a broad two part question: Could you give us an update on when some of the key, injured players are projected to be ready to play again (i.e. Sanchez, Washington, CJ, McKnight, Hazelton)...and at this point in the week (I know a lot can happen from now till next Saturday), who do you believe will be starting against Idaho for SC on the offensive side of the ball?

Thanks...and sorry for the long winded question!

Are there still rumors that Shareece Wright still may transfer? I can't see Josh Pinkard switching to CB helping.

Thanks for the chance, Scott...

Is PC trying to recruit some CB's? Looking at the depth chart, in '09 we will be down to V. Joseph and S. Wright (If he's still here) I read an op/ed on Rivals.com saying PC "can't close the deal on top CB's"...do you agree?

OR

What's the deal with WR's now? Everyone is harping on the "10 deep TB rotation". Now we have 4 WR's coming in (Polk, Shoemate, Adams and Brice Butler) on top of Ausberry Hazelton Turner Patterson Johnson, Garrett Green Damian Williams and Brandon Carswell. By my count that's 12 WR's on Scholarship + walk ons and they are really trying to get Julio Jones....Bringing in Mouse Davis and going to the Hawai'i Run n Shoot? Expecting some transfers? Starting a "We have more WR's than anyone!" campaign?

Hi, Scott. First time asking a question so I figured I'd stay away from the Mitch Mustain category. How about someone that hasn't been mentioned yet (I don't think)? How has Marshall Jones been doing in practice? Is he OK with waiting his turn behind Mays and Ellison or would he consider a transfer?

miguelito Author Profile Page said:

I think Carroll likes having the hype of a #1 recruiting class, maybe I'm wrong but that seems to be his M.O.

Again, I think SC recruits excellent athletes and I wish we got Griffen.... but if you look in the past, high recruiting rankings doesn't put you in the NC game automatically.

Any early prediction for the Nebraska game? Do you think that Sam Keller will be talking trash like he did two years ago at ASU?

jbs07 Author Profile Page said:

Assuming Chauncey sits out for the Idaho game, do you believe Stafon Johnson has a legit chance of starting at tailback, or do you think C.J. Gable would start (because of the supposed 'lovefest' and experience advantage)?

And when do you think the starter would be announced (assuming CW sits out)?

Thanks in advance.

With all of the debate on the RB and WR situation, I feel as though one of SC's most dangerous weapons is being overlooked - Tell me what you expect to see out of Fred Davis this year, I think he is poised for a huge season

What do you predict the score of the opener will be against Idaho?

Hi Scott:

With the Idaho game now less than a week away, it's time to stick to questions about this years' team only.

When I look at this current edition of the Trojans, I see its' greatest strength as being overall team defense--and its' greatest weakness as being lack of depth accross the OL and at DT.

What do you see as being our greatest strengths and weaknesses?

Thanks in advance--hope you can keep the open forums going--but I know it is a lot of extra work.

PS I've been known as a straggler all my life-79 years-but I must admit I did get a chance to ask a question this week---but so did all your LOYAL EVERYDAY READERS--so please have mercy on an old everyday loyal reader.

It is my understanding that Holland was assinged to the Z position
which was Smith's position last year, and Holland's departure has made the deph at that positon weaker. What are the other
receiver position designatiions, and what is the deph chart at each right now?

scott you mentioned in your column that reggie and matt did not sign autographs afew years ago at the salute to troy..how come?..also is the salute to troy only for financial supporters or regular fans such as myself?..thankis in advance

Scott,

Why did you describe Mitch Mustain as a "pro-style" quarterback rather than a "college-style" quarterback? Please explain why you do not believe Mustain is a "college-style" quarterback and what the difference is?

Thank you.

Do you think Dallas Sartz and Kyle Williams will still be on NFL rosters at the end of the season?

Scott, 2 Questions.
1. Chris Gallippo looks like a decent sized fellow do they look at playing him up like Cushing last year some, or just at Inside Linebacker.

