Let's see .... conservative game plan, no blow out .... agressive game plan, big blow out.
It is USC fans that should be fighting mad, what a boring game!!!
Let's hope they go with the agressive game plan this year, so we are all happy.

Any truth to the rumor that Nebraska football players think a "cow lick" is something they do on a first date?

I can see their point on this one, we had a brand new Freshman Safety starting that game if I recall correctly and Callahan chose to try and run the ball for the most part instead of exploiting the new guy in the Secondary. Of course that new guy Taylor Mays turned out to be pretty good but he had no way of knowing that at the time. Running the ball definitely helped our defense.

Nebraska's offensive coordinator last year, Jay Norvell, is this year's OC at FUCLA. The bRuins were conservative on offense against BYU. Thus, the problem perhaps lies with Norvell, and not Callahan. We shall see. Fight On!

So were their fans. I talked to them on their boards.
I expect them to come out slinging right from the get go. 5-1 pass-run ratio. They know they can't run on USC so why bother?
And we have a depleted secondary.

Any team who has watched the three USC losses in the last three years can see that in order to stay in the game, they have to keep the score low. Keeping the score low means playing a conservative offense (i.e. ground game) and not making mistakes. I think all things considered the score last year was as tight as Nebraska will ever see against USC. This year the numbers will be larger on USC's side of the scoreboard.

uscmike: Actually Norvell did not even call the plays last year. He was a glorified spotter for Callahan (just like Dorrell was for Mike Shanahan.) Thats probably why they get along so well.
Trojan4Life: I don't know if you would call the Oregon St. game (a loss) last year low-scoring. Nor would I say the Texas game was low scoring.
That being said, anyone who has seen Callahan coach even once knows he gets conservative in big games. He must have some pretty graphic photos to have gotten that extension.
