Scott, you wrote "I could see more transfers in the future, from positions. More on that later."
You seem to be fairly certain that there will be more transfers. Is there a large group of unhappy players on the team? Who are they? PC doing anything to address this?
In your quick ranking of the running backs this week you left off Stafon Johnson. Where do you place him? Seems like he has found the religion and is having a great camp.
Chelsea? Well ... they better win at Liverpool, because using "Mourinho Math," the Blues are only one point up on United since they have to visit the Theatre of Dreams on Sept. 23.
Haven't heard much about Kevin Thomas. He played and started a few games as a freshman and seems to be lost in the mix. What is his attitude and how will he contribute?

Were you referring to Adam Rose of the LA Times?
www.latimes.com/sports
?????
Who was it Scott?
In the LA Times for Friday, under the article of all the USC running backs, there was I think on the side or bottom of the front page some dude named Adam Rose for the LA Times "bragging" about his blog for USC football...
Why is Green not No. 2 on the QB depth over McDonald. Green was recruited to USC as a QB and McDonald is only a walk-on, who by all accounts is not up to the job. So why not Green?
Is the conditioning staff satisfied with Mitch Mustain's physical condition? Do they think there is anything he needs to work on between now and spring training?
Just curious - did the Eric Scott debacle over at UCLA have any repercussions at USC? Did Pete talk to his coaching staff about this subject? Do USC coaches think the Scott incident might actually boost USC's (and every other Pac-10 school's except UCLA's) recruiting? Was there a lot of conversation around the football program about what happened concerning Scott?
I know, you said there's a 1-Question rule, but I'm using White House Press Conference rules here, where every reporter asks a follow-up question (or several of them) when they get called on by the President!
Scott,
I saw that Joe McKnight had been practicing a lot with the receivers, could he wind up playing more receiver than running back? I know they have special plays for him, but I'm wondering about receiving specifically?
Arkansas fans all over the place are asking about Mustain, Damien Williams, and Broderick Green. Why haven't you gotten out the word to them about your all-Mustain-all-the-time coverage? Maybe the Daily News needs to buy some banner ads.
First, let me say that I wasn't on the computer yesterday, and thus had no chance to thank you in the comments section, as I always do--so here is a big Thank You once again for the mid-week forum.
My question last time was re O.J., and you said you were too tired to answer it. OK, I can live with that--and, actually, instead of the original query re O.J., I'd like to change it to ask you for a three or four sentence synopsis of your thoughts re O.J. after
your lengthy interview with him at the Orange Bowl.
Moving on, at least we know the blogger who didn't know who you were, was not Christine Daniels of the LA Times!
Now for my weekend forum question--heh heh-speaking of the LA Times, they reported that Moody was going around telling some of the other TB's that they weren't going to play-or they were going to be disappointed--all this the week BEFORE he announced he was transferring! If I were PC, this would make me extremely upset--so, is there any truth to the rumor going around that he was asked to leave?
Thanks very much as always, again, Scott. I greatly appreciate the forum, my best source for scoop!
Now that Pinkard is officially listed as a CB, do you think that he is going to be the starter opposite TT? All of a sudden our secondary is looking deep.
I know this is a stretch, but what do you think of the possibility of Taylor Mays lining up at DE before his career is out? With the trend towards lighter, quicker DE’s (A la LoJack dropping 15 lbs from last year), Taylor’s current size (6’4” @ 235 lbs) and propensity to get bigger, it seems to make sense. Haven’t there been reports he’s on a special weight training regimen to keep him from “blowing up”? Why fight nature? The NFL’s not gonna us him as a safety (remember what they tried with Darnell Bing, who wasn’t nearly as large). I say let Taylor grow naturally to 250-260 while maintaining his 4.28 speed, and he’ll be a freak at DE. What do you think about them trying this out next year after Lawrence Jackson graduates?
So who is the mysterious LB that the coaches are considering switching to DE? Is it a recruit or a current player? Any suggestions as to whom you would choose for that role?
Have you ever considered telling Petros Papadakis how to properly pronounce Mitch Mustain's name? The way he says it, it sounds like he's talking about a Canadian beer!
If you look at the past two recruiting classes, are the 5 star recruits now 5 star players? how much up and down have there been in performance vs. recruiting service ratings since the closely watched recruiting classes were rated?
Didn't see your prediction till Sunday afternoon. I will readily concede that Chelsea escaped with a lucky point from Anfield (their only shot on target the whole match was the Lampard penalty (and, yes, that was a dodgy penalty call)). And I must admit enjoying seeing Sir Alex leap in joy when he thought Tevez had scored just before FT (how did he miss from one yard out?). Thought Chelsea might be trailing Manchester after the first three fixtures--just did not think it would be City.
This is a cautionary tale for those of us who root for SC. Everyone and his brother, it seems, picked Manchester Utd. to repeat its championship season, yet the Devils' record is no wins, two draws, and one loss, with only one goal in 270 minutes. Similary, SC is picked, it seems, by everyone, outside of Baton Rouge, to win the national championship this year. Hopefully, at least, things will start for SC a bit better than they have for the Old Trafford crew.
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
