I don't get it.

CJ Gable and Stafon Johnson are USC's best backs. Chauncy is not as good as those guys. Plus, Chauncy has let the team down in the past. Let that guy sit on the bench, and call him if someone gets hurt. Plus, he's gone next year.

Gable and Johnson are the future.

I think that CJ is a good back but I think that he should be reserved for outside runs and screens similar to Reggie Bush's role in the SC offense, while Johnson, Washington, and Bradford should specifically be used for inside handoffs and pass protection.

If Gable is only good for outside runs, then they should have called more outside runs.

Gable was better than Stafon yesterday, he just didn't get enough carries.

If they had stayed with Washington and won, people would be grumbling why didn't they keep Gable in the game... if Gable had stayed in, it would be Johnson that folks would be asking about... I say let the coaches do their job and use the kids as the game plan or conditions dictate. Personally I like starting with Gable (good hands, game experience) to see what the opposing defense is up to, and then switching to Johnson (quick reaction, fresh legs, explosive moves) to see if he can exploit their weaknesses. In the second half, it may make more sense to stick with whichever back is hot and picking apart the defense - against Nebraska it was Johnson. I also like the use of Washington in critical situations for the power/short distance back (Lendale White) role. Also, what really seems to be making a difference this year for the running game is having a Full Back as a viable option in the backfield - way to go Havili.

Gable looked great last night, but SJ looks like the man. Sounds like he's pissed.

Someone said CJ is nursing a groin injury??

Anyway, I don't think he should be used too much for runs up the middle-doesn't look as strong as SJ or CW or Bradford.

I'd also like to see him returning Kickoffs
