About Face

After saying earlier that Joe McKnight would practice without his knee brace, USC coach Pete Carroll now said he will be weaned off it.
"He didn't want to wear it at all but he has to," Carroll said.
Cornerback Josh Pinkard is waiting for a new brace before he is allowed to make cuts.

Even on that reverse field run, Joe looked slow. But a brace does not make you run faster.

Lawyer due, what are you talkiung about, were you watching the game. DUDE, McKNight reversed field and blew by everyone, and made it look smooth. get some specs!

LAWYER JOHN is catching the Scott Wolf Negativity Bug. Joe "looked slow!" What game was he watching.

I know exactly what Lawyer John is talking about. I thought he looked really slow on that play as well. Even on replay and Trojan Rewind, JM looked slow. But I don't think Joe McKnight is slow at all. After further review, I think he's one of those really fast guys that looks like he's jogging. Did anyone see DeSean Jackson's punt return versus Tennessee? He looked like he was doing pregame walk-throughs, but he was blazing past everybody. Vince Young is the same way. Last year vs. Houston, he had a 40-50 yard scramble for a touchdown to beat the Texans in OT and he looked like he was half stepping. The only problem was that no one could catch him (much like the SC defense in the '06 Rose Bowl) Some guys are fast and look it (like Reggie and Mike Vick) while others are fast and don't look it (McKnight, Jackson, Young, etc) But hey, they're all fast.
Fight On!

I am happy to hear differences of opinion about Joe's speed. Perhaps he was simply attempting to set up his blocking. But please don't accuse me of being as negative as Mr. Wolf. Our boy Scott, bless his heart, has the patent on that one.

Well I think everyone's right..like they always say..he "glides" he doesn't look fast on camera but on the field..

Where's my knee brace?

In other news, Holland won his appeal to transfer wherever the hell he wants to.

thanks matthew

good riddance

FREES UP A SCHOLARSHIP TO USE----AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's just because he runs so smooth, Petros said that on TV that he doesn't look like he's running that fast, but he's running that fast, he looked the same way in his high school videos, but nobody ever ran him down!

Fight ON!

Instead of comparing his speed to Reggie Bush, it should be compared with the blinding speed of Petros! The Idaho defense is not known for it's blazing speed!

I've seen Petros ramble for 65 yards for a td. And he did rush for 2000 yards in hs. Don't knock the guy as a bad rb--he did his job on a very bad team! Kind of like the Balls did a few years ago for the brewin's.

Scott Wolf

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