2. Can you evaluate the strengths of Kyle Moore and Everson Griffen. I know Moore is 6'6" so his height should be great at knocking down passes and Griffen is super fast for his position can you expand on those things from what you have seen?

Thanks,
REx

Scott:

In the scenario that Booty suddenly goes down in a game and USC is losing, does McDonald still come in or will Corp be brought in then?

What kind of ball release does Mitch Mustain have? Fast? Slow? Something he needs to work on?

Thomas Author Profile Page said:

Scott-

Now that Nick Howell has fallen behind both Matt Spanos and Kris O'Dowd, who is a freshman, on the depth chart, do you think he will consider transferring after the season? Will he still be on the travel team this season?

Will Broderick Green get a lot of playing time against Idaho?

Will Beckham ever play for Team USA?

Your opinion: Is it time for Bartner to hang em up?

Hey Scott, with training camp over, has Pete Carroll commented at all on Mitch Mustain's performance?

Fight on!

Are there any kind of promotions or marketing efforts being planned for OJ Mayo's debut, as well as the rest of the season to coincide with his time as a Trojan?

frosty_nerd Author Profile Page said:

While it sounds like we will be using a ton of different defensive packages this year, and we will be switching to primarily a 4/3, will the 3/4 get extensive use or will it be relegated to more of a very specific situational use? Will Cushing maintain the role of Elephant then, or would that role be taken by Moore or EG?

In your opinion, has Mustain made a successful transition from a high school to college quarterback? Has he developed sufficiently to succeed at the next level?

Thanks for this forum, Scott. It is always the best site for anything to do with Trojan athletics.

GREAT SCOTT: I just noticed that Adewale is listed at 230 on the depth chart--I can't beleive that--so does that mean we have to pretty much take all those height and weight numbers with a grain of salt? Thanks.

Can you give us the story on Alfred Rowe? What prompted his request to move to fullback, how he's adjusting to the move/ new position, what the coaches think of the switch, and his chances of seeing playing time.

Also, is it known whether or not Aaron Corp will redshirt?

Thanks Scott!

PS - Does anyone speak crazy talk? And if so, could you please translate and tell me what "Hotlips begs for an autograph. From chango to changa to "sluta"! 1/4 waste you sell yourself to the highest bidder. What else is new?
Walks like a chango flaunts like a chango 1/4 4nothing is a chango." means? (Sorry, but that excludes you Knob...you don't make sense any more...in Spanish or English...so this post does not require a follow-up.)

Thank you.

JJH4USC:

Just ignore the door knob. If you notice, no one even replies to, or even acknowledges, him anymore. You are the only person who acknowledges him and once you stop, he will have no reason to reply. He has no friends, so he comes on this board out of loneliness and desperation.

Just ignore him and his illiterate rants, everyone does.

Fight On!

Well that sounds like great advice....that would mean I could actually go back to discussing USC football...again (since the season starts Saturday!) and stop wasting my time with a nuisance blogger that didn’t go to USC and doesn’t truly care about or support the university or its football program. That way I can save my energy for the myopic Nebraska fans that will be invading this Blog in the next week or so!

Thanks Allan.

The problem with the chango4nothing alias 1/4 waste he sells himself to the highest bidder like prostitutes do.
He plays Latino when he feels he can impress Anglos like you who fall for his changuerias. He decided to join you and the rest of the usual suspects who like to chastise Mark Sanchez. I am a Latino and when a 1/4 clown like the chango4nothing joins idiots like you you will hear from me. He wants to join you fine just ignore his 1/4 garbage blood. He does NOT deserve to claim his 1/4 milkman's blood, whatever that is...

Somebody that was present at the salute stated how feaking arrogant you are. In my neighborhood arrogants like you are called come mierda. Now you know...
Make sure you can back-up your bool$#*T before you open your large jaws. Like I said loud mouth walks like a chango flaunts like a chango you are a damn chango.
