Looking To Rebound

One player who needs a better performance this week is highly touted defensive end Everson Griffen, who scored a 73 and did not make a tackle against Idaho.

Could someone please try to explain the scoring system that is being refered to. EG scored a 73 at what?

out of 1600 on the SAT?

Yes, Reel Bruin - 73 out of 1600 on the SAT or as they call it at UCLA - an academic prodigy.

PC and the coaches use a grading system for each player based on the previous games footage and grade the players out on effort, mistakes, fundamentals, plays made, missed etc. No one knows what the real point assignment procedure is but maybe Scott can use his "close" relationship to get us some more insight. What else does he have to do? It's why we're paying him the big bucks.

It's all about competing and at USC if you can put an actual score to something it's always better for competition. (This score makes me wonder wonder what Clay Matthews graded out at.)

Scott, is there any way you can get us a weekly grading summary after every week's game. Or do you not have that kind of access? Yeah I bet you don't, sorry for asking. You don't have that kind of pull.

Tyler - here's a rimshot for that lame comeback :)

Don't confuse it with a rim-job, which no doubt sureshot is on his way over to do for you.

73 would get him a Ph.D at UCLA

:o))

I agree 100% with this post. I have been hearing so much about this guy--he could play in the NFL now, he is a freak of nature, best D recruit USC has ever had..and he is totally lost on the field. I saw one play he didn't even have a clue where the ball carrier was. All he does is follow the play and jump on the pile at the end.

I am sure he will get better (It's too early to call him another Jeff Schweiger) but I wouldn't even play him as of right now. Especially considering how well Kyle Moore did in the last game.

This is one of the most disgusting things I have ever read. Only UCLA could do this:

On that play he was supposed to be on a stunt with Fili and twist inside while Fili went outside. Except that he forgot/didn't go inside which left a huge gap for the Idaho RB to go through for 22 yards.

He is obviously overwhelmed take him out.

66...Damn! every time I think that you have come up with something pretty good, you go and post something rediculous again.
EG will make you eat your words. You just need to have a little patience! Just because the kid was so highly touted don't necessarily mean that he'd be able to walk in, get the start and dominate like a seasoned defensive upperclassman. Give the kid a chance, you will be singing praises!
Hell, I'm waiting for Kyle Moore to repeat probably his best game ever (against Idaho lol) this Saturday. The previous "Kyle Moore" has not been anything to write home about either.

Damn, with analysis like this being thrown out for free on the web, why would anyone be unprepared to play us?
