Cracking The Top 10

Nebraska quarterback Sam Keller's 389 yards passing was the seventh-most allowed by a USC defense in school history. Keller surpassed UCLA QB John Barnes' 385 yards in 1992 but fell short of Wisconsin QB Ron VanderKelen's 401 in 1963.

Maybe number nine, however, how many yards did he get after the Pete started to put in the reserves on defense?

And how many of those seven quarterbacks have been on the winning side? Hmmm?

ZERO

And how many of those quarterbacks threw 2 INTs that led to easy TDs? And did anyone get a count on deflected Keller passes? It seemed like he had more in this game than Booty had all last season.

I thought that allowing Keller those numbers was insane! I don't want to take the brilliant shine off of this dominating and thorough victory but regardless that the bench played the 4th qtr, I was really pissed that our boys gave up all of those TDs and passing yardage. I wanted to hold the Huskers to just that measly early 10spot!!!
Maybe that experience will pay dividends down the road but damn it, I wanted the Trojans to totally throttle them, step on their necks and beat them into the same kind of submission that Utah thumped aclu with.
Fight On (for all four quarters)

Not to bring up bad memories TROBOB but John Barnes won that game.

Saturday's game was about Keller taking advantage of USC's base defense early and then throwing so much late against reserves playing prevent defense.
When it mattered most Keller melted down against the Petw Carroll zone blitzes and other schemes.

Congrats to Keller for padding his stats against our reserves. Pete Carroll is more interested in getting 2nd and 3rd team players out there whenever possible, since they practice just as hard as our starters. Any one who watched the game knows it wasn't anywhere near as close as the score would indicate. Keeping 1st team D in to risk injury is moronic when victory has been assured.

Your guys embarrassed us, but doesn't everybody mix in 2nd and 3rd teamers (especially in the secondary)?

I do thank PC for calling of the digs for the most part..It could've been even uglier.
