"You're looking LIVE at Pete Carroll Field inside the Roman Meal Coliseum, as the top ranked USC Trojans take on...."

Gosh, such great names like 'Tostitos' have already been taken. How about something not so obnoxious i.e. The Memorial Coliseum by Edge. Then the sponsor can play on its name, such as, we are now looking at the "edge" of the coliseum. Of course, in all truth, I wish the ol' coliseum does not sell out to any sponsor. Is nothing sacred anymore?

Can a wise and rich alum (or group of alums) - of which i'm sure USC has plenty - get together to buy the naming rights only to keep the name "The Los Angeles Coliseum"?
I think that would be money well spent.

I bet Matt Leinart could/would buy the naming rights for $50K/month.

Isn't the "Girls Gone Wild" guy USC alumni? The Girls Gone Wild Colieseum. Can't wait for the halftime show.

Scott Wolf

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
